Did he nod to confirm that they would be okay? Selina was confused, but she couldn't confirm it with Henry in front of the butler.
When the carriage stopped, Selina's heartbeat seemed to slow down, like a prisoner going to the execution ground.
They were taken to a room in the basement of the Duke's Mansion, and although Selina kept asking questions along the way, the butler didn't say a word.
"Come in."
The butler opened the door of a room, and before the two of them could react, the guards behind them pushed them in.
In the dim room, several strong men tied the two men directly to the chairs.
The candlelight flickered, making the Duke and Duchess' faces look somewhat scary.
"Henry, how about this room? I've come up with some new ideas to increase the friendship between our two families."
The Duke's voice was gloomy. Despite the promise of the God of Faith, Henry still trembled a little. He had seen the horrible torture instruments on the wall.
"Your Excellency the Duke is really creative! I am terrified that you have gone to so much trouble to improve our friendship! Can we go to another room to chat?"
"Hahahahahaha! Henry, you're very funny!"
The Duke laughed out loud.
The Duchess came straight over with a red-hot iron.
"Selina, do you think I'm easy to talk to? Are you trying to raise the price by breaking your promise? Or are you getting too cocky and need my help to loosen up a little?"
She whispered in Selina's ear. The red-hot iron that Selina had already seen stopped in front of her eyes, and her eyes were full of fear.
Where did Henry's confidence come from?! Was he really going to die here today?!
