"Hmph! Damn Xia Tian, damn Xia Tian! I came all the way here, out of kindness, to help you solve your problem, and not only do you not appreciate it, you even want to kick me out. You're such a heartless idiot. No wonder you couldn't find a partner after four years of being a bootlicker in school. Guys like him deserve to be single."
After returning to the room, Qiu Mengyun was still upset about Xia Tian asking him to go back early. Lying on the bed in the hotel, she kept cursing him.
Xia Tian, on the other hand, didn't take the previous incident to heart. In his opinion, girls' emotions were unstable. Sudden changes of expression and temper tantrums were all normal. As long as he didn't argue with her, everything would be fine.
While Qiu Mengyun was still tossing and turning in a gloomy mood, Xia Tian had already finished washing up and was lying on the bed soundly asleep.
The next morning at seven o'clock, Xiatian got out of bed on time.
After washing up in the bathroom, he checked the time. It was only a little after seven, so he didn't rush out. Instead, he watched Douyin in his room. He waited until 7:30 before he opened the door and walked out.
"Boom boom boom! Boom boom boom!"
After standing at Qiu Mengyun's door for a few minutes and seeing that she hadn't come out yet, Xia Tian finally couldn't help but go up and knock on the door.
Xia Tian slept soundly last night, but Qiu Mengyun lay in bed until after three in the morning. She'd only been asleep for four hours, and was in the middle of a deep sleep. Awakened by a knock on the door, she gloomily covered her head with the quilt and continued to sleep soundly. As for Xia Tian's promise to go out at 7:30 a.m., she had long forgotten it.
After knocking several times without success, Xia Tian began to wonder if the girl had gotten up earlier than him and was already waiting for him in the lobby downstairs at the hotel?
He took out his cell phone and dialed Qiu Mengyun's number, wanting to make a call to confirm.
The phone barely rang when it was hung up. He called again, and was hung up again. He called again, and was hung up again.
Xia Tian was not discouraged and called Qiu Mengyun over and over again.
Finally, hard work paid off. When Xia dialed the number for the 20th time, the call was finally answered.
"Ms. Mengyun, I'm Xia Tian. We should leave. Are you up now?"
"Are you sick? You won't let me sleep so early in the morning and you keep beating me. Are you trying to kill me?"
As soon as he finished speaking, he heard Qiu Mengyun's hysterical roar from the other end of the phone.
Xia Tian quickly took the phone away from his ear and turned on the speakerphone function. After confirming that Qiu Mengyun on the other end of the line had stopped yelling, he reminded her, "Miss Mengyun, it's already past seven forty. We should leave. If we don't leave now, we won't be able to see Grandpa before his surgery."
"Surgery? What surgery? Also, my grandfather died a long time ago. Where did this grandfather come from?"
Qiu Mengyun was clearly still asleep, her mind still in a state of confusion. She thought she was resting at home, completely forgetting that she had gone to Zhengcheng to help Xia Tian in order to get him to help her deal with her mother's pressure to get married.
"Ms. Mengyun, today is the day my grandfather has surgery. When we signed the agreement, you promised me that you would accompany me to visit my sick grandfather. Have you forgotten all this?" Xia Tian reminded in a low voice, fearing that it would further stimulate Qiu Mengyun, who was obviously not fully awake at the moment.
"Huh? Oh, of course I didn't forget. But isn't the surgery at 9 a.m.? Do we have to go there so early?"
After Xia Tian's reminder, Qiu Mengyun finally realized that she was in a hotel in Zhengcheng. She came here to help Xia Tian deal with his parents and accompany him to visit his grandfather who was waiting for surgery.
"Well, it's already 7:50. Let's go downstairs and have breakfast. It will be almost 9 o'clock when we rush to the hospital."
"Okay, I'll be out now. Please wait for me for two minutes."
Qiu Mengyun regained consciousness and reluctantly got up from the bed. Rubbing her sleepy eyes, she staggered into the hotel bathroom.
Xia Tian stood in the hotel corridor and waited for more than ten minutes before Qiu Mengyun came out of the room.
He was a little surprised and asked, "Are you done packing? You're pretty quick. I thought today's breakfast was ruined."
"Hmph! I've always been famous for my efficiency, I won't procrastinate." Qiu Mengyun said proudly.
In fact, only she knew that in order not to delay her visit to the hospital to see Xia Tian's grandfather, she simply washed up, casually applied some skin care cream, and even went out with two big dark circles under her eyes without even putting on light makeup.
"Now that you're ready, come with me and I'll take you to breakfast."
Xia Tian didn't take Qiu Mengyun's attitude to heart. He had disturbed her sweet dreams, so it was strange that she would be nice to him. Moreover, he was asking her to help him, so it was only natural that he would be a little angry.
"Huh? Isn't the restaurant in that direction? Why are you leading me outside?"
Seeing Xia Tian walking through the hotel lobby without even glancing at the sign that said "Restaurant, turn left," but instead walking straight towards the door, Qiu Mengyun couldn't help but feel curious and asked.
Xia Tian explained, "Breakfasts in hotels are all pretty much the same, nothing special. Since you're in Zhengcheng, I have to treat you to our special breakfast, spicy hot soup!"
"Hu La Tang? I seem to have heard of it. Is it delicious?" When the food was mentioned, Qiu Mengyun's originally somewhat distracted eyes immediately lit up a little.
