Chapter 71 Are you okay?
At lunchtime, the Blue Bottle near K Troupe no longer felt like a cafe, but rather a small cafeteria for K Troupe. Every table was occupied by K Troupe actors or staff, and He Jiu found a corner by the window, munching on a sandwich while typing on the keyboard.
"I heard that you applied to work from home for more than half a month?" He Jiu pulled out a chair and sat opposite Le.
Le hadn't finished the sandwich in his mouth yet. He picked up the coffee next to him and took a sip, then made a vague "hmm" sound as a response.
"Why do you want to stay home all of a sudden?" He Jiu leaned back in his chair with his arms folded, looking Le up and down. "What? Are you pregnant?"
A mouthful of coffee almost sprayed onto He Jiu's face.
"What's going on in your head?" Le wiped his mouth with a tissue and glanced at the person opposite him. "I'm going to Kobe tonight, and then follow him to Shizuoka."
"Why are you following me all of a sudden? I remember someone said before that performing is just a job for him. How can he need me to follow him just for work?" He Jiu pinched his throat and spoke in a mime-like voice, but was hit in the face by a paper ball.
"This time is different."
-Two days ago-
As soon as Le finished making dinner and came out of the kitchen, he received a bunch of messages from Guan Yue. He found her key point among the exclamation marks on the whole page - the ISU's proposal to change the rules was passed.
[The Moon Can't Be Confined: Why Isn't He Dead Yet in the ICU?! This Is Targeting Haniu! ! ! ! !]
The Moon Can't Be Confined: Are you home now? Does Haniu know about this? Is he okay now?
She looked up at the man sitting on the steps of the entrance taking off his shoes. His loose T-shirt was stretched on his back because he was slightly hunched over, revealing his beautiful back muscles.
Does he know?
Even she knew about the figure skating incident, so how could he not know?
Is he okay now?
Le was at a loss for words. When Hanyu Yuzuru returned, everything was normal. He took off his mask and hat, put away his suitcase and bag, sat down, and began to change his shoes. She checked the time; he was a little over half an hour later than usual.
It was only half an hour. If he said he was delayed on the road, it would be completely explainable.
He walked in saying he was very tired, raised his hand to rub her head, and then walked to the dining table in small steps in his slippers to see what was for dinner tonight.
His walking posture was normal, and both feet seemed to be evenly stressed, so he probably wasn't injured.
At dinner, he ate an extra piece of fried meat. Smiling, he poked the meat with his chopsticks and stuffed the whole thing into his mouth. While chewing, he mumbled praises to her that the fried meat was getting better and better, almost surpassing his mother's.
After dinner, they worked side by side in the kitchen, clearing the dishes. She rinsed them in the sink and handed them to him, and he piled them into the dishwasher one by one in order.
After everything was tidied, he curled up on the sofa and started watching the news.
Is he okay now?
Le was in the kitchen watching Yuzuru Hanyu, who was watching the international news with a serious face. The fluorescent light from the TV screen shone on his face, and it was impossible to tell his expression at the moment.
Holding the cherry tomatoes that had been chilled from the refrigerator, she sat next to him, picked up one and put it in her mouth, and then put another one in Yuzuru Hanyu's mouth.
He took it obediently, and soon another one was stuffed into his mouth. Before he could chew it, another one was stuffed into his mouth. His face was very small, and the small tomatoes stuffed into his mouth were piled up, and his cheeks were bulging, like a hamster that had stuffed its cheek pouches with melon seeds to compete with its companions for food.
Realizing that Le didn't seem to be planning to stop, Hanyu Yuzuru hurriedly increased the speed of his chewing and swallowing. At the same time, he quickly grabbed her hand that was about to continue feeding her, and with the other hand he took a tomato from the bowl and stuffed it into her mouth.
The bowl on his lap fell to the carpet from the two people's quarrel, making a dull thud, and the cherry tomatoes rolled out of the bowl. Hanyu Yuzuru grabbed his hands by his ears and pressed them against the sofa, still stubbornly holding a tomato that he had failed to put into his mouth.
"Have you given up?" He raised his eyebrows and asked condescendingly.
"I heard that the proposal was passed." Without answering his question, Le said something without thinking.
The smile disappeared from his face for a moment. He did not move, maintaining his superior and controlling posture, and hummed lightly to indicate that he understood.
"Want to talk?"
Yuzuru Hanyu buried his face in the crook of Raku's neck and laughed.
"What are you laughing at?" Le was puzzled. Her hands were not free yet, so she could only rub his furry head with her chin.
"It's so funny to laugh at you." He got up and scratched Le's nose. "Are you worried about me?"
I rolled my eyes at this nonsense.
"To be honest, I haven't sorted out my thoughts yet. I'll tell you when I do, okay? I won't make you worry, I promise."
"Okay." Le, who had regained his freedom, sat up and held his face in her hands, making him look at her. "Do you remember what you promised me?"
"You can't smile so ugly." He answered honestly.
Well... you can't smile too ugly. She can accept any emotion.
But soon, Le found that he had overestimated himself.
"Don't you think it's too hasty? Voting and such. Have these people's votes been counted rigorously?" While brushing his teeth, his mouth was still full of foam, and he complained incoherently to Le who was brushing his teeth next to him.
"And didn't everyone oppose it before? If it didn't pass at all, how can it be passed in one go? Isn't that shameless?" The person who was originally leaning against the headboard reading a book suddenly slammed the book shut and muttered to Le who was watching TV series next to him.
"If figure skating doesn't care about harmony and the quality of skating, is it still figure skating?" Turning off the lights, Yuzuru Hanyu, lying in bed looking at the ceiling, suddenly turned sideways and said to
Le asked. There was no response, as if he was asleep.
"At least, this is not the figure skating I pursue." He turned his head and continued to look at the ceiling with emotion.
Le, who was lying on his side, could hear it clearly.
Yuzuru Hanyu is a man of his words.
He had promised to be frank with Le, so his entanglement and confusion were all revealed in his mumbling over the past two days, and he frankly let Le see it.
It's a bit noisy though.
But Le still hoped that she would be by his side when he sorted out his thoughts and wanted to express them.
This time is different.
Le said this, and the words went around in Hejiu's mind for a few times, and he roughly understood what was going on.
"Is he...going to quit?" After considering it for a moment, since it was a public place after all, he didn't ask too obviously.
"Let him decide for himself." Le lowered his head and continued typing on the keyboard.
"Look at the attitude of that association right now. Even an outsider like me thinks it's ugly. No wonder Guan Yue changed her language and cursed people on Instagram."
"Can you be quiet for a moment?"
Looking up at He Jiu, her eyes were filled with longing for a quiet world.
He Jiu kept his mouth shut, which was rare for him, but the silence he had been hoping for disappeared because of a phone call from the group.
Balancing plans and changes is always exhausting. Le leaned back in her chair and stared out the window. The Shinkansen had been out of the city for a while now, and the vast expanse of suburban scenery outside the window was devoid of the city's neon lights, leaving only an indistinguishable darkness. The reflection of the lights from the train car revealed a faintly exhausted look on her face.
The headphones repeatedly played the song that the group's public relations department suggested she consider using for her next vlog. It was a song by the famous Mika Nakashima. The group was really willing to spend a lot of money, saying that they would take care of the copyright issue.
Next stop: Kobe
The station announcement sounded. Le closed her eyes, took a deep breath, and changed the music to a lighthearted one. She pulled off her mask and curled her lips into a smile at herself in the window. She glanced around, frowned slightly, and shook her head in dissatisfaction. She fished in her bag for a lipstick, dabbed it twice on her lower lip, and took a sip. The faint red color instantly brightened her face. She nodded with satisfaction and waited for the train to arrive.
When the doorbell rang, Yuzuru Hanyu was deep in his game, making no move from the sofa. It wasn't until the second ring that he tutted, shuffling his steps, his head lowered as he stared at the game console in his hand, refusing to stop. Arriving at the door, he quickly unlocked it, taking advantage of the moment when a skill swayed back, without even glancing up. He turned around, still staring at the game interface, and trotted back to the sofa.
"Mom, don't you have my room card?" he complained as he ran.
"Well, Aunt Yumi gave me the room card, but I still wanted to knock on the door and give it a try~" Le didn't get angry. He dragged his suitcase in, turned around and closed the door. He took off his mask and stood at the door, cleaning and disinfecting himself while talking to him.
The unexpected sound and the sound of the door closing rang out together. He looked up in surprise, threw down the game console in his hand, walked over quickly, hugged Le from behind, and rested his chin on her shoulder.
"Why are you here!"
"Are you willing to press the pause button?" She raised her hand and patted his forehead. "If it were Aunt Yumei, she would probably scold you again. You dared to open the door without even looking. Aren't you afraid of running into bad people?"
"No...my mom just told me that she would be here soon...that's why I..." He explained with a pout.
"That's something we have to wait and see. Don't you know how many people are trying to find out what you're thinking?" Le wanted to say this, but she kept it to herself. She lowered her eyes and changed the subject. She pulled his arm away, turned around, and gave him a slap on the head. "There are so many bad guys now. It's too careless!"
"Hmm!" He covered his forehead, knowing he was in the wrong, and helped Le put the suitcase into the house. He then thought of the question that had just been interrupted, "Why did you come here so suddenly, and..." He pointed at the suitcase that Le brought, which was about the same size as his, and continued to ask, "It looks like you will be here for several days~"
"Well, I've taken some time off and am here to accompany you."
"Really?! I'm so happy!" He put his arm around Le's waist, gave her a loud kiss on the cheek, and then kissed her on the lips. The unique scent of lip gloss passed between Hanyu's lips and teeth during this contact, and he smacked his lips and frowned.
I remember Le saying not long ago that she always forgets to put on lipstick because she wears a mask. But tonight, she actually remembered to put it on, and she applied it so lightly, obviously because she didn't want him to notice.
He thought so, cupping her face with his hands and gently rubbing his thumb over her lips, wiping away the lip gloss she'd used to enhance her complexion. This, of course, didn't remove anything, only smudged her lips, but Hanyu Yuzuru was determined.
"Le, are you feeling unwell?" He looked at her worriedly.
This question surprised Le for a moment. Could she even be discovered when she was secretly putting on makeup? But this surprise didn't make her panic. She frowned slightly and smiled bitterly, then put her arms around his waist and rubbed into his arms.
"Hmm...I'm not feeling well during my period..."
"Then let's rest early." He frowned slightly and gently stroked her hair. He didn't know if he was worried about her physical discomfort, or... the momentary panic in her eyes just now.
