“Ji Zhuo, I don’t necessarily want to be with anyone. Maybe in your eyes, I’m a liar who’s full of lies, but I just want to hide here and live a peaceful life. I did lie to you, so why don’t you hit me a few times to vent your anger, and then we’ll break up, okay?” Lin Xihe looked at Ji Zhuo with pleading eyes.
Upon hearing this, Ji Zhuo's anger erupted like a volcano.
He suddenly knocked over the wooden box next to him, and the gems inside scattered all over the ground, while the silver notes also fluttered into the mud.
Lin Xihe's eyes followed the direction of the rolling gemstone, then looked at the silver note that had fallen into the mud, her heart filled with heartache and helplessness.
"You want to break up with me? You must be dreaming!" Ji Zhuo roared, stood up and strode to Lin Xihe, picked her up and carried her into the house.
"Ji Zhuo, what are you doing? Let me go!" Lin Xihe struggled in terror.
"I gave you a chance, but you wouldn't even give me a decent explanation! Your mouth is full of lies!"
"Ji Zhuo, you're crazy! Let me go!" She twisted her body desperately, but no matter how hard she struggled, she couldn't break free from Ji Zhuo's embrace.
In the end, Ji Zhuo threw her heavily onto the bed.
Lin Xihe was afraid, but she didn't dare to shout. She knew there were people guarding outside, and even if she summoned someone, they would only be stopped and it would be of no use.
Ji Zhuo's eyes widened in anger, like a runaway bull. He roughly grabbed Lin Xihe's collar with both hands and ripped it open with a "ripping" sound.
His movements were savage and ruthless, as if he wanted to unleash all his anger, but he only tore at her clothes and did nothing more. He was breathing heavily, his chest heaving, his eyes fixed on Lin Xihe, his anger mixed with struggle and restraint.
"Ji Zhuo! Does it have to be like this? You perverted bastard."
Lin Xihe pushed Ji Zhuo's face with both hands, but she was pressed down and couldn't budge him at all.
"At this point, you still dare to be so harsh? You still dare to curse me? Do you know that you are the one who did something wrong!" Ji Zhuo sneered, and Lin Xihe's outer robe was roughly torn open by him, revealing her inner garment.
Lin Xihe was both shocked and frightened, but she still stubbornly pulled her collar back together, trying to cover herself.
Lin Xihe's struggles only fueled Ji Zhuo's anger. With a sudden burst of strength, he ripped off Lin Xihe's outer garment completely.
Several rounds.
Lin Xihe was exhausted from struggling, and her breathing became rapid. She frantically grabbed the blanket from the side and held it tightly to her chest: "Okay, I... I won't struggle anymore. Can you let me go pick up the silver notes first? And then come back?"
Her voice trembled slightly, but she was already calculating how to escape this predicament.
Try to keep him calm for now; buy him time if you can.
"Lin Xihe, are you kidding me?!" Ji Zhuo stared at her in disbelief.
"No, I'm not as strong as you. If you really want me, I can't stop you. I'll accept it, okay? But what if the wind blows the silver notes away?"
Lin Xihe tried her best to make her expression look sincere, but her eyes were secretly observing Ji Zhuo's reaction.
"So you understand matters between men and women?" Ji Zhuo frowned slightly, his anger intensifying. Was he lying to himself even yesterday?
If you wiped your mouth after being kissed yesterday, does that mean you truly, truly loathe your own touch?
"I know you're about to bite someone again. Wait until I pick up the silver notes, then you can bite me all you want, okay?" Lin Xihe was now only thinking about calming Ji Zhuo down so she could buy herself more time. Her palms were sweaty, and she was gripping the blanket tightly.
Ji Zhuo gradually stopped what he was doing, placed his hands on either side of Lin Xihe, and stared intently into her eyes: "Have you and Doctor Ye ever done what we are doing now?"
"What? He and I have never even held hands. Don't spread rumors about me."
Lin Xihe hurriedly tried to explain, inwardly groaning, "How did we get involved with Doctor Ye again? I hope I don't anger him any further."
"Someone like you, are you afraid I'll spread rumors?" Ji Zhuo's voice carried a hint of sarcasm.
Lin Xihe knew she had touched a nerve that might anger Ji Zhuo, so she quickly changed the subject: "If you won't let me out, can you go and bring in the silver notes and jewels outside?"
Ji Zhuo was so angry at this bizarre line of thought that he was speechless for a moment, his chest heaving violently. After a long while, he finally managed to choke out a sentence: "You are simply unreasonable!"
He then rolled out of bed and stormed out.
Lin Xihe watched his departing figure and breathed a sigh of relief. At least Ji Zhuo wasn't like the one in the book. Although he was still domineering, he ultimately didn't hurt her. Aside from tearing at her clothes, he didn't even kiss her once.
Lin Xihe finally had a chance to sit up. Looking at her torn clothes, she was embarrassed and sighed helplessly. She then hurriedly pulled the blanket over herself and wrapped herself tightly in it.
Before long, Ji Zhuo returned, clutching the silver notes and gems tightly in his hands.
His steps were slightly heavy, and his eyes held a complex mix of emotions, a mixture of lingering anger and doubt.
He walked straight up to Lin Xihe and, without saying a word, threw the gems and silver notes in front of her, the action carrying a hint of venting his anger.
He thought to himself: This woman keeps saying she cares about these material things, let's see just how greedy she can be.
Lin Xihe did not respond, but silently lowered her head and carefully counted the number of gems. After confirming that there were no errors, she felt a little relieved.
"Are you really keeping us hanging on by the thread for the money?" Ji Zhuo's voice broke the brief silence, his words filled with strong questioning and dissatisfaction.
