Synopsis - Plot Version:
Just drifting through life at her office job, a certain fish on the line...
She was inexplicably kidnapped.
All because she had a heart that matched a maf...
Lu Zhengqian listened, his heart softening: "What do you suggest we do?"
“For ordinary couples, adopting a child is merely for old age and funeral arrangements; how much genuine affection can they possibly have? Give them more money and send them to settle abroad. They will definitely be grateful to their godfather.” At this point, Fu Cheng emphasized, “It will also let my sister know who is truly thinking of her best interests.”
Lu Zhengqian felt relieved upon hearing this, but still had concerns: "Acheng, you are still young and don't know how greedy and insatiable people can be."
“Under Godfather’s watchful eye, how could they possibly cause trouble?” Fu Cheng said solemnly, “If Godfather trusts me, find them and I will send them away on your behalf.”
"Okay, whatever you say!" With a huge weight lifted from his heart, Lu Zhengqian felt much more at ease and idly skipped stones on the lake.
After throwing more than a dozen stones, he turned around and saw Fu Cheng still standing beside him, handing him pebbles.
"Why aren't you leaving yet?" he asked.
Fu Cheng was no longer as composed as before, his face showing a hint of gloom: "Godfather, Miss Lin has always been well-behaved and not a jealous person. If she has inadvertently had a conflict with someone, it must be due to a misunderstanding."
Normally, he would never ask about his private affairs.
Lu Zhengqian asked curiously, "What's wrong? Did she feel aggrieved by you?"
"No, Miss Lin is not one to spread rumors." Seeing the woman who looked exactly like his godmother approach gracefully, Fu Cheng said nothing more and turned to leave.
...
This place, located in the southwest of Jinhai City, is the true lair of the Green Dragon Gang, where all its members live. Mo Huaixing, newly promoted to hall master, has his own independent one-story villa, but he has almost never lived here; the room is completely empty.
Fu Cheng personally carried the food over, even taking an extra portion for Gan Tang. However, when he arrived at the room, he didn't see Gan Tang, only a table full of food. He asked curiously, "Where is Miss?"
Mo Huaixing shifted his nearly limp body and said listlessly, "A date."
She was just beside me, feeding me attentively, but then she received a phone call from Chu Jiahe and immediately abandoned me and ran away.
"Alright, I'll feed you then!" Fu Cheng picked up a bowl of beef noodles and sat down in the spot that Gan Tang had reserved for last night.
Mo Huaixing found the smell unpleasant and shook his head: "I don't want to eat it!"
Fu Cheng smacked him on the head with his chopsticks. "Look at you, so pathetic. Someone else is getting married, and you can't even take care of your own life?"
"No way! I just ate." He was quite frank at first, but Fu Cheng's words made him seem guilty.
Fu Cheng asked again, "Has the medication been changed?"
"No!" Mo Huaixing said righteously, "How could I let her change my dressing?"
"Oh, so principled." Fu Cheng didn't expose him, but sat cross-legged on the bed and changed his dressing.
Looking at the scars covering his back, Fu Cheng felt both angry and heartbroken, and asked, "Where is that couple?"
Mo Huaixing's heart skipped a beat, but he pretended to be clueless: "What couple?"
"You've really gotten bold now, daring to lie to me!" Fu Cheng smacked his head twice, then smacked it three more times, still not satisfied. "I warned you, you can like her however you want, but the condition is, you can't betray your godfather. Did you just ignore me?"
"Brother, you've really misunderstood..."
Fu Cheng glared at him, warning, "Think it over before you speak!"
Last night, when faced with the choice between using Fu Cheng's people or his own superior, he chose Fu Cheng's people because he was worried about the undiscovered mole.
This choice left him feeling deeply troubled. He hadn't expected that, in the most dangerous moment, he would choose to trust the very person he had repeatedly deceived.
"Why aren't you saying anything?" Fu Cheng urged.
"You already know, so why are you still saying anything!" Mo Huaixing grumbled. Since Fu Cheng had come to him, he certainly wouldn't tell anyone. Although he had guessed it, the confirmation still made him feel uneasy.
"I'm cleaning up your mess, and you're acting all aggrieved." Fu Cheng scolded him again in anger.
Although it didn't hurt, he couldn't keep it all bottled up inside. Mo Huaixing rubbed his head and turned to ask, "Big brother, how did you figure that out?"
"Do you think I'm blind, with the way you two are exchanging glances?" At first, he was only suspicious, but he dared to be sure only after questioning his brother who was out on business.
Fu Cheng smeared ointment all over his hand and applied it to his back.
"It hurts, it hurts..." Mo Huaixing wanted to run away because of the pain.
"Now you know it hurts, just bear with it." Fu Cheng pressed him down and continued applying the medicine. "You think your godfather doesn't suspect you? He just doesn't have any evidence. If I hadn't covered up the evidence for you, you'd be a dead body right now."
"Brother, this is the last time. It will never happen again. After she gets married, she will have someone to protect her. What am I to her?" It was just a pretense of affection, but saying it still hurt my heart.
Seeing his expression, Fu Cheng didn't say anything more to him: "Don't worry, your godfather has already agreed to let them go."
"Really?" Mo Huaixing's eyes lit up.
“Hmm! Give them some money and send them abroad. But we can’t do it now.” Fu Cheng started thinking of a plan. “To clear your name, we have to wait. We need to change where we’re hiding them. I’ll see if we can pin the blame on Fourth Uncle.”
Mo Huaixing laughed: "Big brother, you're too cunning."
"Whose side are you on?" Fu Cheng slapped him on the head. "He's schemed against me so many times, what's wrong with me swindling him once?"
...
A purple sports car was smoothly driving on the highest roundabout in Tianjin. Chu Jiahe was driving, with his soon-to-be-married bride sitting beside him.
He stopped bringing a driver at some point, just so he could have more time alone with her.
"Xintang, what did you think of the food just now?"
"Good!"
"Then we'll book this one."
They came out today mainly to book a restaurant for their wedding banquet.
"OK!"
As the two were talking, Gan Tang's phone rang; it was a WeChat message from Mo Huaixing.
Mo: Boss, I'm hungry
Tang: Then you should have someone deliver the food.
Mo: Your dad got beaten up, who would dare bring me food?
Tang: Then you can go hungry. I have a date and I don't have time.
"Who are you chatting with that makes you so happy?" Chu Jiahe, feeling neglected, felt a little jealous.
We happened to be waiting at a red light.
Gan Tang showed him her phone, "The nephew of the couple we took to the hospital yesterday sent us a WeChat message to thank us."
The screen showed a photo of two people, a couple photoshopped to look somewhat like her parents.
Gan Tang pretended to be puzzled and asked, "Why does he look different from the person we delivered yesterday?"
"The photo will be distorted!"
“No!” Gan Tang pointed and showed him: “I remember she had a mole here.”
"Really?" Chu Jiahe didn't recall. He didn't care much about worldly matters. "Xintang, I have face blindness. I don't really remember people I've met once or twice. Even the day we met, when I drove out to chase after you, I only recognized your clothes."
"Oh, I see!" Gan Tang happily put her phone away. "Anyway, they're unrelated people, so let's not talk about them anymore."
She was happy, but at the same time, she felt a sense of guilt.
"Jiahe, have you really never had a girlfriend before?" She turned to look at the man beside her and asked very seriously.
