CompletedIn countless worlds, everyone is born with a different script. Everyone wants to be the dazzling protagonist, but there are always those who are dealt the hand of a tragic supporting character.
Until one day, a ray of light suddenly shines into their dark, hopeless lives: "The world has been terrible to you, and I swear to compensate you for it!"
Unit 1: (Non-human Shou)
In a rebirth novel, the protagonist ascends to the peak of life through exquisite emotional intelligence and precognition. I, of course, am not that protagonist, but merely a supporting character who got in the way and was unfortunately abducted to a mountainous region. I was trafficked, then found, then disliked, and then abandoned...
Until a figure knelt before me: "They don't want you, but I do."
Later, that person—or rather, that monster—slowly revealed its complete form before me. Continuously wriggling "black lines" wove into a giant, soft "blanket," completely enveloping me. [Loveless, pitiful Gong * Non-human, 'male mom' Shou]
Unit 2: (Guide/Sentinel)
In a bittersweet story, the protagonist and their partner play out a silent drama of unspoken love. I am neither the protagonist nor their partner, but the protagonist's supporting character father, who died young and was never met. I am extremely unlucky not to live in a future with highly developed medical technology and flying vehicles, but in an ancient era when Guides and Sentinels first appeared.
As one of the first students after the Tower was built, a renowned excellent student, I was supposed to have a bright future, but one day I unexpectedly lost my sight. During this time, I met my partner, married them, and life seemed very happy, until I received a viewer comment: "Be careful of him, he's the one who made you blind!" [Gong: Gentleness is his facade, indifference is his true nature] [Shou: The exact opposite of the above]
Unit 3: (Non-human Gong)
As a mere backdrop to the story, my entire life was just casual gossip exchanged by the protagonists on their dates: A monster with a human head and snake body, violently subdued like a beast by a circus since childhood. If I showed even slight disobedience, thorny whips and high-voltage electric shocks fell upon me. I had no choice but to comply, becoming the troupe's cash cow.
My long tail prevented me from walking, so for almost a decade, I crawled and performed on the ground for people's amusement, until I was abandoned by the circus due to severe illness. As the small monster curled up on the cold street, waiting for death, someone suddenly stopped. That heavy sigh was exceptionally clear. "I finally found you."
Unit 4: (Urban Fantasy)
Every "crime investigation" novel has a serial murder case, just waiting for the protagonist to appear for an easy resolution. I am merely an unnamed supporting character who sacrifices themselves before the protagonist even arrives. For years, I diligently worked, and with the unveiling of one murder case, more and more cases with similar methods gradually emerged, with all arrows pointing at me.
I didn't know that the world I was in was just a game, nor did I know that the real culprit possessed supernatural means. Mentally disturbed, I fell into self-doubt. I was supposed to die accidentally in a daze, but someone's arrival changed everything. "Believe me, I've been reborn."
Reading Tips:
1. Each unit has different protagonists. The Gong is a minor supporting character in the story, while the Shou is a savior with a system to reverse fate. The 'arrow' of affection from the Shou is thick from the start, and the Gong's 'arrow' will reciprocate during their interactions!
2. The strength and weakness attributes are not fixed; the character settings and experiences vary, with both weaker and stronger characters, but no matter how weak, there will absolutely be no 'switching sides' (gong becoming shou). Having grown a bit tired of the task-taker's perspective, I'm trying to view it from the perspective of the rescued. Anyway, it's a sweet story, like a daily journal...
