Wan Yan finally couldn't bear it any longer and took out a worn-out little hand drum from her sleeve.
"Thump, thump, thump!"
The faint sound of the hand drum was strangely clear in the dark night.
Behind the brocade curtain, Qian Yingying slowly rose to the sound of the drum. Her movements were normal, but her eyes seemed very dull.
Wan Yan waved her hand in front of Qian Yingying's eyes, but Qian Yingying's gaze remained blank and did not follow her movements.
Confirming that she was indeed under her control, Wan Yan couldn't help but reveal a smug and wicked smile, saying contemptuously, "Hmph, Qian Yingying, you stupid and dull woman, do you think that just because you're hiding in the Ninth Prince's mansion, eating and lazing all day, we can't do anything to you?"
As Wan Yan spoke, she reached out and pinched Qian Yingying hard.
Qian Yingying, however, had empty eyes and a blank expression;
It was as if he had become a doll, devoid of any sensation and unable to feel any pain.
Wan Yan chuckled smugly for a while, then gently tapped the hand drum near Qian Yingying's ear while speaking in a ghostly voice: "You are deeply in love with the Ninth Prince, and a day apart feels like three autumns; tomorrow morning, you must dress up carefully and do everything you can to see the Ninth Prince and win his favor."
Qian Yingying mechanically followed Wan Yan, repeating her words word by word.
Wan Yan snorted coldly, patted Qian Yingying's pretty face, and said disdainfully, "That's more like it. Alright, go back to sleep."
Upon hearing this, Qian Yingying mechanically lay down again like a puppet, closed her eyes, and acted as if she had never woken up.
Early the next morning.
Qian Yingying opened her eyes and saw Wan Yan standing by the bed with a smile, looking at her. She was startled: "Wan Yan, why are you standing by my bed looking at me so early in the morning? You scared me to death!"
"This servant will help Madam to rise," Wan Yan said, extremely humble and polite, yet also very distant.
Qian Yingying tilted her head and revealed a very happy smile: "Yes, I'm going to see the Ninth Prince today, so please dress me up nicely!"
“Yes, Madam,” Wan Yan replied, her attitude becoming even more respectful.
After a hearty breakfast.
Qian Yingying dressed up beautifully and went out, but when she passed by the ink shop, she showed no intention of going in. Instead, she walked straight ahead.
Wan Yan couldn't help but remind her, "Madam, didn't you say you were going to see the Ninth Prince? Just keep going forward and you'll reach Hui Nuan Pavilion."
“Yes, I’m going to Hui Nuan Pavilion,” Qian Yingying answered directly.
Wan Yan: "..."
That damn stupid woman, what kind of trouble is she up to now!
Qian Yingying suddenly turned around and saw Wan Yan's resentful expression. She retorted, "Why are you looking so gloomy?"
Everyone knows that Princess Chonghe keeps a very close eye on the Ninth Prince. If we want to get close to the Ninth Prince, we definitely have to deal with Princess Chonghe first; otherwise, we won't even get to the Ninth Prince, and we might end up getting a beating from Princess Chonghe instead.
"Do you think I'd be as stupid as you, rushing straight for the Ninth Prince?"
Wan Yan: "!!!"
Holy crap!
How dare this idiot call her inhuman and stupid?!
But undeniably, what this fool said did make some sense;
Before she and Qian Yingying entered the manor, the Second Prince seemed to have told her something like, "To gain the Ninth Prince, you must first eliminate the bandits."
Wan Yan (I endured it), bowing her head humbly: "Madam's insight is profound, this servant dares not presume."
Qian Yingying openly rolled her eyes at Wan Yan.
She strolled leisurely to the gate of Hui Nuan Pavilion, looked up at the plaque above the gate, and slowly curled one corner of her lips into a smile.
