Chapter 858 Chi Bao Extra (1)
(PS: After two years, Chi Bao's side story is here~)
"Hey, little Chichi, wait for me!"
On Monday morning at 6:30, in the underground parking garage, Kong Ran rushed forward and blocked the driver's car door from closing, squeezing in next to Kong Chi in the back seat.
Looking at Kong Ran, who was almost thirty but still acted recklessly, Kong Chi sighed: "If Mom sees you like this, you'll definitely get a scolding again."
Kong Ran complained speechlessly, "You promised to give me a ride to the clinic on your way today, but who knew you'd be such a crazy person to get up so early? I'm lucky I made it this early!"
"Don't you have a car? Why do you insist on hitching a ride with me?" Kong Chi pinched the bridge of his nose. "So, what trouble have you gotten into this time that you need me to clean up your mess?"
Kong Ran: "...Can't you wish me well for once?" She glanced at the exhausted-looking Kong Chi, then leaned closer and said helplessly, "Little Chi, you didn't sleep all night again, did you?"
The car had already started and was traveling at a steady speed on its way to Yunting Group.
Kong Chi closed his eyes and hummed in agreement, without saying anything more.
Kong Ran sighed, "Dad is really something. He dumped such a huge mess on you just like that, while the two of them are off traveling all over the world showing off their love. Do you really think they're our parents?!"
"Just because they are my biological parents."
How can I trust someone who isn't my own?
Six years ago, right after Kong Chi graduated from university, Murong Ting handed the company over to him directly, allowing him to make decisions on almost all major matters.
Although it sounds a bit far-fetched, Kong Chi is, after all, born with an IQ of 180 and has always been mature and steady in personality. So since taking over the company's business, he has always done a very good job.
This year, he further expanded the group's business scale by acquiring several groups of similar size to Yunting, making the group completely invincible.
Murong Ting had protected Kong Chi for six years, and now he was completely at ease. He no longer cared about any of the affairs and instead took Kong Wange on vacations all over the world.
The only one who suffered was Kong Chi—he worked overtime for this year's merger and acquisition, and coupled with his workaholic and obsessive-compulsive personality, he wouldn't rest until things were done perfectly, which led to him developing a severe sleep disorder and almost never being able to sleep at night.
Even though Kong Chi was physically strong, no one can withstand such a strenuous activity.
To outsiders, Kong Chi appears glamorous and energetic, but as his older sister, Kong Ran, how could she not know what her younger brother's situation was like?
She said with a headache, "I've told you so many times to go to the clinic for treatment, but you just won't go. Even a donkey isn't this stubborn."
Kong Chi didn't open his eyes, only uttering three words: "No time."
"No time, no time, fine, I know you're a big boss, time is money, you're focused on work and don't have time to go to the clinic for treatment, then let me show you this!" Kong Ran said, leaning closer, pulling up a video on his phone, and shoving it right in front of Kong Chi's eyes: "Take a look!"
Kong Chi slightly opened his eyes and saw that the video was a computer desktop. There was someone clicking the mouse and typing on the keyboard in front of the computer. Because there was no face in the video, he didn't realize what it was for a moment.
Kong Ran chuckled and answered his question: "This is a game streamer I've become a fan of in the last few months. She has a great voice and amazing skills, and most importantly, she's really funny."
She works during the day and shoots guns at night. While shooting, she complains about her boss. Her complaints are so good they could be a stand-up comedy routine. Even I, who doesn't work, can deeply empathize with her and laugh myself to death in the middle of the night!
But to be honest, their boss is really a scoundrel. He acts like he's never seen anyone before, and he'll squeeze every last penny out of you!
"It's a pity the young lady won't show her face, but we fans all guess she's absolutely stunningly beautiful. Capitalists are truly inhumane; in their eyes, there's no distinction between men and women, everyone's just cattle!"
After she finished speaking, she realized something and coughed lightly: "I didn't mean to you. You definitely can't be a boss like that, Xiao Chichi. I know you are still very humane."
Kong Chi gave a soft scoff: "So what?"
He talked animatedly for so long, but I didn't hear anything of substance.
"So..." Kong Ran choked for a moment, but that didn't stop her from continuing her recommendation: "That's why I wanted you to check her out! If you can't sleep at night, just watch her play games and rant about work, it's really interesting and super stress-relieving! I think you're just too tense, it's good to relax a little!"
"Not interested." After saying that, Kong Chi looked away and continued to close his eyes to rest.
Kong Ran: "..."
Too lazy to waste any more words, she took out Kong Chi's phone that was lying to the side, quickly unlocked it with his fingerprint, downloaded the app for him, and then followed the streamer she had enthusiastically recommended.
After completing the operation, she said with satisfaction, "Just listen to me. I've played this game with you before, so you definitely won't be confused. Plus, the girl is really funny. You won't regret investing in her!"
Kong Chi ignored her.
Kong Ran's personality is just like that, unpredictable and fickle. He's used to it and lets her do whatever she wants.
As for which streamer, he's not interested and won't click on them.
...
When the car arrived at the clinic, Kong Ran got out and reminded him to watch the live stream when he had time.
Kong Chi remained noncommittal. As soon as Kong Ran left, he had his driver head straight to the company.
This morning at eight o'clock, he has a very important meeting to attend. This meeting involves the group's upcoming organizational restructuring, which is very important and requires his full commitment.
He rubbed his nose again, then, as if remembering something, he took out his phone, pressed "1," and dialed a number.
A moment later, a calm female voice came from the other end: "President Chi?"
Upon hearing this voice, Kong Chi's tense shoulders unconsciously relaxed, and he then methodically instructed, "Put the meeting materials needed this morning in my office in advance. Take out a few important ones separately. I'll be at the company at 7:10, so don't bring me breakfast. I don't have much of an appetite."
"Okay, Mr. Chi."
The voice on the other end was calm and composed, and then the call ended.
Kong Chi let out a slight sigh.
Across from him was his female assistant of three years. She was serious, meticulous, and extremely efficient. Most importantly, he knew he had a bit of obsessive-compulsive disorder. The previous assistants he had hired were also quite diligent, but they could never fully meet his requirements.
But this one is different. They seem to have a great understanding of each other in many things. Often, she knows what she wants with just a glance.
Gu Zhixu.
Thinking of this name, Kong Chi's mind relaxed, and a smile even appeared on his lips that he himself was unaware of.
Upon arriving at the company, he went straight into his office.
As he expected, all the necessary materials had been neatly arranged and categorized, with the most important documents listed in order of importance, in a clear and concise manner.
Next to the documents was his usual iced Americano, without milk or sugar. What pleased him even more was that there was also a small dish of sliced kiwi next to the iced Americano.
When he can't eat breakfast, he usually eats some sour fruit, which makes his stomach feel better and helps suppress the faint nausea he feels in the morning.
Everything was just right, and Kong Chi felt that the lack of sleep he had last night could no longer bother him.
He is very comfortable now and feels that he can easily go back and forth with those difficult shareholders.
After taking a sip of coffee, he called Gu Zhixu in.
