Chapter 217 Talent and Effort (1/2)

"By the way, Fagga, haven't we forgotten something?"

In the dead of night, Ellen dragged her tired body to check her phone and realized it was already late. She turned off her phone and rested her head on Fagga's shoulder. Then she suddenly remembered that there was something she hadn't done yet, and mumbled incoherently.

"Is there?"

I started driving in the morning and didn't rest at night. After a long day, Fagga felt dizzy and lightheaded.

I could barely open my eyes, a wave of weariness washed over me, and I grabbed a soft pillow and wanted to sleep.

Although the pillow made a whirring sound when I hugged it, it calmed down after adjusting its position a few times.

"It seems like Bernice and the others haven't returned the SUV yet?"

Eileen tilted her head, unconsciously arching her back against Fagga's chest, her tail wrapping around Fagga's waist.

A heavy feeling settled on his side, and Fagar unconsciously reached up to touch it, muttering groggily:

"Let's talk about it tomorrow. That vehicle belongs to the squad leader, so let's not damage it. Hopefully, there's a repair shop on the outer ring road."

After saying that, Fagga tilted his head to the side and fell into a deep sleep, sniffing Eileen's beautiful hair.

Ellen fell asleep even faster than Fagga. In reality, as she drifted off to sleep, she unconsciously bit Fagga's chest, a knowing smile playing on her lips.

It seemed she was having a sweet dream, but little did she know, she caught several sardines in her sleep.

But one thing is certain.

Those two completely forgot that the class monitor and Ruby were still inside the cave.

...

In the void.

"Ptooey! Damn it, my mouth is full of sand! Hey, you two, one's a skeleton and the other's an investigator, how did we get lost in this cavern?!"

The squad leader was exhausted and could no longer drag his leaden legs. He found a spot that looked sand-free and collapsed straight down, immediately getting a mouthful of sand in his face.

After a while, the squad leader, having recovered his strength, struggled to support himself on the ground with both hands, and with great effort, he managed to lift his upper body, then tossed himself to the side and flipped himself over.

"It's not my fault!"

Ruby grumbled, then collapsed to the ground, muttering:

"You said you wanted to come to the cave to enjoy the fire-filled ride up close, but who knew that as soon as we got close to the lake of fire, it would suddenly start gushing out like it had diarrhea."

"We not only have to avoid meteorites, but also the wreckage. In the end, the void itself was altered by the massive impact, and all the data had to be recalculated. Aren't we going to re-explore the data by taking such a long detour?"

"Have you finished exploring the data?" the squad leader asked.

"No, it would be more convenient if we could find a data stub."

Ruby turned her back to the class monitor, her voice growing softer and softer, and she tapped her fingers somewhat shyly.

Hearing Ruby's barely audible voice, barely audible compared to the flapping of a mosquito's wings, the class monitor couldn't help but twitch his lips and mutter:

"Miss Ruby, are you still dreaming of finding data poles on this land of Fire Lake?"

"sorry..."

Ruby apologized quietly, also feeling that it was too strange to find a data post in such a place.

But Ruby is someone who dares to talk behind Nineveh's back, so she's got some nerve.

Suddenly, Ruby, drawing strength from who-knows-where, propped herself up and encouraged him, "But don't worry, class monitor! With my talent and hard work, I believe we'll find someone to lead us out of here soon!"

"It's because of your talent and hard work that we encountered a huge group of skeletons when we first entered the Void, and we were almost surrounded and killed!"

However, Ruby's enthusiasm was immediately dampened by the class monitor's words, and she became dejected, sobbing as she drew circles on the sand.

Seeing this, the squad leader felt a headache coming on and, feeling somewhat sorry for him, pretended to be impatient as he comforted him:

"Alright, stop crying. We're not without hope of getting out... By the way, isn't your stamina recovering a bit too quickly?"

As they were talking, the squad leader suddenly sat up, staring at his hands. With each opening and closing of his fingers, he felt a continuous flow of power into his body. His physical strength recovered much faster than usual, and even the soreness in his muscles was relieved.

The class monitor looked slightly taken aback, extremely surprised.

He originally thought his muscle soreness would last for several days and take a long time to heal.

It turned out to be done so quickly.

Upon hearing this, Ruby realized that she had regained a lot of strength; she hadn't even noticed when she inexplicably propped herself up earlier.

Ruby exclaimed in surprise, "How could this be? It's amazing, it's..."

That's right, it's my black and white doll...

The black and white doll stood proudly with its hands on its hips, its little face tilted back to the sky.

"...Little Black and White, did you make this?"

However, the next moment, the black and white doll, who was enjoying itself, suddenly had a vein twitch on its forehead, and its smile froze.

Before long, its mood took a sharp turn for the worse, and it angrily cursed:
