Chapter 51 (Second Update) "Tianpeng, I've only heard..."

Bao'e was taken to a tree by the traveler and swung back and forth by a vine.

She only heard the whistling wind and cursed him, "You rascal, you're playing me like a wild man! I'll really beat you twice before you'll behave!"

The traveler couldn't stop laughing.

He stopped in the tree, looked at her, and was overjoyed. Suddenly, he bit her cheek.

"What kind of evil spirit dares to impersonate me and bully my junior sister!" The Great Sage suddenly appeared out of nowhere and swung his staff straight at the traveler.

The pilgrim also raised his staff to parry and fought with him, laughing and cursing: "You impudent monkey, you're the one who transformed into my appearance, how dare you turn around and hit your grandfather?"

The Great Sage sneered: "Enough talk, take this!"

The two travelers each rode on clouds, fighting their way from the cave entrance to the heavens.

Bao'e stood on the tree, staring blankly at the two of them.

She initially recognized the Great Sage, but the two of them looked and dressed in ordinary clothes. As they fought, she quickly lost her ability to tell them apart.

She was dizzy watching it and nodded: "Good monkey, good monkey! Even monkey shows don't perform like this. It's not like a monkey fight, it's more like they're making fun of me. Fight, fight, kill one, at least leave one to go on the journey to the West."

Bao'e jumped down from the tree, muttering to herself all the way.

Fearing they would hit her, she headed straight for the Water Curtain Cave, intending to grab her luggage and escape.

Unexpectedly, she had only taken two steps when a bunch of little monkeys swarmed around her, laughing and giggling.

"Don't go, don't go! Stop playing tricks on us!"

"Grandma's here! Grandma's here!"

"The two Great Sages are fighting. Grandma, should we keep both of them? With three Great Kings guarding them, no one will dare to bully them."

A brood of baby monkeys made a ruckus, jumping on her head and rolling in her arms. Some even stuffed fruit into her mouth and tried to swing her on a swing.

Good Bao'e was treated like a monkey king and got covered in warm monkey fur.

She plucked one, then another; she swallowed a grape, then another.

The food tasted sweet in her mouth, but her heart was bitter. She mumbled and cursed, "These rascals, how dare they call me grandma! Who are you to play tricks on me? Do you think you can trick me into being a mountain king? Go away! Go away! Go away!"

She pulled the little monkey off, and with practiced ease, went straight into the Water Curtain Cave, found the two green felt bundles, and ran out.

As soon as she came out, she bumped into two travelers.

The one on the left shouted, "Wu Miao!"

The one on the right calls out, "My dear sister!"

Bao'e was confused: "Brother, you call me one by one, but when you call me together, I don't know who to answer first."

The traveler on the left said, "Wumiao, this fellow fought me to a standstill. You can tell who's the real one."

The traveler on the right said, "My dear sister, it's one thing for him to impersonate me, but he still wants to go on the pilgrimage. You be the one to discern who is real and who is fake!"

Bao'e looked to the left and then to the right, but couldn't see any difference; even the voices were exactly the same.

She asked, "Back then at Fuling Mountain, you transformed into a human to scare me. Only the one who actually did it would know who you were."

The two replied at the same time, "We'll transform into that young master Gao and scare you into eating a sour and astringent fruit."

Bao'e nodded: "That's right, that's right."

The two men asked her, "Can you tell the difference?"

"No, no." Bao'e scratched her head and asked again, "Senior brother, did you eat the ginseng fruit I gave you?"

The two of them said at the same time, "We ate it, we ate it! You even shared half with us, have you forgotten?"

The traveler on the left pointed to the right: "Him, him! This fellow is utterly unruly."

The traveler on the right pointed to the left: "It's him! My dear sister, don't be fooled."

"Quiet down, quiet down, I'm dizzy." Bao'e suddenly stepped forward. "Two senior brothers, that tree bit me just now. Let me see your teeth."

She cupped the face of the traveler on the left, squeezed his cheeks, and forced him to open his mouth so she could see his silver teeth.

He then pinched the face of the traveler on the right and examined it closely, but found that there was no difference.

But as she withdrew her hand, the traveler suddenly clenched his teeth, his sharp canines brushing against her fingertips, making her feel itchy.

She couldn't help but shake her hand, but he chuckled and asked, "Sister, did you recognize me?"

"Difficult, difficult!" Bao'e was confused. "I can't tell the difference, brother. Let's find another helper."

The traveler on the left said, "If that's the case, then I'll go with this demon to the South Sea to find Guanyin Bodhisattva and ask her to determine the truth!"

The one on the right said, "That's right, the Bodhisattva recognizes this old Sun!"

Bao'e tried to leave upon hearing this, but was pulled back by the one on the right.

He said, "My dear sister, don't run away. Come with me to the South China Sea."

Bao'e said, "Brother, I'm not a fake, why would I need to seek out the Bodhisattva?"

The one on the left also grabbed her: "Wumiao, don't get entangled with this demon, come with me."

Bao'e: "Brother, stop pulling. Do you want to tear it in two, each of us taking half, and then ask the Bodhisattva to piece it back together as a whole body?"

The one on the right pulled her along, saying, "Come with me. This demon is too arrogant. She dares to hit her master. Be careful, or I'll beat you up too."

"You vile devil! You're spouting utter nonsense! I'd rather beat you to death with a stick than settle this score!"

The two men released her and then began fighting again with their sticks.

Before long, the two of them grabbed Bao'e, who was trying to run away, and each of them grabbed one of her arms, and headed towards the South China Sea.

They fought and cursed all the way, shouting incessantly, making Bao'e dizzy and her eyes bulge.

Upon arriving at Mount Luojia in the South China Sea, the Bodhisattva saw the two arguing endlessly and secretly recited the "Tightening Spell" to try and distinguish between truth and falsehood.

Unexpectedly, both travelers clutched their heads, cried out in pain, and rolled on the ground, shouting, "Don't chant! Don't chant!"

After the Bodhisattva stopped, the two of them started fighting again.

After pondering for a moment, the Bodhisattva decided to send the two pilgrims to the Heavenly Palace in the Upper Realm to ask the gods for their opinion.

The two indeed listened and, grabbing Bao'e, headed towards the Heavenly Court.

Exhausted and panting, Bao'e couldn't help but say, "One is better; two are too noisy. Brother, why don't one stay on Flower Fruit Mountain and be the king, and the other go on the journey to the West with that old monk? Whoever is willing to go on the journey to the West with Master is the true Monkey King."

The two men chuckled coldly and then grabbed each other's heads and slit their necks.

Upon arriving at the Heavenly Palace, a group of celestial beings also acted as helpers, distinguishing between the real and the fake.

Bao'e dragged her rake to the side, staring blankly into space.

Suddenly, something landed on her head with a dull thud.

She looked up and saw a bright red embroidered ball.

As the hydrangea moved, a beautiful face came into view, with a face as white as powder and lips as red as cinnabar. Her expression was proud and dignified.

“That Tianpeng,” he said, taking back the embroidered ball and crossing his arms, “I heard that you were sent by the Bodhisattva to retrieve the scriptures, but instead of going to the Western Paradise, you trespassed into the Heavenly Palace. What are you doing?”

Bao'e recognized him as Prince Nezha, but said, "You've misunderstood. If anyone trespassed, it was those two monkeys. It has nothing to do with me. If you want to hit someone, don't mistake them for someone else."

Nezha raised an eyebrow at her: "Aren't you in the Heavenly Court's territory?"

"I'm leaving now." Bao'e picked up two bundles, but he hooked them with his demon-slaying sword.

"Don't go!" he laughed. "Tianpeng, I've only heard that you were mistakenly reborn as a pig when you descended to the mortal realm. How come I only see human ears and not pig ears?"
