"Dead in the Arctic Circle a long time ago?"
"Why Mr. Ren?"
The students looked up in confusion.
"Because only the nobles have enough money and fame to do this..."
Ren Yan shook his head slowly:
"Think about it, if Xia Yue had chosen to be a commoner, she would have only been able to choose a small boat worth 100 gold coins at the beginning."
"The situation you encounter will most likely be the same as Li Qi's. You will type GG in the first random event."
"It can be said that it was her identity that saved her that time."
"Moreover, all subsequent voyages and resources were grown from the initial start-up capital."
"Let me ask you, if you didn't have that initial start-up capital, would you have had any chance of choosing this route?"
Ren Yan looked at everyone in Class 9. The students thought for a brief moment and then shook their heads to deny it.
If they had started out like that, they would have been in a food panic halfway through the voyage.
Not to mention the subsequent events. As long as there is a negative outcome, the ship will be destroyed and everyone will die on the spot.
"But this is actually normal. After all, in that era, only nobles could make such a voyage."
Ren Yan continued:
"From the very beginning of the game, Xia Yue's chances of winning are much greater than yours."
"Because of her noble status and abundant family wealth, she has the ability to take risks many times, and the cost of trial and error is much lower than yours."
"And if you face a risk once, there is a high possibility that you will be buried at the bottom of the sea."
“That was the cruelty of that era.”
“The powerful are born to run much faster than others.”
"As the saying goes, some people are born in Rome, and some are born as mules and horses. This should be the most realistic portrayal of that era."
"Although it is indeed magnificent and exciting, it can also be a hell..."
Ren Yan changed to a more comfortable approach and began telling the students stories of that era.
Taking advantage of curiosity about the game and inserting the content that one wants to tell is the real purpose of Ren Yan connecting these two sections.
In the first section, geography class, we learn geography knowledge by playing games.
The second period is history class, and it’s almost time to tell stories.
However, none of the students in Class 9 noticed this, or rather, even if they noticed it, they didn't mind.
Through this short game, they have gained a basic understanding of that era.
And I have personally experienced some of the stories that would have happened in that era.
So now everyone is waiting for Ren Yan’s next words.
"Teacher Ren, how did this hell come about?" the class monitor asked.
Ren Yan nodded with satisfaction.
Well, this guy has the potential to be a stooge.
"Because the random events you encounter are just the tip of the iceberg."
As he spoke, Ren Yan scattered the pile of random cards completely onto the model.
Cards with various images came into everyone's sight.
There are ships running aground, thunderstorms, sea monsters, and so many other types that it’s hard to keep up.
Just by taking a quick glance, there are already no less than thirty random events.
Ren Yan randomly pulled out a card with shackles on it and shook it:
"Like this one, slave."
"When you encounter this random event, you will encounter a slave. You can choose to rescue them, leave them alone, or sell them to slave traders."
"It is worth mentioning that in that era, the slave trade was basically a cost-free and highly profitable business, and it was also the favorite item of most fleets."
"So what will you choose then?"
"If we choose to sell them, will they rebel? If we choose to rescue them, will it affect the interests of others? These are all unknowns."
"And what if you are slaves?"
As Ren Yan spoke slowly, the students' expressions gradually became serious.
They never thought that a seemingly simple voyage would face such a problem.
"For example, if you were really on Xia Yue's ship, and the slaves were your best friends or relatives? How would you feel?"
"Even if you didn't encounter this problem, the 63 of you were on the same ship, and after going through various events, your bond became stronger. But at this moment, you have to watch your friends die one after another."
"Do you have the confidence to withstand this kind of blow?"
"Humans are a species with rich emotions. When faced with this situation, most people will only have one emotion, which is collapse."
"Until you collapse and no longer have these emotions, otherwise this incident may become a shadow that will linger on you forever."
Ren Yan spoke in a low voice, with a light tone, without any emotion, as if he was just stating a very simple logic.
But somehow, the students of Class 9 seemed to feel that they had really arrived on Xia Yue's ship.
They endured bitter cold, withstood scorching heat, and survived the mermaid's seductive song.
We support and encourage each other.
But in the following time, the pirates seized their supplies and the disease took their lives, and they could only watch their companions' increasingly desperate eyes.
Watching one companion after another die in front of his eyes, or even in his arms.
