Mu Ruoyan was completely unprepared for Lin Xihe to push him so suddenly, and he staggered back several steps uncontrollably.
His sharp eyes burned with intense possessiveness, but in that instant, a hint of hurt flashed across them.
However, he quickly suppressed this vulnerability, and his aura once again radiated a powerful presence that made people afraid to look directly at him.
"Marry him? What about me? Where do you place me?"
Mu Ruoyan spoke, his voice low and cold. Lin Xihe was already an inseparable part of his life; once he had chosen someone, he would never allow her to leave easily.
"Me? Why should I be responsible for you?" Lin Xihe asked in astonishment.
Mu Ruoyan said seriously, "You remember our first time. I gave you all my first times, and now you say you don't need to take responsibility?"
As he spoke, he strode quickly toward Lin Xihe, his steps carrying an innate sense of oppression.
"You...you're simply..."
Lin Xihe doubted whether she had heard correctly. He had forced her into this situation, and he had threatened her with Gu Qinghuai. How could he be so shameless as to make her take responsibility?
In the blink of an eye, Mu Ruoyan was already standing in front of Lin Xihe, his hands as hard as steel against the wall behind her, trapping her firmly between himself and the wall.
He leaned down, his face almost touching Lin Xihe's, his gaze piercing: "Do you really think you can easily erase me from your life?"
As soon as he finished speaking, his lips flashed like lightning and pressed against Lin Xihe's neck, biting her with a punitive intent, as if he wanted to leave his mark deep on her skin.
A hand slowly moved upwards, long fingers pinching her chin, forcing her to look up and meet his gaze, making it clear to her that she could not escape his control.
"Don't touch me! I don't like it, and my body doesn't like it either." Lin Xihe's tone was firm.
However, Mu Ruoyan remained unmoved by either soft or hard tactics, turning a deaf ear to their pleas.
His kiss grew more passionate, moving upwards from her neck until he kissed Lin Xihe's lips again.
Lin Xihe instinctively pressed her hands against his chest, initially struggling, but her strength gradually dissipated under Mu Ruoyan's powerful strength and mad love.
After a long while, Mu Ruoyan finally released Lin Xihe slowly.
His eyes still burned with intense emotion, but deep within them lay a hint of weariness and helplessness stemming from Lin Xihe's resistance.
"You can't escape, Lin Xihe. Once I've made up my mind about someone, I will never let go."
Mu Ruoyan murmured to herself, both as a declaration to Lin Xihe and as a way to strengthen her resolve to never back down in this relationship.
Lin Xihe slid slowly down the wall and collapsed to the ground.
She raised her head and met Mu Ruoyan's gaze with unwavering determination: "Mu Ruoyan, I will definitely marry Ji Zhuo. No matter what you do, my decision will not change."
"Why was it Gu Qinghuai first, and now it's Ji Zhuo? When will it be my turn? What am I to you?"
Lin Xihe turned her head away and took a deep breath. She felt that talking to Mu Ruoyan like this would be futile and would only allow him to take advantage of her.
She felt she should take a different path.
"Mu Ruoyan, you are outstanding and never lack people who admire you. Why worry about not having someone to accompany you? Why not start over and meet new people? You will find that I am nothing special."
"What did you say?" Mu Ruoyan's voice suddenly rose, filled with disbelief.
"That's just how it is. Try it and you'll see that relationships are nothing special. Maybe you'll be better off with someone else."
She also wanted to say that if she dated a few more people, she wouldn't be so fixated on any one of them, but she was afraid he would strangle her.
After all, she really did date more than one person...
"You want me to go find someone else? Lin Xihe, are you serious?!" Mu Ruoyan pressed again, her eyes filled with a last glimmer of hope, wishing she would change her mind.
Lin Xihe steeled her resolve and nodded heavily: "Yes, my mind is made up."
Mu Ruoyan stared intently at Lin Xihe, and after a moment, her eyes dimmed completely.
He turned around angrily, strode towards the door, slammed it shut, and left.
Lin Xihe stood there, staring intently at the door that Mu Ruoyan had slammed shut, her heart filled with mixed emotions that lingered for a long time.
Lin Xihe did not linger in the west courtyard and dragged her tired body back to her own courtyard.
As soon as she entered the room, she locked the door from the inside and then lay down on the bed.
She thought that after such a tiring day, she would be able to fall asleep immediately, but reality was quite different. Lying in bed, staring at the ceiling, her thoughts were racing, and she couldn't fall asleep no matter what.
The tranquil night, like a giant black silk ribbon, envelops the world.
Lin Xihe's thoughts flowed like a spring. First, she worried about Ji Zhuo, who was away from home, wondering if he had arrived at his destination safely and if there were any dangers lurking there. Then she thought of Gu Qinghuai, who was far away on the western border, wondering how he was doing there.
However, whenever Mu Ruoyan's image flashed through her mind, she would quickly pull her thoughts back, desperately trying to ignore it and not let herself get caught up in it.
Lin Xihe couldn't estimate the exact time, but guessed from her intuition that it was probably one or two in the morning.
Just then, she suddenly heard the door shake slightly.
She was startled, thinking she was hallucinating, but then she heard a faint sound coming from the window.
"Still locked?"
A familiar voice came from inside; it was Mu Ruoyan.
Lin Xihe tensed up instantly, quickly adjusted her breathing, and pretended to be asleep.
She inwardly groaned, blaming herself for being careless; she had only thought about locking the door but forgot to close the window.
