He knew that there was only one direction for her to escape, the underworld.
He sat at a table, his eyes full of calmness. Even Li Zang felt that something was wrong with the atmosphere and said weakly, "Your Majesty..."
He ignored Li Zang and even accidentally pushed the inkstone to the ground. The crisp sound, the splashing ink, and the inkstone broken into several pieces were very similar to his heart that was on the verge of breaking.
It turns out that it really does hurt.
"Take one thousand flying zombies and arrive at the underworld in three days. Attack the Ghost Gate!" Ming Ye gave the order calmly, without any emotion in his words, as if he was talking about a very ordinary thing.
Li Zang, however, trembling with fear, wiped his sweat repeatedly and said, "Your Majesty, one thousand flying zombies to break through the underworld... is that enough?"
Mingye glanced at Li Zang, and Li Zang finally swallowed the words that were stuck in his throat. He received the order and walked out of the hall.
Although she was able to break through Mingye's barrier, it took her a lot of effort. Fortunately, there was no barrier at the city gate. She swallowed the fishy and sweet taste in her throat. Even though her heart and lungs hurt so much, she still gathered her spiritual power and flew towards the underworld like the wind.
However, she really overestimated herself. When she flew to Kyoto, she fell straight down like a bird with broken wings. Falling from such a great height, she felt that she would either become a lunatic or be half-dead.
There were sparrows chirping all around. She tried her best to gather her strength, but she couldn't hold back her blood and it spurted out. The whistling sound of the wind in her ears seemed unimportant. Just as she was about to smash the roof of someone's house, a man in a white robe hugged her from the air.
Then the man tapped the tiles with his toes and flew towards the sky again.
Sunlight filtered through the clouds, casting a hazy glow on the man's face. However, Jiuxi was certain of who he was. As he sat down on the clouds, the uneasy feeling finally faded. A few traces of blood trickled from the corners of Jiuxi's mouth as he leisurely greeted him, "My Lord, long time no see."
The winding hem of Yuebai Xianjun's robe fell down, and his whole face was filled with an indifferent expression. He said, "Every time I see you, you are so embarrassed, Jiuxi."
But he hadn't come here to mock her. Instead, his expression grew more serious as he said, "The Immortal Realm may be about to undergo a major change. If the situation gets affected, could the Underworld give this Immortal Lord some shelter?"
His words were half serious and half teasing, which made her feel very uncomfortable. She had no choice but to sit up and regulate her breathing in silence. Yuebai saw her dejected face and said, "This immortal sneaked into the zombie world and heard a piece of news. Jiuxi, do you want to hear it?"
It was a bit noisy, but she was still a little shocked and asked, "What news?"
"His Highness Cang Ling also went to the zombie world and sent a letter to the Corpse King." At this point, Yue Bai Xianjun hesitated, as if to whet Jiu Xi's appetite. However, Jiu Xi still closed his eyes and regulated his breathing, seemingly not caring about the deep meaning of his words. After a while, Yue Bai Xianjun finally couldn't hold it in any longer and said, "The letter says that you are in the fairy world..."
Before he could finish his words, Jiuxi interrupted him coldly, his voice filled with deep weariness, and said, "This king knows."
Yuebai couldn't quite see Jiuxi clearly. Looking at her stunning face, he said quietly, "How about I go and explain this to the Corpse King?"
Jiuxi shook her head in a paranoid manner and just kept regulating her breathing. She and him... it was time to end it. Any misunderstandings were no longer important. What mattered was his life.
If you lose your life, what's the point of talking about love?
She opened her eyes and looked at the distant sky, but Jin Li's figure flashed through her mind. She didn't know whether she had successfully expelled Jin Li's inner demon.
