The Zhao family beat and scolded Zhao Qinglian severely, then pushed the tormented, bruised, and disheveled Zhao Qinglian to the Jun family.
The person sent to manage the Ice Crystal Plane was Jun Ruchen, a second-generation cousin of Jun Siamji who was on good terms with him.
Although he was from a collateral branch of the Jun family, his refined and upright demeanor was exactly the same as that of the direct descendants of the Jun family.
He looked to be in his early forties, with a fair complexion and handsome beard, and a dignified and proper demeanor.
Knowing that Zhao Huanyang and Jun Xianji had an unusual relationship, Jun Ruchen didn't give the Zhao family a hard time when she saw them pushing the crazy Zhao Qinglian to their door. She simply walked around Zhao Qinglian carefully three times with her hands behind her back.
Then, she looked up at Zhao Huanyang and smiled gently, "You've made such a mess of him. I can't see what kind of taste our former young master had. He probably wasn't as bad as he looks."
A vague and ambiguous remark, seemingly insulting yet not quite, left Zhao Huanyang at a loss for words. He was seething with anger but could only awkwardly force a smile.
"Alright, just leave him here," Jun Ruchen said with a gentle smile and a nonchalant tone. "This concerns the former young master, so we need to ask the main clan for their opinion on how to deal with him. You should all go back first."
Zhao Huanyang found Jun Ruchen's smile irritating no matter how he looked at it.
But Jun Ruchen's words were so impeccable that there was nothing he could do about it. He could only swallow his anger and lead the rest of the people back to the Zhao family.
"Patriarch, are we really going back like this?" Zhao Huanyun was very unwilling.
"Then what can you do? Do you expect Jun Ruchen to absolve our Zhao family of the remaining blame?" Zhao Huanyang glared at Zhao Huanyun, then glared fiercely at Zhao Huanqian, and said, "Or do you expect Jun Ruchen to return that scourge to our Zhao family and continue to harm us?"
Zhao Huanyun then glared hatefully at Zhao Huanqian, as if he were not his second brother but his enemy.
Zhao Huan's face was dark and his lips were tightly pressed together. He didn't utter a single word from beginning to end.
Half an hour later, in the dungeon at the bottom of the Jun family's residence on the Ice Crystal Continent.
Jun Ruchen's eldest son, Jun Zijian, arrived with a beaming smile, carrying Zhao Qinglian, who was dressed in a new outfit but still had bruises all over her face.
Zhao Qinglian believed that the Jun family would never let her see Jun Xiandan again; she thought she was only going to her own prison.
Unexpectedly, Jun Zijian stood outside a prison cell, grinning as he called out, "Jun Xiandan, look who this is!"
Zhao Qinglian was shocked and suddenly turned her head to look at the people in that cell.
Inside the cell, the person bound by a lightning bolt cord as thick as an adult's arm slowly looked up at the person outside the cell upon hearing the sound.
Beneath her disheveled and dirty long hair, the face that I remembered as bright as a full moon was now withered and emaciated, almost unrecognizable from its former self.
But Zhao Qinglian recognized him by his withered face: "Siam Dan!"
"Qinglian?!" Jun Xiandan recognized Zhao Qinglian immediately.
One voice was filled with unbearable grief, the other weak and terrified, depicting the most tragic reunion in human history.
Jun Zijian was delighted and laughed heartily. He gripped the meteorite iron bars outside the cell and sang as if singing, "Jun Xiandan, in all reason, you should never have seen this demoness again in your life. It's only because I still have some blood ties that I risked punishment from the main clan to bring her here. Tell me, how should you thank me?"
"Didn't we agree that no matter what happens, we would never come back in this life? Why did you come back?" Jun Xiandan ignored Jun Zijian's sarcastic teasing and was eager to rush out to protect Zhao Qinglian and send her away.
