Chapter 633 I Like You

Chapter 633 I Like You

Zhou Qiao was even more puzzled: "No."

Aside from that one meeting in the morning, she hadn't seen him at all today!

“That shouldn’t be the case,” Old Qi frowned. “If the boss didn’t confess to you, how could he think you don’t like him? And that bouquet of flowers, it’s obvious he didn’t give it to you.”

"He was drowning his sorrows in alcohol in the pavilion tonight, and he got so drunk that he kept asking us if he was that annoying. Sister-in-law, think about it carefully, did the eldest brother really not come to see you?"

Zhou Qiao had indeed never met Qin Feng, but in her heart, another possibility came to mind.

She was in Qin Leilei's yard that evening.

She wanted to talk things out with him at the time, and Qin Feng might have come looking for her around that time...

What did she and Qin Leilei say back then?

In short, it wasn't anything nice to say.

If he had actually come looking for her back then and overheard her conversation with Qin Leilei, he would probably have been very heartbroken.

Thinking of this, Zhou Qiao felt inexplicably flustered: "You said Qin Feng was drinking in the pavilion, which pavilion?"

“The Qinxue Pavilion is to the east of the gate,” Ayan said.

“You all go have your New Year’s Eve dinner,” Zhou Qiao said with a light cough. “I…I’ll go check on him at the pavilion.”

Upon hearing this, the boys' expressions all lit up with joy.

"After you've persuaded your eldest brother, remember to come and stay up with us for the New Year!" Hou Kai waved his hand and reminded him.

"I understand," Zhou Qiao replied without turning her head.

Qinxue Pavilion.

In just a short while, three or four more empty wine bottles appeared on the stone table.

Qin Feng's gaze was somewhat unfocused, but he was still somewhat lucid.

He held his phone, the cold screen light reflecting on his face. He scrolled through the photos on his phone again and again, his finger hovering over the "confirm delete" button, but he couldn't bring himself to press it.

“The filming was great, why delete it?” Zhou Qiao’s voice suddenly came out.

Qin Feng's heart skipped a beat, and his hand lost its aim, accidentally pointing to "Yes".

Seeing the photo disappear in a flash, he was stunned for a moment, and then his expression visibly darkened.

He quickly and instinctively reached for the trash can, but because of the double vision, he couldn't click it even after several attempts.

Zhou Qiao felt a pang of bitterness in her heart as she looked at him.

Qin Feng, who used to be so spirited and dashing, has never been so dejected.

She coughed lightly and said, "Stop looking, I'm here."

Qin Feng paused, turned his head as if with some doubt, and after a while he realized something and tentatively asked, "Zhou Qiao?"

"Yes, it's me." Zhou Qiao looked at him, and after a while, she lowered her body to meet his gaze as he sat on the stone table.

Their eyes met, and they saw their own reflections in each other's pupils.

It was the first time Zhou Qiao had noticed how deep Qin Feng's eyes were.

Like a deep whirlpool, it could engulf her in an instant.

Although she made eye contact with him to bring him to his senses, she unconsciously held her breath and her heart pounded like a drum at that moment.

Qin Feng wasn't much better off.

He stared blankly at the person who had suddenly appeared before him.

The person in front of me had such clear eyes. Her skin was slightly red from the cold, which only made her look more pure and innocent.

Qin Feng unconsciously reached out to touch her cheek. The touch was so real that his eyes involuntarily reddened for a moment.

The moment Zhou Qiao felt the warmth of his fingertips, her body trembled violently, but she steadied herself and did not flinch. Instead, she looked at him intently and called his name: "Qin Feng."

She used to call him "Big Devil" behind his back, but addressed him as "Master Qin" to his face, always keeping a distance and being polite. This was the first time she had called him by his name.

Qin Feng seemed to wake from a dream, and suddenly took a step back. Because the movement was too fast, his body swayed a few times before he was able to sit up steadily.

After a moment, he spoke in a hoarse voice, "Didn't you hate me, were afraid of me, and wanted to leave? What are you doing here looking for me again?"

Whether it was her imagination or not, Zhou Qiao could detect a hint of grievance in those words.

Knowing he had regained some consciousness, she breathed a sigh of relief, pursed her lips, and whispered, "Didn't you come looking for me first?"

Qin Feng paused, then asked, "You knew everything?"

Zhou Qiao didn't reply to her, but looked at the slightly deformed bouquet of preserved flowers on the table: "Is that... a gift for me?"

Qin Feng's voice was tense. After a long pause, he said, "Does it still matter whether it is or isn't?"

“How can it be meaningless?” Zhou Qiao whispered, “How would you know if you don’t tell me? If it’s a gift for me, what if I really like it and don’t want to leave?”

Qin Feng shuddered violently and looked at her abruptly.

The next moment, however, he realized something and laughed self-deprecatingly: "What is this, some kind of consolation for me?"

Zhou Qiao took a deep breath and slowly exhaled, her bright eyes fixed on him: "Qin Feng, I'll ask you one more time, are these flowers for me?"

Qin Feng paused, pursed his lips, but didn't speak.

Zhou Qiao stared at him for a while, and seeing that he still didn't react, she nodded: "Okay, since that's not it, then I'll be leaving."

After she finished speaking, she turned around resolutely, as if she had really made up her mind to leave.

Qin Feng was stunned for a moment, watching her gradually disappear from his sight.

As her figure grew farther and farther away, becoming increasingly blurry.

His initial anger and irritation were overwhelmed by panic, and he suddenly stood up.

Ignoring the wine bottles scattered on the table, he strode forward, grabbed her arm, and asked, as if suppressing his emotions to the extreme, "Where are you going?"

This pull inexplicably made Zhou Qiao even more certain.

She looked at him and snorted, "The sky is high and the sea is wide, so naturally I can go wherever I want."

Qin Feng took several deep breaths, and after a long while, he lowered his voice and asked with difficulty, "Could you... not leave?"

Zhou Qiao fell silent.

She looked at him, and after a moment asked, "Why?"

As if afraid he wouldn't understand, she added, "Why won't you let me leave?"

Qin Feng's eyes reddened even more, and he unconsciously tightened his grip on her arm.

Zhou Qiao felt pain in her forearm, but subconsciously ignored it.

She stared intently at him, waiting for an answer.

Hou Kai and the others told her a lot, how much he liked her, how much he took care of her, and how much he thought of her. Although she was filled with mixed feelings, standing in front of him at this moment, she only had one thought left—she wanted to hear him say it himself.

She wanted to know if what Hou Kai and the others said was true.

The air grew thick and heavy, as if the two were being pulled and tugged by an invisible thread.

After a long pause, Qin Feng was the first to lower his head.

His face was pale in the cold temperature, but his eyes were so red it was heartbreaking.

He looked at her, as if he had nothing to lose: "Because I like you, Zhou Qiao."

His voice trembled slightly, but his tone left no room for doubt: "I like you, I want to protect you, to watch over you, so I don't want you to leave, I don't want you to go away."
