Lin Xihe felt the pain in her chest growing stronger, as if a raging fire was burning inside. The intense pain quickly spread throughout her body, causing her consciousness to gradually sink into a state of chaos.
After an unknown amount of time, a sudden bright light appeared before their eyes, and the swirling mist slowly dissipated—the original owner's first memory.
Lin Xihe looked up and saw a magnificent gate in front of her. A girl dressed in light pink was standing in front of a group of people, looking up expectantly with eyes full of anticipation and anxiety.
"Uncle Fu, when will my father and brother be able to come back?" the girl asked in a clear voice.
The girl in pink is Lin Xihe from a few years ago; she looks much younger now than she does now.
Uncle Fu looked at her with a kind expression and said slowly, "Miss, don't be in a hurry. The eldest young master sent someone to say that he will arrive at 9:00 AM. You came out too early. Why don't you go back to your room and rest for a while?"
"I don't want to. I'll just wait here. I haven't seen my brother and father for two years." Lin Xihe stubbornly shook her head.
"Mei'er, quickly go and get a cloak for the young lady. Although it's springtime, the weather is still chilly." Uncle Fu turned to instruct the maid beside him.
"Yes, Butler Fu."
The maid named Mei responded and immediately turned and ran into the house.
Lin Xihe couldn't help but step forward and carefully examine what the original owner looked like when she was younger.
As she approached, she was surprised to find that none of these people seemed to be able to see her.
She instantly realized that she might be dreaming, or she might be trapped in the depths of the original owner's memories.
Just then, a group of people dressed in armor slowly walked over from not far away.
The man at the head was Lin Xihe's father. He was wearing heavy armor, with a long sword at his waist. His steps were steady and powerful, and he stood out at the front of the crowd.
Lin Xihe looked him over and felt that he was extremely tall, probably around 1.9 meters.
"Father!"
The original owner's sweet voice rang out instantly, and then she ran directly towards the person who came like a happy little deer.
Seeing this, Uncle Fu quickly followed closely, but as he ran, Lin Xihe noticed that his leg was disabled and he walked with a limp.
The original owner's father, Lin Bin, bent down and hugged his daughter tightly.
Lin Xihe looked at the original owner's father's young face, but found that his hair was already mixed with many white hairs.
"Xihe~ You've grown taller again! Do you miss Daddy?" Lin Bin's voice was full of affection.
"I miss my father, father, let me go, I want my big brother to hold me." The original owner said, turning to look at the boy beside her.
The young man was tall and slender. Although he was not as robust as the original owner's father, he had the demeanor of a young general described in the book. At a young age, he was already dashing and handsome.
"Xihe, you are twelve years old now, a big girl. I can no longer carry you. I will hold your hand and walk with you."
Lin Zhihao bent down slightly and gently rubbed his younger sister's head.
"Brother, how come you're so tall?"
"If you don't grow taller, how will you protect our Xihe?" Lin Zhihao's face was radiant with a smile as bright as the spring sunshine.
At this moment, as Uncle Fu looked at the face of the original owner's father, his eyes were filled with tears.
Immediately afterwards, the surrounding scenery changed rapidly like a dream bubble—the original owner's second memory.
It was still that familiar gate. The original owner of this body had grown into a graceful young woman, looking about fourteen or fifteen years old.
She stood there quietly, dressed in a moon-white dress and a white cloak, appearing dignified and serene.
She stood side by side with Uncle Fu, but tears would occasionally well up in her eyes uncontrollably. When she came to her senses, she would quickly wipe them away gently with the back of her hand.
Both remained silent, their gazes fixed on the other side of the street corner.
At this moment, snowflakes were falling heavily from the sky, fluttering down like goose feathers.
The servants in the courtyard swept the snow off the ground again and again, as if trying to maintain a sense of cleanliness and tranquility.
After a long wait, the queue on the street corner finally came into view again.
Without hesitation, Lin Xihe lifted her skirt and ran forward quickly, completely disregarding the snow water splashing onto her muddy socks.
When Lin Bin saw his daughter running towards him, he slowly squatted down, opened his arms, and waited for her quietly.
However, when Lin Xihe ran up to Lin Bin, she suddenly stopped and did not rush into her father's arms as she had done before.
"Father, your daughter has grown up. She's fifteen this year," Lin Xihe said softly, her gaze involuntarily drifting to her father's side, but her brother's familiar figure was no longer there.
Lin Bin slowly withdrew his arm, his eyes filled with an indescribable bitterness: "Yes, our Xihe is indeed a grown-up girl now."
"Father, have we not found my brother yet?" Lin Xihe's voice trembled slightly.
"We're still searching, but we'll definitely find it," Lin Bin said firmly.
At this time, Lin Bin's head was mostly covered with white hair. He was only thirty-six years old, but his face was full of the vicissitudes and weariness of time.
“Then Xihe will postpone her coming-of-age ceremony until her brother returns. That way, he will be able to keep his promise to me.”
The original owner forced a smile as she spoke to her father, but tears still streamed down her face, dripping onto her shoes and spreading out in small water stains.
Immediately, the scene before my eyes seemed to be swept away by an invisible wind, and changed again—the original owner's third memory.
It was the same familiar alley. A young man dressed in blue rode up on horseback, his hooves kicking up snowflakes, and came to an abrupt stop in front of the general's mansion.
