Chapter 2012 A Terrifying Thought

"It's just some demonic energy. The clan was prepared." The Sixth Elder with the three braids looked at Dongdan Yinxiang with great satisfaction and reassurance, then turned to some of the dozens of disciples who had come with him and said, "The clan has nurtured you for so many years. It's time for you to repay the clan. There is something very important to the main clan in here. Go in and see if you can retrieve it."

“Yes, Sixth Elder,” a dozen or so young-looking members of the Dongdan family stepped forward and replied.

Dong Dan Yinxiang found these dozen or so disciples unfamiliar and guessed they must be collateral relatives.

However, it was obvious to everyone that they were subtly disregarding the Sixth Elder, and even towards her.

This is not the attitude one would expect from a member of a collateral branch of the family.

However, Dongdan Yinxiang was very perceptive and did not act like a spoiled young lady at this time. She simply maintained a reserved smile and stood quietly and obediently next to the Sixth Elder with the three braids.

Amidst the envious gazes of the other disciples, the dozen or so disciples calmly entered the mine, where demonic energy surged.

Lu Yang and An Zijin were both stunned:

"The Dongdan family is indeed a powerful family; they actually have a way to resist such dense demonic energy?"

"At first glance, these people are all outcasts of their families. Don't you think that although they seem to leave calmly on the surface, their backgrounds are filled with the tragic scene of heroes going forth never to return?"

"I didn't realize that," An Zijin said frankly.

“It’s not that the Dongdan family has a way, nor that they died tragically as abandoned pawns,” Ji Fengyao’s phoenix eyes narrowed slightly, a hint of hatred and sharpness flashing across them quickly: “It’s that these disciples were sacrificed long ago; they are nothing more than demons parasitized by demonic souls.”

Lu Yang and An Zijin were both shocked by the "monster possessed by a demonic soul".

Although they had heard Ji Fengyao mention it before, they did not expect that these demons would look exactly like ordinary cultivators. If these demons did not reveal themselves, they would have no way of distinguishing which of the people around them were demons and which were normal cultivators!

This is terrifying!

This is terrifying to think about!

Once the Dongdan family members who were possessed by demons entered the mine, they were like a dozen pebbles thrown into a bottomless, muddy lake.

Half an hour, an hour, two hours passed.

Apart from the demonic energy emanating from the cave finally fading somewhat, there was no other movement inside.

Lu Yang and An Zijin were so bored while waiting that they sat down to meditate and cultivate.

Ji Fengyao has a special constitution and always carries a spirit-suppressing array on her body. She also never cultivates in front of others. So she took a recliner and a brocade quilt, wrapped herself in the quilt, and took a nap on the recliner.

They heard the soft rustling sound of Ji Fengyao rolling up the blanket.

Lu Yang and An Zijin opened their eyes in confusion: "..."

Their young lady is truly unique.

As the sky brightened, people's vision gradually brightened as well.

Suddenly, a member of the Dongdan family pointed to the cave entrance from which a large amount of pale black demonic energy was still gushing out and shouted, "Someone is coming out!"

Everyone looked in the direction of the sound and saw a human-shaped black figure fly out of the mine like a cannonball with a "whoosh".

Immediately afterwards, more figures flew out like small cannonballs, crashing heavily to the ground with a series of "bangs, bangs, bangs, bangs," their bodies and limbs shattering into pieces the moment they hit the ground, just like fragile watermelons.

Lu Yang and An Zijin opened their eyes upon hearing the sound and peered out from the bushes:

They could clearly see faint golden specks of light floating on the broken cracks of these people.

They were also certain that it was definitely not the effect of sunlight refraction!
