Chapter 258 Symbiosis Project (Part 2) (2/2)

Oh, I see!

The black and white doll tapped its little fist and suddenly interjected: "That stinky vampire also exploits other people's labor. Just recently, he pushed all the work onto that sucker who plays with the bow and arrow!"

Thump!

Fagar propped himself up and punched the black and white doll on the head. His cheeks were slightly flushed as he said irritably, "I was just joking with him. I've done that a lot of times before, okay?"

The black and white doll ignored them, floated directly behind Mrs. Merlin, buried its head in Mrs. Merlin's shawl, and said in a spoiled tone, "Mom, he bullied me!"

"Hmph~"

Mrs. Merlin smiled, then hugged the black and white doll to her arms and rubbed its little head: "Alright, we're all Victoria's children, why bother? Here, let me rub it for you."

The black and white doll squinted its eyes, like a Labrador longing for its owner's touch, greedily craving the tenderness in Mrs. Merlin's palm, and looked at Fagga triumphantly, as if mocking Fagga for not receiving Mrs. Merlin's caresses.

Fagga rolled his eyes, then slightly raised his and Ellen's intertwined hands, showing them off to others like a child.

Mrs. Merlin couldn't help but smile at this, and said coquettishly, "Alright, you two. The two of you combined are probably older than me, aren't you? Don't act like little kids."

"Let's get back to our previous topic; now we're getting to the main point."

Upon hearing this, both the black and white doll and Fagga sat up straight.

Clearly, they also realized how important Mrs. Merlin's next words were.

"No matter how much the vampire race may not want to admit it, the problem remains undeniable—there's something wrong with the underlying code of this civilization!"

Sure enough, Mrs. Merrill's opening remarks were shocking:

"The vampire civilization does not engage in production, which means that no matter how powerful they become, they can only be a parasitic civilization, directly plundering the nutrients of the civilization they parasitize."

"However, this presents another problem for the vampire clan—human civilization is too powerful!"

"So powerful that the vampire clan, this parasite that grovels above human civilization, is almost completely assimilated by human civilization!"

Fagga was somewhat puzzled: "Assimilation? What does that mean?"

"Pure-blooded vampires can't reproduce well, while humans can reproduce far too easily!"

Mrs. Merlin explained, "With half-blood vampires as the link, human society influences half-blood vampires, while half-blood vampires in turn subtly influence pure-blood vampires."

"Think about it, Fag. When a pure-blooded vampire is strolling around his territory, he suddenly sees a group of half-vampires celebrating a human festival. Wouldn't you be curious and go over to take a look?"

"In the long run, the vampire race will eventually become the dumping ground of human civilization. No matter what form of cultural export it takes, it can come in and go out as it pleases."

"When that time comes, some vampires will speak up for humans and even look forward to their arrival."

"Then, when the day comes that humans actually attack, these vampires might just become collaborators and deliver a fatal blow to the vampire race!"

Mrs. Merlin paused at this point, picked up the glucose glass beside her, took a small sip, and continued:

“The elders saw this crisis, so they had to take action.”

"Therefore, the transformation of civilization is imminent!"

"Option 1: Civilization Evolution - Predator Civilization!"

"Evolve the parasite to the extreme! This time, we will not only devour the flesh and blood of human civilization, but also swallow their souls."

"Launch a war against humanity, utterly defeat them, and then keep them firmly under your feet for life, making them slaves for eternity!" (Note 1)

"Option Two: Civilization Coexistence - Organelle Civilization"

"Parasites choose to integrate into the host and become an inseparable part of the host. Like mitochondria, they are irreplaceable to the organism." (Note 2)

After saying that, Mrs. Merlin looked at Fagga very seriously and said solemnly, "Faga, the tribe has chosen to pursue two paths simultaneously."

"But we took the second path."

...

[Note 1: Predator Civilization: Some people may say that slaves would rebel and that such a civilization could not exist, but it actually does exist.]

Take, for example, our neighbor, a large country in South Asia.

Their experience tells us that as long as people are stratified into classes—Brahmins, Kshatriyas, untouchables, etc.—it's impossible to overthrow the upper class if the people are not united. Not to mention that even within the same caste, those who shovel manure will look down on those who collect garbage, and those who collect garbage will look down on those who carry corpses; each has its own hierarchy of contempt.

[Note 2: Organelle Civilization: Some scientists speculate that the precursors of both mitochondria and chloroplasts may have been parasitic bacteria or viruses.]

However, unlike other purely parasitic bacteria or viruses, they do more than just parasitize; they also do work and bring benefits to the cells.

Then, over time, they were incorporated into the cell's regular army, namely organelles.
