Bonus Chapter 3: Bai Sirui VS Ruan Shaoke 3

For the next period of time, whenever the brothers finished training, they would go to Huo Haocheng's house for dinner. Gradually, they all liked to get together at his house, whether it was a holiday or a festival.

For some reason, the news of their reunion got out. In Yuncheng, everyone knew about Comrade Ruan Ruan's situation and didn't say anything unpleasant. But somehow, when the news of their reunion reached Bai Sirui's ears, it took on a different meaning.

When Bai Sirui returned from his mission, before he could even talk to his wife on the phone, he overheard several soldiers gossiping, "Hey, have you heard? I just heard that Battalion Commander Ruan fell in love with a girl as soon as he arrived at the Yuncheng Military Region."

"Yes, yes, yes, I heard that too. I also heard that Battalion Commander Ruan smiled as soon as he saw that girl, and his smile was so gentle."

"Isn't that right? Battalion Commander Ruan has been here for so many years, has anyone ever seen him smile at a female comrade? I think Battalion Commander Ruan is probably interested in that female comrade."

"Hey, you guys think, with Battalion Commander Ruan being so handsome, how beautiful must the girl he's interested in be?"

At this point, the soldiers began to imagine what the girl Ruan Shaoke had taken a liking to would look like.

"She must be as beautiful as a celestial being, otherwise she wouldn't be worthy of our Battalion Commander Ruan."

"That's right, that's right."

Even as the soldiers walked away, Persley was still reeling from their words.

How could you have fallen for a girl so soon after we left? Didn't we agree to spend our lives together? Ruan Shaoke, you liar.

While cursing inwardly, Bai Sirui's feet betrayed him as he ran toward the communications room.

However, at that moment, Ruan Shaoke was training with his teammates on the mountain and was destined not to receive his call.

When Persley saw that no one answered the phone, his anxiety intensified.

The person isn't with me right now, and I want to find him to get some answers, but I can't find him.

As the commander and political commissar walked towards him, they saw that Persley had his head down, as if he had returned to his childhood.

"What's wrong with this person? He was fine before."

"I don't know. Did he just get back from a mission today? Weren't they supposed to have done a great job on this mission?"

"Let's go up and ask first, just in case something happened."

So the commander and political commissar went straight up and blocked his way.

Persley never expected that the commander and political commissar would see him like this.

"Commander, Political Commissar, is there something you need from me?" What should have been a perfectly normal question, when uttered by Persley, sent a chill down the spines of the Commander and Political Commissar.

"We should be asking you that. What's wrong with you looking so dejected?"

"Yes, we've watched you grow up. If anything happens to you, please tell us right away. Tell us what's wrong and we'll try to figure something out for you."

Seeing his two uncles looking at him with concern, Persley forced himself to stay calm and said, "I'm fine. What could possibly be wrong with me? I just feel a little tired and want to go back and rest."

"You call this nothing? You're acting like your wife ran off with someone else, you're practically out of your mind, and you still say nothing's wrong."

It has to be said that the commander was telling the truth, but those words were really hurtful.

"Looking at you like this, you don't look like a soldier at all. We originally wanted to send an instructor to train the special team. You know, all the other regimental commanders have families to support, and you're the only one in our military region who's still single. We were thinking this morning that we'd send you to train them when you got back, as a way of giving you a break. But look at you now, you don't look like an instructor at all. Forget it, I'll send someone else."

When Percy heard the commander say he was going to the special team, he thought, "This is my chance!" His back pain disappeared, he felt less tired, and his energy returned.

"No, Commander, I'll go, I'll go!" he said, straightening his clothes. "Look, don't I look like a soldier? Just let me go, I promise I'll complete the mission."

"Hey...?" Has this person learned face-changing? He was so lifeless just a moment ago, but now he's like a completely different person.

"Alright, you can go, but you must teach them well. The higher-ups are keeping a close eye on this team, so we can't afford any mistakes."

"Yes, I guarantee the mission will be completed."

"Commander, Political Commissar, if there's nothing else, I'll go back and pack my things. I'll leave as soon as possible and make sure it doesn't delay their training."

After saying that, without waiting for the two leaders' reactions, he sprinted back to pack his things.

After packing my things, I realized it was almost evening and there were no more trains to Yuncheng.

Lying in bed, Bai Sirui kept recalling all the moments he and Ruan Shaoke had shared over the years, and he began to mentally prepare himself. His trip there was to see the girl they talked about who could make Ruan Shaoke smile. If they really were... if they really were...

"I can't do that, Ruan Shaoke. You better not be, otherwise, I might really do something."

Now that things are actually going to happen, Bai Sirui realizes how ridiculous he was before, saying he would let go and make things better. But now, just thinking about Ruan Shaoke leaving him makes him feel like he's being torn apart by thousands of ants.

While he was lying in bed lost in thought, Ruan Shaoke was soaking in the pool, relieving his fatigue.

"Oh dear, brother, I'm going to sleep now. You should hurry up and wash up and come back to sleep too. When will this ever end!"
