Seeing his insistence, Lin Xihe stopped pressuring him and silently packed up the medicine bottle, putting it back in the medicine box.
Lin Xihe turned around and walked straight to the collapsed bed. She deftly moved the two stools that were placed next to her and rearranged them neatly on the floor.
Ji Zhuo had assumed Lin Xihe was going to get the blankets, but to his surprise, she put the door panel back together on the ground, carefully laid it out, turned to face Ji Zhuo, and said in an unquestionable tone, "Come down and sleep."
"I'm not going!" Ji Zhuo refused without hesitation.
"Get down here right now! Do you think you can take my spot?" Lin Xihe raised her voice.
"I'm not going, the ground is too damp." Ji Zhuo frowned, looking unwilling.
"It's just one day of sleep, it won't kill you." Lin Xihe crossed her arms, refusing to budge an inch.
Seeing Lin Xihe standing by the bed in thin clothes, locked in a stalemate with him, Ji Zhuo jumped out of bed, strode forward, gently picked Lin Xihe up, placed her on the bed, quickly pulled the blanket over her, and then slipped under the covers himself.
"Your back is healed so quickly?"
Just as Lin Xihe was about to struggle and resist, she heard Ji Zhuo whisper in her ear, "I'm sorry, I shouldn't have lied to you. What I hate most in my life is being deceived, but I deceived you."
Ji Zhuo tightened his arms around Lin Xihe, holding her close, and continued to murmur, "All that happened in the past was my fault. From now on, let's stop deceiving each other, okay?"
After a brief pause, he asked softly, "Xi'er, would you like to come back to the capital with me?"
