Chapter 6 Admitting the Mistake of the Son
Murong Chen was overjoyed.
Mommy, it really is Mommy!!
She looks exactly like the woman in Daddy's marriage certificate photo.
No, this mommy is even prettier than in the photos!
The mom in the photo looks a bit plain; the real mom is beautiful and stylish.
Murong Chen clenched his little hands. Humph, he knew his daddy was lying to him.
The last time he sneaked into the study and saw the photos, he said something about how Mommy was burned to death.
But right now, Mommy is right in front of me!
As he thought about it, his big eyes unknowingly welled up with tears.
After all these years, he has finally found his mommy!
Kong Wange patted her stunned son and turned to go into the kitchen.
Murong Chen stared at her retreating figure, completely mesmerized.
Just then, the bathroom door was pushed open.
After finishing her game, Kong Ran was covered in sweat, so she took a shower. She walked out while drying her hair.
Upon seeing Murong Chen, her big eyes lit up: "Little Chichi, you went downstairs to buy durians, and you're back so soon? Oh, and you even bought a new outfit?"
That voice... it's that whistleblower!
Wait, what's the relationship between the dog and Mommy? Why is she living in Mommy's house?
"Little Chichi, why aren't you saying anything?" Kong Ran waved his hand in front of his eyes when he saw that he was silent.
Good grief, you dare to curse at me in front of my face?
Murong Chen gritted his teeth, "You're the one who's a little fool, your whole family are little fools!"
Seeing the anger on his face, Kong Ran was taken aback: "What's wrong with you? Where's my durian?"
What?! He still dared to ask him for food after being reported?!
If he weren't afraid of losing his gentlemanly demeanor in front of his mother, he would have loved to go up and punch her a couple of times.
"Shameless!" Murong Chen said fiercely in his childish voice, and went to the kitchen to find his mother.
He wanted to find out what the relationship was between the dog that reported him and his mother.
Kong Ran stood there, stunned, completely bewildered by what had gotten into her warm-hearted younger brother.
She was full of questions, her brows furrowed: Really no lotus?
Did they run out of durians?
Honestly, it's gone, it's gone, why take it out on her!
...
Upstairs, on the 27th floor.
Murong Ting entered the password with a gloomy expression and led Lin Cheng into the room.
He closed the door and took off his coat.
I searched the whole room but couldn't find my son.
His overall aura became even lower, and his temples throbbed.
My son is naturally unruly, and as he gets older these past two years, he has become even more difficult to discipline.
"In such a short time, he can't run far with his short legs."
Murong Ting put his coat back on and prepared to go downstairs to look for it.
"Young Master Ting, why don't I go find the young master instead?" Lin Cheng suggested cautiously.
"You? Even if you find him, will he listen to you?"
Murong Ting turned his back on him and walked straight out.
As luck would have it, just as he came downstairs, he saw a small figure carrying a bag walking out of the neighborhood convenience store.
Suppressing his anger, he rushed forward and grabbed Kong Chi's arm. "Ha, you've made something of yourself. You even know to stock up on supplies before running away from home?"
Kong Chi looked at him with a question mark on his face, as if asking, "Who are you?"
It wasn't until I looked closely that I realized, oh, it was that grumpy old man from the airport.
"Uncle, although we do look quite alike, I think you've mistaken me for someone else..."
"Still pretending?! Don't think I won't recognize you just because you changed your clothes? You're lying through your teeth, I think you're asking for a beating."
Murong Ting didn't bother with any more words. He simply picked Kong Chi up, lightly slapped his bottom, and turned to walk into the building.
Kong Chi was stunned for a moment, then struggled: "You human trafficker, let me go!"
What kind of human traffickers?
"I am your father!"
Murong Ting roared in anger and tightened his grip even more.
They held his small body firmly in place, allowing him no chance to resist.
After entering the room, Murong Ting put Kong Chi down, smelled a foul odor, and frowned: "What kind of rubbish did you buy?"
Kong Chi glanced at the room and thought to himself, "Human traffickers wouldn't stay in such a nice place. This uncle must have mistaken me for someone else."
Oh, he's so pitiful. He's only middle-aged, and his mind isn't working properly anymore.
Not only can they mistake people, they don't even recognize a durian.
Despite his fear, Kong Chi kindly explained, "Uncle, this is a durian, it comes from Malaysia, and it's a famous tropical fruit..."
What nonsense is this brat spouting?!
Murong Ting's temples throbbed even more violently.
"Enough!" He interrupted Kong Chi sharply, rubbed his throbbing temples, pulled him a few steps forward, pushed open a door and said, "Go in. You're not allowed to come out until you finish your homework."
Kong Chi subconsciously looked towards that door.
The table was covered with exercise books.
Upon closer inspection—
"One Thousand Mental Arithmetic Problems", "Three Hundred Ancient Poems"...
These are all practice problems he hasn't touched since he was three years old.
He sighed. "Alas, like father, like son!"
Not only is the uncle not very bright, but his child doesn't seem very intelligent either...
Seeing that Kong Chi was standing there motionless, Murong Ting angrily pushed him into the room and locked the door. He rubbed his nose and turned to go into the study.
Lin Cheng was standing respectfully in the study waiting for him.
Leaning back in his executive chair, Murong Ting asked, "How's the investigation into Chanyi going?"
"It's confirmed. She did return to China today. We didn't see her because she probably changed her clothes and we didn't notice..."
Murong Ting hummed in agreement: "Are there any other clues?"
"My subordinates just found out that Chanyi is a single mother who brought her two children back to China this time."
Murong Ting raised an eyebrow in surprise, something flashed through his mind, but then disappeared.
He closed his eyes briefly and said, "Check the airport's surveillance footage and screen out all those who meet the criteria."
Now that it's confirmed that the person was at the airport, they can't just grow wings and fly away.
"Yes, I'll take care of it right away." Lin Cheng bowed and left.
