Chapter 121 Making Things Difficult

"Get down."

Mu Ruoyan spoke abruptly, her voice as cold as ice, devoid of any warmth.

"Huh?" Lin Xihe's eyes widened in disbelief, her surprise frozen in time.

Mu Ruoyan didn't even lift her eyelids, and said in a detached tone, "I want to sleep for a while. I hate it when someone is around when I sleep. You can come up after I wake up."

After saying that, he slowly closed his eyes, as if Lin Xihe was an extremely annoying presence.

Lin Xihe felt a fire ignite in her heart, and she cursed inwardly: This person must be out of their mind...

Before she could even vent her resentment,

"Get down."

Mu Ruoyan's voice came again, cold and impatient this time.

Lin Xihe gritted her teeth and shouted loudly outside, "Stop the car."

Then, she could only reluctantly jump off the carriage and follow behind it, walking step by step.

After Lin Xihe got off the carriage, the carriage slowed down at a leisurely pace, as if it were deliberately controlling her, making it impossible for her to keep up easily. She had to jog a few steps every now and then to barely keep up.

In the past, Lin Xihe, who often ran in the mountains, would have thought that this distance was nothing.

But now, the long period of comfortable life has made her body weak. After giving birth, she has also lacked exercise. After walking for a while, she began to pant and her chest heaved violently.

Not long after, she felt a sharp pain in her lower back and twisted her side.

She could only clutch her waist with both hands and move forward with difficulty, occasionally choking on the dust kicked up by the horses' hooves in front of her and coughing a few times.

After a full hour of this ordeal, the driver finally stopped.

Lin Xihe hurriedly stepped forward, and the servants, seeing this, put down the stool.

Lin Xihe was exhausted, but she really didn't want to see Mu Ruoyan anymore, so she plopped down outside the carriage and sat behind the driver.

She'd rather be out in the wind than share a carriage with that annoying person again.

But how could Mu Ruoyan let her off so easily?

With a "bang," the carriage door was suddenly pushed open, and Lin Xihe, who was caught off guard, was hit hard on the head by the door.

"Ah!" Lin Xihe cried out in pain.

"I'm sorry, Miss Lin, I didn't know you were sitting outside." Mu Ruoyan apologized, but the upturned corners of her mouth and the fleeting smugness in her eyes were impossible to hide.

Lin Xihe clutched her head, her eyes reddening with pain. A burning anger raged within her, yet she dared not lash out, and could only swallow her anger silently.

"Miss Lin, it must be so boring outside. Come and keep me company!" Mu Ruoyan seemed oblivious to Lin Xihe's distress and shamelessly continued to speak.

Lin Xihe thought to herself: To relieve boredom? I wish I could dissect you.

But she could only suppress her anger and calmly say, "Let's go later. I've been walking for too long and I'm still not fully awake. Young Master Mu, please stay here for a while. I'll get some fresh air here and then go in later."

"Unwilling?"

Upon hearing this, Mu Ruoyan's lips curled slightly, and she jumped down from the carriage with remarkable agility.

"Then let's rest. We'll set off again when Miss Lin is willing to keep me company." With that, he turned and walked into the woods beside the road, his figure quickly disappearing into the trees.

Lin Xihe turned her head away, no longer looking in that direction.

She was secretly worried. There were still twenty or thirty days left in the journey, and who knew what other ways this pervert might come up with to torment her? She had to think of a solution quickly. She didn't have a chance to use the anesthetic she was carrying, and the servants were watching her every move.

For now, the only option seems to be to avoid conflict with Mu Ruoyan.

During this time, the driver took the horse to get some water.

When Mu Ruoyan returned, Lin Xihe saw that the horse had rested enough, so she had to climb back into the carriage.

As soon as she entered the carriage, Mu Ruoyan's eyes were fixed on her.

"Miss Lin's health isn't very good. You need to rest for so long after such a short walk?"

Mu Ruoyan leaned against the back of the carriage, one leg casually crossed over the other, a cynical smile on his face, his tone as if he were watching a farcical performance.

"Is Young Master Mu's mouth filled with poop?" Lin Xihe couldn't help but retort.

"Papa? Pancake? I have a pancake in my mouth, what does that mean?" Mu Ruoyan frowned, somewhat puzzled.

He looked at Lin Xihe's face and saw a smile on it, but he felt that her words didn't seem like an insult.

"Fang Yan, by saying that, you mean you're handsome. But in my opinion, Young Master Mu, you look like a piece of crap." Lin Xihe stared at Mu Ruoyan with a serious expression, her sincerity almost making one believe her.

"Heh, you don't need to flatter me."

Although Mu Ruoyan spoke modestly, a hint of smugness flashed across her face, as if to say, "You have good taste."

But soon his face turned cold again, and his tone was tinged with disdain, "You're a woman who has given birth, you don't need to praise me."

Upon hearing this, Lin Xihe almost rolled her eyes, thinking to herself: Who cares about praising you? Who would have such feelings for you?

Thinking this, she consciously shut her mouth and ignored Mu Ruoyan.

The two fell silent again.

The carriage was so quiet that the only sound was the rolling of the wheels.

Perhaps Mu Ruoyan was feeling uncomfortable from sitting for so long, because she suddenly became irritable and abruptly opened her eyes.

He glanced at Lin Xihe, who was huddled at the carriage door. She was sitting as far away from him as possible, and because of the long journey, she had her eyes closed and her head was nodding off as the carriage swayed.
