Lin Xihe's cheeks burned in the darkness, and her voice was tinged with panic: "I didn't bring any medicine, I can't do anything rash."
Mu Ruoyan's lips curled up slightly, a hint of smugness flashing in her eyes. She calmly took out an antique porcelain bottle from her bosom, gently shook it in the darkness, and made a soft sound: "I brought it."
This medicine was something Lin Xihe insisted on taking after each time they made love, for contraception.
Lin Xihe's eyes widened as she used the dim light to see the medicine bottle in Mu Ruoyan's hand. Her voice was full of disbelief: "You shameless bastard! Why do you carry this with you all the time?"
Mu Ruoyan's imposing manner weakened slightly, and she quickly explained, "I made this especially because I came out with you."
"I don't believe it! You must have had this habit before." Lin Xihe said, then turned to leave.
She knew in her heart that at this critical juncture, she absolutely could not have any further entanglement with Mu Ruoyan, which was why she deliberately used this opportunity to make trouble.
“Before? What before? There was never anyone else before you and me. Have you forgotten that time when I…” Mu Ruoyan was interrupted by Lin Xihe before she could finish speaking.
"shut up!"
Lin Xihe's face instantly turned bright red, as if it could bleed.
"How do I know if you're telling the truth? What decent person would carry this kind of medicine around? Don't talk to me anymore!" she said, quickening her pace until she was almost jogging.
Mu Ruoyan followed closely behind, and just as they were about to reach Lin Zhihao's door, they encountered Xu Qi slowly returning in his carriage.
Mu Ruoyan strode forward, picked up Lin Xihe horizontally, and carried her into the carriage, ignoring her struggles and cries.
Then, he instructed Xu Qi, "Xu Qi, go to a place where there are no people."
The carriage was pitch black. Lin Xihe was held tightly in Mu Ruoyan's arms, and it took her a long time to find her voice.
What are you doing!
Why won't you listen to my explanation?
"What else is there to explain? You always carry medication with you!" Lin Xihe retorted stubbornly.
“I have never had any dealings with anyone else. I don’t even mind that you’ve had a child with someone else, so how can you slander me?”
"You can mind, but I didn't tell you not to. Tell Xu Qi to turn back now!"
Lin Xihe didn't want to talk about these things with Mu Ruoyan; all she wanted to do right now was go home.
"I don't mind, it's just that I arrived too late. But if you don't satisfy me today, how could I possibly let you go so easily?" Mu Ruoyan's tone carried a hint of domineering.
"In the carriage? Are you crazy?"
Lin Xihe was both shocked and angry, and her voice unconsciously rose.
"Going to an inn is fine too."
"I disagree!"
Lin Xihe struggled to get up, but Mu Ruoyan held her even tighter, and all her resistance was obviously in vain.
Ignoring Lin Xihe's objections, Mu Ruoyan loudly asked Xu Qi, who was driving, "Xu Qi, is there anyone else outside?"
"That's all, we've reached the woods." Xu Qi's voice came from outside. The village wasn't big to begin with, and it was late at night, so there was no one around.
"Tie the horse up and keep watch at a distance," Mu Ruoyan instructed.
Lin Xihe angrily punched Mu Ruoyan's shoulder: "Your injury is healed, right? You absolutely can't stay here!"
"The inn is still more than 20 miles away. I can wait for the round trip, but once I get there, I won't be coming back tonight." Mu Ruoyan's words carried a hint of threat.
Upon hearing the order, Xu Qi quickly tied up his horse and then ran away as if fleeing for his life, taking a rest on a high tree branch.
About an hour later, the whistle that Mu Ruoyan blew to call him came from inside the carriage.
Xu Qi rushed over, knelt on one knee beside the carriage, and respectfully greeted, "Third Prince."
Mu Ruoyan leaned lazily against the car wall, her expression full of satisfaction, and said softly, "Let's go back."
After saying that, he looked down at Lin Xihe, who was leaning against him, and gently straightened her slightly disheveled clothes.
Lin Xihe's face was flushed, her eyes were closed, and her long eyelashes trembled slightly. She seemed to have exhausted all her strength as she quietly leaned against Mu Ruoyan's chest.
"Your brother, I'm planning to bring him back to Diancang Mountain. What do you think? This place is too remote; it's really unfair to him." Mu Ruoyan's voice was low and gentle, echoing softly in the cramped carriage.
Upon hearing the word "brother," Lin Xihe finally reacted, slowly opening her eyes and saying in a slightly hoarse voice, "No, that would let my brother know your identity."
"I haven't done anything to hurt him, so why can't he know who I am?"
Lin Xihe nestled wearily in his arms, unwilling to say another word.
Mu Ruoyan looked at her, her heart filled with a thousand words, but seeing Lin Xihe's indifferent attitude, she swallowed back the words that were on the tip of her tongue.
The carriage moved slowly forward and soon arrived at its destination.
Mu Ruoyan continued to hold Lin Xihe tightly, showing no intention of letting go.
Lin Xihe said, "Let's get out of the car."
"After you go back to Dahao, could you please not let anyone touch you for the time being..." Mu Ruoyan's tone was almost humble, as if she were begging.
Lin Xihe's heart skipped a beat. She looked at Mu Ruoyan in disbelief. Could it be that he was willing to let her go?
"You're letting me go?" Lin Xihe's voice held a hint of surprise.
"I don't want to let go."
"So, will you release it?"
"put."
Mu Ruoyan's voice suddenly turned low, and he abruptly tightened his arms around Lin Xihe, holding her so tightly that it hurt, as if she would disappear if he let go.
"But the thought of you going back and being with other people makes me want to kill them." Mu Ruoyan's voice was thick with nasal tone, and his body trembled slightly, clearly indicating that he was on the verge of emotional collapse.
