Chapter 6

Chapter 6

The afternoon sun shone gently through the French windows, and the air was filled with a faint jasmine fragrance.

Sakura Hoshino wore a loose white knitted cardigan, her bare legs curled up on the beige sofa in the villa's living room, her long golden hair gently draped over her shoulders, reflecting the sunlight like honey.

She was flipping through a thick magazine featuring wedding photography, her eyes unconsciously lingering on one page.

It was a forest-themed wedding photo.

The model, wearing a light pink backless trailing dress, stands amidst lush green vines, with clusters of white rose petals falling behind her, against a backdrop of a forest path glistening with morning dew.

The scene was serene and beautiful, like a dream.

Sakura tilted her head slightly, pointing her index finger at the corner of the photo, her blue eyes sparkling with a hint of watery laughter.

"Hmm...this atmosphere is so romantic..."

She bit her lip, her eyes gentle.

"But... isn't her back showing too much?"

Recalling Minamino Shuichi's "red-eyed arousal" when she tried on her wedding dress a few days ago, her cheeks flushed, and even the tips of her ears turned crimson.

She pouted and gave a soft hum: "Who told him to be such a lecherous fox? He gets all red-faced from just a little teasing."

But her tone clearly carried a coquettish smile.

She swiped her finger to the next page, where the photo had changed to a retro European-style wedding hall. The bride was wearing a high-necked lace long-sleeved wedding dress with a veil that reached the ground, making her look like an aristocrat from the old century.

"This one has such a sophisticated air about her..."

As Sakura watched, she couldn't help but gently cover her flat stomach with her hand, her eyes showing a touch of tender maternal love.

"Baby...which wedding dress do you think looks best on Mommy?"

She lowered her head and asked softly, as if she were having a quiet conversation with the little life inside her.

"Although Mom said your dad doesn't need to take responsibility..." she smiled slightly, her tone as gentle as moonlight, "he's been treating me like a madman these past few days... spoiling me so much I can hardly breathe."

“He kisses me every morning, hugs me every night, and even laughs out loud when he wakes up in the middle of the night and looks at me.”

"It's annoying... but... it's not bad."

She gently bit her lip and added softly:

"If I really had to marry him... I don't think I dislike him at all."

After saying that, she quickly covered her face and buried herself in a cushion: "Aaaaaah, what was I thinking! How could I have been charmed by that guy who forcibly kissed me?!"

"He was so unrestrained with me that day..."

"And I actually... I actually..."

Her voice grew softer and softer as she rolled around hugging the pillow, utterly mortified.

And all of this.

Standing at the corner of the stairs, Shuichi Minamino could see it clearly.

He watched quietly as she covered her face and twisted and turned on the sofa, blushing as she looked at the wedding dress catalog, not missing a single word of her quiet "mutterings to herself."

A barely suppressed, indulgent smile appeared in his eyes.

"She blushed while looking at wedding dresses," he murmured softly. "She really is my future wife."

He turned and went into the kitchen, put on an apron and began preparing dinner, his movements gentle, but a smile involuntarily crept onto his lips.

"I need to change into a more closed-off wedding dress, otherwise I really won't be able to control myself at the wedding."

"But she said—she wants to marry me, and it doesn't seem like she dislikes me."

He chopped vegetables while laughing like a teenager.

Meanwhile, in the living room, Sakura Hoshino was still secretly biting her fingers, glancing at another series of wedding dresses in a magazine—

It features a snow scene theme at a hot spring shrine.

She muttered to herself:

"This... is so romantic."

"But if we're going to wear a kimono, should we choose a red one?"

"Shuichi would probably like it..."

She blushed again as she said this.

"I didn't pick one for him!! I... I was just saying it casually!!"

Then, hugging the cushion, he rolled over and rubbed himself all over the sofa.

She didn't know.

Her subtle feelings for marriage had long been noticed and kept hidden in the heart of the man who "most wanted to marry her".

And their wedding will ultimately be as she hoped—

Like a dream, like an illusion, and as I wished.

On the day of the wedding photo shoot, the weather was sunny, and the sunlight shone between the mountains and the shrine.

The photography team specially arranged two themed scenes for Sakura Hoshino and Shuichi Minamino: one was a romantic forest-themed photoshoot, and the other was a traditional shrine-themed photoshoot.

Sakura had her makeup done early by the stylist and was dressed in a modified off-white Mori-style wedding dress—lace cuffs, a light and misty tulle skirt, and small flowers adorning the hem. Her long golden hair was styled into a loose, low ponytail, with a small white flower tucked behind her ear.

She sat in front of the vanity mirror, looking at her outfit while muttering to herself, "Why is it a backless dress again... I hope he doesn't get aroused this time..."

She glanced at the doorway through the mirror—and sure enough, Shuichi Minamino was leaning against it, dressed in a suit and white shirt, his red hair half-tied up, his green eyes slightly narrowed.

He had been staring at her for three minutes, and even the photographer had reminded him, "Don't scare the bride with such a burning gaze."

But his eyes never left her.

"You're spacing out again." Sakura stood up and walked towards him, her skirt swaying gently, a charming smile on her face. "Am I too beautiful?"

“You know the answer,” he said in a low, husky voice. “I’m afraid if I kiss you now, my makeup will run.”

"If you dare to kiss me forcibly in front of the camera, I'll kick you."

"Then you'll just have to wait until my legs go weak when we take kissing photos."

“…You scoundrel.” She muttered, blushing.

The first set of wedding photos was taken on a mountain forest trail.

The light was soft, and Sakura, under the shade of the trees, held onto her skirt and turned around gently. The skirt fluttered in the wind, revealing her delicate collarbone and slender neck and shoulders.

The photographer was practically screaming with excitement: "So beautiful! So beautiful!! Groom, you can hug her from behind around the waist—yes! Lean down and kiss her forehead—perfect!!!"

With a very gentle movement, Minamino Shuichi wrapped his arms around Sakura's waist from behind, pressed his lips to her forehead, and whispered, "You're still showing too much of your back."

"...Don't blame me for the photographer's choice of style."

"You did this on purpose, didn't you?" he chuckled.

"Yes, I love flirting with you." She turned around, her blue eyes smiling.

His ears turned red, but he kissed her even deeper.

"Click-click-click" The shutter sounded frantically.

Photography assistant: "Wow, they're filming a kiss on the forehead, it looks so much like they're deeply in love!!"

The second filming location was changed to a shrine on the mountainside.

Sakura changed into a modified Japanese-style dress with a red and white color scheme. The collar that revealed her collarbone perfectly hugged her shoulders, and her fair skin seemed to shimmer in the sunlight.

She sat on the wooden steps of the shrine, one hand gently supporting her belly and the other hand propping up her chin, her smile as warm as the early spring sun.

Photographer: "Mr. Xiuyi, the bride needs to rest. Please sit down next to her legs."

"How close?" he asked.

"Hmm...we can be a little more intimate—wait, no—!"

"Hmm..."

He kissed her lips directly.

Sakura was initially bewildered, but a few seconds later she wrapped her arms around his neck and returned his kiss with tenderness and charm, her skirt fluttering gently in the wind.

Photographer: "...I just said 'be affectionate,' not 'kiss him,' you bastard groom!!"

Assistant: "But it's so beautiful, we took a picture." Everyone fell silent.

As filming drew to a close, Sakura took off her heavy dress and changed into casual clothes to leave. However, as she walked down the shrine steps, her legs suddenly gave way.

"hiss……"

Nan Ye Xiu reacted quickly, picking her up in his arms: "What's wrong?"

“It’s okay…” Xiaoying leaned against him, her face slightly flushed. “It’s just that I walked too much… Baby might be unhappy that I’m too tired.”

"How many times have I told you not to stay away for too long?"

"Then why don't you hug me?"

"Isn't this me carrying her?" He carried her in his arms, step by step, down the stone steps.

The photography team was so surprised they filmed it: "Oh my god, the scene of the groom carrying the bride down the mountain is so dreamy!!"

"Look how gentle his eyes are! Take a picture of it! Take a picture of it!!!"

On the day the final photos were released, Sakura blushed and bit her lip as she looked through them.

"Look at you... you look like you're in heat even when you're taking wedding photos."

"I endured it very hard."

"You are not a gentleman at all."

"I don't need to be a gentleman to others, it's enough to pamper my wife."

"...Who's your wife?!"

"Soon."

She covered her face and hid in his arms, but smiled like a little fox whose secret had been caught.

Her heart had already settled down, ready to welcome their next "grand wedding".
