The trending search term is "Anti-drug hero says: He is my son".
Clicking on the trending topic reveals a short video of about ten seconds. In the video, Sheng Weide only says one sentence: "He is my son. I believe he will not neglect his duties, much less stand by and watch someone die."
It was just a simple sentence, but the person in the video was missing an eye, making the image extremely impactful. Sheng Weide, who dedicated his life to his work and saved countless lives, left comments below, including from the parents of the girl he had rescued a few days prior.
The situation took a dramatic turn when Sheng Weide used the good deeds he had cultivated over the decades to turn the tide in this battle of public opinion for Mo Huaixing.
Gan Tang sighed, "My father is still the best. Dad is Dad."
The person next to her didn't react, only her brow twitched slightly, and she gently patted him.
Mo Huaixing reminded him expressionlessly, "I told you to post on Weibo, why are you looking at random things?"
"Keep pretending," Gan Tang secretly rolled her eyes. Suddenly, she turned to Mo Huaixing and said worriedly, "I just said you're not. If you post this now, people will think I'm a big liar. Can you post it later?"
"not good."
He's a real iron-faced devil.
Gan Tang reluctantly opened her photo album to select pictures. After she finished selecting the photos, she opened Weibo again, and a trending topic titled "Beauties have always loved heroes" appeared on the search results.
There is a stunning photo inside: at the temple fair in the evening, Gantang is nestled beside Mo Huaixing, walking along the Qing Shi River, with a towering pagoda behind them.
Golden light bathed the two of them. The girl gazed tenderly at the man beside her, her eyes overflowing with fervent admiration. Against the backdrop of the pagoda, the already tall and handsome Mo Huaixing resembled a male protagonist from a novel.
I don't know who took this picture.
Gan Tang scrolled through the comments below and complained, "Why are they all praising how handsome you are?"
Mo Huaixing tapped the screen in dissatisfaction, "Don't delay, send it quickly."
"Yes, my lord." Gan Tang changed the photo, a topless picture of him taken while he was sleeping. There were two very obvious gunshot wounds on the photo, one from when he was saving Fu Cheng, and the other from Canglan. There were countless other small wounds.
Gan Tang posted this tag with the caption: He's not handsome at all. He doesn't have eight-pack abs; all he has are scars all over his body.
"Okay, all sent." Gan Tang smiled and put away her phone.
"Let me see."
Gan Tang retorted arrogantly, "Why should I let you see my phone? If you want to see it, use your own phone."
Mo Huaixing had no choice but to obediently open his phone to check.
"Gantang, why did you post this photo?" He was furious.
Gan Tang laughed: "If I have such a private photo of you, of course I'm your wife. This is called being subtle."
"Delete it, delete it quickly."
"No, no."
Seeing that she couldn't protect him with force, Gan Tang pressed down on his shoulders and kissed him.
"I won't delete it, okay..."
"not good."
"Mmm...husband..."
"Well……"
"...Mmm...My darling husband...you're so handsome...mmm..."
"..."
On the way back to Jinhai, the man kept glancing at the woman beside him, looking utterly dejected. How could he have agreed to her so easily?
Meanwhile, the other person gazed happily at the scenery outside the car window.
"Mo Huaixing, look, the flowers are blooming, and the seagulls are flying..."
After a long silence, Gan Tang turned to the man beside her, her eyes filled with heartache: "Honey, are you tired?"
"What do you think?" Mo Huaixing gritted his teeth. "I haven't slept for two days while looking for you."
They were bullying me just now.
Gan Tang chuckled and said, "Then you take a nap, I'll drive."
Mo Huaixing sighed, "Forget it, we'll just get detained again later."
Thinking about this, Gan Tang felt frustrated. She had clearly passed her driving test, but everything had been for nothing. She sadly fiddled with the hanging Chinese knot, then suddenly turned her head: "Where did you get your car?"
“Wei Ming’s.”
"Huh? Why didn't you say so earlier?" They were just in the car, so embarrassing! Gan Tang punched him angrily.
"Is it that serious? We're not returning the car to him. Who told him to mess with my wife?" Mo Huaixing smiled, took Gan Tang's hand, and asked, "Really not going home?"
"I'm not going back." Gan Tang's eyes suddenly darkened. She dared not; she didn't know if she would survive if she went back this time.
On a bright spring day, Gan Tang, wearing a brown overcoat, stood in the square. A short while later, Chu Jiahe, dressed in military uniform, emerged from the building.
He remained as refined and gentle as ever, the military uniform adding a touch of dashing charm and making him appear even more imposing. Only, there were no badges on his shoulders. It was unclear whether this was to maintain secrecy or to avoid displaying them in front of him.
"Long time no see." He walked up to her, still as composed as ever.
His tall figure blended seamlessly with the building behind him, towering majestically. Gan Tang watched, her eyes trembling slightly. If it weren't for her, he wouldn't be bound here.
"Did you choose to be here?" she finally couldn't help but ask.
A hint of sadness flickered across Chu Jiahe's calm smile, but he ultimately said nothing. "Here, these are yours."
Without even asking what it was, Gan Tang awkwardly said, "Thank you."
Chu Jiahe said sadly, "I dislike hearing you say thank you the most."
Gan Tang clutched the package, at a loss for what to do.
"I'm so glad you thought of me. Let's go!" Chu Jiahe turned and left first. He walked very quietly, as if he didn't want to disturb her world. But in the end, he couldn't help himself and turned back to look at her as he reached the top of the stairs, only to see the man walking up beside her.
Gan Tang looked up at Mo Huaixing, handed him the things in her hands, and smiled. Mo Huaixing patted her head and pulled her away.
Neither of them spoke the rest of the way.
Upon arriving at their destination, Gan Tang escorted Mo Huaixing to the retractable gate, waving with a smile, "Go ahead!"
Mo Huaixing turned and went inside.
Gan Tang felt a pang of panic and rushed forward to hug him.
"What's wrong?"
"Don't move!" Gan Tang pressed herself tightly against his back. "Don't worry, don't worry..." I said.
"I'm not worried." Mo Huaixing gently patted the back of her hand. "Is something the matter?"
"No!" Gan Tang let go of him, smiling as she patted his cheek: "Go on, I'll wait for you here."
Once he goes there, Lu Zhengqian's crimes will be exposed to the public.
Mo Huaixing's figure disappeared into the solemn building. Gan Tang walked to the roadside trees and looked up at the boundless blue sky.
Now that he has made his decision, let's go back to that day.
When Gan Tang regained consciousness, she was in Lu Zhengqian's study in Qinglong Bay. A cup of cold tea was poured on her face, its chilling coldness penetrating.
"Tang'er, I've treated you well these past few years. How could you betray your father like this?"
