Chapter 59 (Second Update) "I am determined to get married..."

Bai Gu said, "There's only one thing: we must be careful to guard against that demon named Cang Shuo."

Bao'e: "Brother, what's the reason for this?"

“Cang Shuo is the disciple of the Great King of Inspiration. Although he cannot speak human language, he has a keen sense of smell and can detect the scent of the young boy and girl. If you want to take them away, you must avoid him.”

Bao'e said, "That's not difficult, not difficult at all! Let me break his nose with a rake, and he won't be able to smell anything."

Bai Gu gave a slight, cold laugh: "You're willing to part with that handsome face?"

The fool laughed and said, "Brother, you are unfortunate. If you had a compassionate heart, you wouldn't be so concerned about personal feelings."

Bai Gu said, "There's no need to worry too much. Although Cang Shuo is capable, he is not close to King Linggan."

"How so?"

"He has only been in this water palace for less than a month. It's just that the Great King Linggan saw that he was capable and wanted to recruit him for his own use."

Just then, a little demon came to report.

Bai Gu wiped his face, transforming into the appearance of a spotted mandarin duck woman.

The little demon said, "Grandma, the King has ordered that you bring this demon to the main hall for a talk."

Bai Gu asked him what was wrong, but he said he didn't know.

The demon was uneasy, but fearing that the Great King of Inspiration would discover something was wrong, she had no choice but to do as he was told.

He led Bao'e to the main hall, where the Great King Linggan said, "My dear sister, I've picked out a good demon for you to take with you."

Bai Gu said, "Your Majesty, I prefer peace and quiet. I already have one, so I don't need another. I'll keep the other one for Your Majesty to use."

"Don't talk back." The Great King of Inspiration smiled insincerely and pointed at Bao'e, "Although this demon is useless, my son insists on marrying her. My dear sister, you keep her here and choose someone else."

Bai Gujian's smile faded as he looked at the mermaid beside King Linggan.

But then he saw that the demon had a sinister face and was staring intently at him. His gaze seemed to want to tear him to pieces.

Bao'e suddenly said, "You old vixen, you know your place! I am a useless demon, so let me go."

The King of Inspiration said, "If we don't get married, I'll just send you somewhere."

Bao'ehu asked anxiously, "Where?"

"In the pot, huh?" King Inspiration sneered. "Boil and eat, or tie it up in a cage and steam it whole."

"Father!" Bao'e cried out in panic, "I'm only thinking about getting married, I have no other thoughts."

"Alright, alright." King Linggan looked at Cang Shuo, "My son, take her away, and don't let her keep circling around in front of me."

Cang Shuo stepped forward, but Bai Gu suddenly moved aside and stood in front of Bao E.

Bai Gu was about to speak when he saw Cang Shuo open his mouth and squeeze out a few words expressionlessly: "Lewd slut."

His speech was vague and somewhat unfamiliar.

Bai Gu was taken aback.

Taking advantage of the moment, the mermaid grabbed Bao'e and led her away.

The mermaid, accompanied by Bao'e, headed straight for her underwater palace.

He remained silent throughout the journey when suddenly a long-legged mantis shrimp came running up to him.

The mantis shrimp stopped him and asked, "Your Majesty, the King has decided to eat Tang Sanzang. Why are you leading this demon in the opposite direction?"

Cang Shuo remained silent, coldly watching him. He first pulled Bao E behind him, then drew his sword and slashed at the shrimp woman.

Good shrimp, in a flash, she transformed into Sun Wukong.

He deftly dodged, chuckling, "You mute rascal! Since you know your maternal grandfather, you'd better return my master and junior sister to me as soon as possible. If you refuse, I'll make sure you die a horrible death!"

Bao'e couldn't help but say, "Senior brother, you can't use your staff skills in this water. Don't provoke him, or we siblings will die together."

The pilgrim mocked her: "The underworld can't take me, Old Sun. You won't die either; you'll have to stay in this water palace to find a husband."

Bao'e was furious: "You damned monkey, I would never do such a thing!"

The pilgrim said, "You've already called me 'father,' what's there to argue about? It just so happens that Master is here, let's become in-laws. I'll act as matchmaker and keep you here, what do you say?"

"Nonsense, nonsense!" Bao'e thought angrily.

Just then, the Great King of Inspiration led a group of demons to capture the traveler, and she grabbed her rake and began to beat him wildly.

She shouted, "You monster! Release my master at once, or you'll suffer a terrible death! Take this!"

The Great King of Inspiration sneered, "You wretched demon, you refuse to enjoy wealth and glory, choosing instead to seek death. I'll fight you a few rounds; if you lose, not only will you not return your master, but you'll also be eaten!"

He wielded a nine-lobed bronze hammer, using it to block the rake, and led a group of lesser demons to capture the traveler.

The traveler was not good at swimming, so he quickly leaped out of the water.

Sha Wujing, however, was a good swimmer. He rushed into the water palace, drew his magic staff, and began to fight Cang Shuo.

It was quite a battle. All four were military generals, each displaying their skills. They fought for a full hour without a clear winner.

Meanwhile, Bai Gu saw that Linggan Dawang had left the water palace, and that Cang Shuo had been entangled by Sha Wujing. He hurriedly went to the back room to rescue the group of boys and girls and led them out of the water.

The traveler waited on the east bank, his eyes fixed on him. When he saw him coming, he drew his stick to strike.

"Great Sage, don't fight!" Bai Gu said. "I am here on the orders of the Great Immortal Zhen Yuanzi to rescue these children."

He then told him the purpose of his trip, and the Great Sage replied, "I, Old Sun, am not one to harm people indiscriminately. Considering you have reformed and done a good deed, I will not punish you. I will need you to help me by escorting these children back to Chen Family Village. I will stay here and fight that demon!"

Bai Gu hesitated for a moment, then said, "Great Sage, you may not know, but I have stayed in this water palace for several years and have found out that the demon has a background."

The traveler asked, "What is your origin? Tell me, tell me."

"He was a fish spirit in the lotus pond of Guanyin Bodhisattva in the South China Sea."

The pilgrim pondered and said, "If that's the case, then I'll have to go up to Putuo Rock to ask the Bodhisattva."

After saying this, he quickly rode on a beam of auspicious light and rushed to the South China Sea.

Unbeknownst to Bao'e and Sha Wujing, they were still locked in a fierce battle with the Great King Linggan.

Cang Shuo was focused on fighting Sha Wujing, but seeing that Linggan King was becoming increasingly ruthless and wishing he could kill Bao'e, he hesitated for a moment before finally turning his blade around and slashing at the king.

The King of Inspiration cursed, "You ignorant and wicked beast, how dare you turn around and kill me?"

The mermaid didn't respond, but instead wielded a sharp sword without mercy.

Sha Wujing, not knowing why, but knowing that killing the demon was the priority, also joined in the fight against the Great King Linggan.

King Linggan was no match for the three, and was finally killed by Bao'e with a single blow of her rake, turning into minced meat.

Therefore, when the Bodhisattva arrived with the purple bamboo basket, the Great King of Inspiration had already died.

She glanced around and, upon seeing the white-clad figure, knew that this matter was related to Zhen Yuanzi.

“Wukong,” she said, “that demon was a goldfish I raised in my lotus pond. Now that he is dead, quickly go into the water and save your master.”

Wukong then went to find Bao'e and Sha Wujing, and taught them to split the waterway to rescue Tang Sanzang.

The Bodhisattva then saw the vast expanse of the sea.

“That demon,” she asked, “have you accepted my precepts?”

The mermaid spirit ignored her, only staring intently at Bao'e.

Bao'e said, "Bodhisattva, he cannot understand human speech."

The Bodhisattva looked at her and smiled, "Wumiao, have you been diligently cultivating yourself?"

The fool said, "I recite scriptures in my heart every day."

The Bodhisattva seemed to sigh, but said nothing more, only explaining, "He is a newly formed mermaid spirit, so naturally he cannot understand human language. Once he comes with me to cultivate, he will eventually tame his wild nature. Otherwise, this demon may follow you to the Western Paradise and never leave your side."

After saying this, she stepped onto the clouds, threw down the purple bamboo basket, and chanted an incantation.

Before long, Cang Shuo transformed into a black-scaled fish and was put into the basket.

She took the mermaid spirit away and told Bai Gu to return to Wuzhuang Temple before turning back to the South China Sea.

After Wukong rescued Sanzang, the four of them returned to Chen Family Village.

The Great King Linggan is dead, and the children have been rescued. The villagers are extremely grateful and kowtow in thanks. Some people even said, "Now that the demon is dead, let's demolish the Linggan Temple."

Bao'e suddenly said, "Don't push it away! Why not build a temple for the Great King Bao'e and have people worship me?"

Sanzang scolded her: "Wumiao, stop talking nonsense."

Bao'e said, "Master, you've gone to so much trouble to get your name back, so don't say anything more, lest you lose it again."

"You idiot, when has this humble monk ever changed his name?"

"When you fell into that water palace before, did you change your name to 'Chen to the bottom'?"

Everyone laughed upon hearing this, but the elder frowned and sighed repeatedly.

The master and his disciples packed their belongings and prepared to head west.

The people of Chenjiazhuang originally wanted to pool their resources to give them a boat, but an old turtle emerged from the Tongtian River, saying that it wanted to thank them for killing Linggan and would take the master and his disciples across the river.

After crossing the river, the four travelers continued their journey westward.

It was still autumn, but the further they went, the hotter it got.

Bao'e was panting heavily from exhaustion, and she would occasionally pull at her clothes to wipe away the sweat, complaining, "I worked so hard to get a few new clothes, but I haven't even worn them yet, and the weather is already so hot."

Sanzang said, "It's really strange. It's still autumn, but there's heat."

Bao'e said, "Master, may I take off all my clothes and leave?"

The monk was so startled that he almost fell off his horse. He cursed, "You scoundrel, you're spouting nonsense again!"

Bao'e was so hot that she kept humming.

She asked, "Back then, when I was a pig, no one came to give me clothes, and I was carefree and happy every day. Why do I have to be wrapped in cloth now that I've become a human?"

Sanzang frowned and strained, but couldn't find the words to scold her.

Sun Wukong was so happy that he almost fell over: "Back then, I was a monkey. It was only when I went to learn skills that I learned to wear clothes like a human."

Bao'e nodded repeatedly: "Good monkey, even though it's not human, it understands human nature so well."

The traveler scolded her: "Fool, stop talking nonsense!"

Bao'e couldn't stand the heat any longer. She wished she could transform into a pig and run around freely, but she was also afraid that a demon would come out and roast her to eat. So she could only endure it in every way.

As she was walking, she suddenly heard someone shout, "Help! Help!"

Bao'e looked up.

A child of about seven or eight years old was hanging from a tree not far away, crying out for help with tears in his eyes.
