The key fell to the ground. Cui Zixuan looked at the face under the robe, and the fear in her heart suddenly rose.
It was a wrinkled, old face with sunken cheeks and matted white hair. Her eyes were filled with confusion and resentment as she looked at him absentmindedly.
Although she was so old, Cui Zixuan already had a guess in her heart. This was the source of her fear. She couldn't believe what she saw.
"Who are you?!"
Cui Zixuan was a little afraid to step forward, but she really wanted to verify her guess.
The old woman's confused eyes seemed to be lost in memories. The scene before her had happened before, but she didn't know how long she had waited and her memory had begun to blur.
"Who am I...you actually know very well."
The shriveled hands took off the robe from his head.
"Waiting for you means my time is almost up. It seems I still haven't waited for Ji Chuan to save the world..."
The old woman raised a wry smile on her face and looked around at the white bones with a somewhat lonely look in her eyes.
"She, they, and I are all you."
Cui Zixuan met the old man's eyes in disbelief and shook her head helplessly. Even though she could tell that the old man looked like herself, she still didn't want to believe it.
"Why? How could this happen? You are lying to me, right?!"
"There is no time. The last time I saw her, I didn't want to believe it. We are all trapped here. This is a forgotten place, a place that the monster will never find. The key in your hand is the only tool to enter here."
"What we can do is put on this dream robe and pass three messages to the original world. I'm sure you already know the third one, but if the world has been saved, the third one will not be needed."
"The hermit enters the world, the artifact is recovered, heroes gather, and the world prospers?!"
Cui Zixuan shouted out loudly. It was because of this sentence that she entered this world.
The old man nodded.
Was he tricked into coming here by himself? Was the other party really himself? What was the monster he mentioned? Was it the monster that caused the psychic base to gradually lose contact?
"What are the first two pieces of information? How can I remember them if I don't have any paper or pen?!"
"After I die, you will remember when you put on this robe. When the prophet awakens, you can wear the dream robe and enter his dream..."
"What prophet?! Where to enter? How can I survive with so little water and food left!"
The old woman's eyes began to lose focus, and it was unclear whether it was despair or relief, tears rolled down from the corners of her eyes.
"I hope you can leave here and don't have to let yourself in again..."
The old man lowered his head weakly, and no matter how Cui Zixuan asked, he didn't say anything.
Cui Zixuan bravely walked forward, put her trembling hand under the old man's nose, and found that he was no longer breathing.
"ah!"
Cui Zixuan was so scared that she fell to the ground. She didn't want to be in the same room with a dead person.
She picked up the key and ran back the way she came. She didn't want to stay here any longer, but the door behind her had closed at some point.
She tried to use her supernatural powers, but they couldn't take her away from here. This room was like a cover, and she was a trapped insect.
Cui Zixuan cried and banged on the door, but it was all in vain.
She looked at the corpse and the bones on the ground, and leaned limply against the door.
If what the other party said was true, then how many lifetimes have I died in this room...
Did Ji Chuan really fail all the time? So before he saved the world, he was trapped in this forgotten space, falling into an endless cycle of life after life.
If nothing unexpected happens, will I die here? Will Ji Chuan succeed in this life...
Cui Zixuan felt desperate. She was going to spend the rest of her life alone in this room. The thought of it was a very scary thing.
Will I still be able to remember this important information before I die?
It took her a long time to adjust her mindset, and she mustered up the courage to walk towards the old man's body. She prayed that maybe it was not what she thought.
Could this old man be a psychopath who just talks nonsense?
Cui Zixuan took off the old man's robe and bravely examined the old man's features.
A birthmark on the inside of my forearm, a mole above my collarbone, a tiny scar on my ankle...
Cui Zixuan felt a chill on her back again. This old man had the same physical characteristics as her...
"Why...why did you give me such a painful task?! Is it because you are afraid of death? Do you want me to die in such a painful way?!"
Cui Zixuan burst into tears and even slapped herself hard to make sure this was not a nightmare.
She dragged the old man's body to the side of the bones, and came to the old man's previous position in a daze.
Not to mention letting her wait until she gets old, the food in the backpack will only last her a week at most, and she will die here within 10 days.
She buried her head in her knees, feeling extremely exhausted from helplessness and despair.
Looking at the robe on the ground, Cui Zixuan was considering whether to put it on. At least it would make herself warmer. She always felt a little cold in the empty room.
She still walked to the robe and put it on. She didn't know if it was her illusion, but after putting on the robe, she didn't feel hungry. Was this the reason why she could survive?
But living alone like this is much better than being dead...
"No... I can't die... Maybe my role is very important, and it may determine whether the world can be saved..."
