It's not that Emperor Kangxi was incompetent.
Last night, Kangxi felt sorry for her and didn't torment her too much. In addition, the two of them ate early last night and went to bed early. They also slept during the day, which is why Youqing woke up so early.

Emperor Kangxi was a light sleeper and had a heavy mind; he could be awakened by the slightest noise. In his sleep, he suddenly heard a swallowing sound and was jolted awake.
Then he saw Youqing staring at him with wide eyes, swallowing hard. The sky outside was already slightly bright, so Kangxi could see her movements and expressions.
He was stunned. Who was she trying to scare so early in the morning? She was swallowing hard, as if she was going to eat him.
Kangxi's movement upon waking brought Youqing back to her senses, and she then said, "Your Majesty, you're awake?"
Kangxi also became more awake and knew that she probably meant no harm. He hummed in agreement and then asked, "You used to be a good sleeper and wouldn't wake up even when I left. Why did you wake up so early today?" Even earlier than him.
As he said this, Kangxi suddenly felt that something was wrong. The two of them had officially consummated their marriage last night, but she was more energetic than usual in the morning. What was going on?
Is he incompetent?
Is she too energetic?
