In the bathhouse, Ruan Shaolin quickly took a shower, said goodbye to Ruan Shaoke who was still soaking in the pool, and then took his things back to sleep.
After watching his younger brother leave, Ruan Shaoke continued soaking in the water alone, his thoughts drifting far away.
The next day, just as dawn broke, Persley carried his luggage, boarded the support vehicle, and headed to the train station.
Three days later, as soon as Bai Sirui stepped off the platform, he saw the person he had been longing for. Without thinking twice, he went straight up and hugged him tightly.
I miss you so much!
"I miss you as well"
Looking at the passersby, Ruan Shaoke let him hold her for a while before letting her go.
"Let's go back. We can talk later." As she spoke, she bent down to help him with his luggage, but Bai Sirui wouldn't let her help him. She immediately took the luggage bag in her hand and then gestured for him to lead the way.
"Are you doing well here?" What he really wanted to know was, "Have you really found a girl you like here?" But he didn't dare to ask. He was afraid that if he asked that question and the girl agreed, he would really take her back with him.
"It's great. As I wrote to you before, the team members this time are all brothers I grew up with. Among them are my older brother, younger brother, and cousin. They're all familiar faces, which is great."
Looking at the smile in Ruan Shaoke's eyes when he talked about his brother, for some reason, Bai Sirui felt particularly annoyed.
When they reached the parking area outside, Percy saw a man in military uniform leaning against the front of the car, holding palm leaves in his hand, seemingly weaving something. When he saw them coming, he put the things back in his pocket.
"This is my cousin, Gu Jinghe, who is also a member of our team."
"This is the friend I told you about, Persley."
"Commander Bai, hello, welcome."
"Comrade Gu, hello. You are Shao Ke's cousin, so you are also my cousin. We will be spending time together in the future, so there's no need to be so polite. It's better to call each other by our names."
"Okay, we're all friends and comrades, it's fine to call each other by name."
On the way back, Gu Jinghe introduced Bai Sirui to Yuncheng, telling him about the fun things to do there, the good food to eat, and some things about the military.
Because it was the Mid-Autumn Festival, Huo Haocheng didn't arrange any particularly heavy training. So when they arrived at the unit, all they saw was a group of people running and jumping around on the training field. Ruan Shaolin, for example, was lying on the ground under the shade of a tree because he had been trained so hard these past few days.
When Huo Haocheng saw them return with the people, and then looked at the sun overhead, he thought, "Well, there are only a few of us. Let's go to the conference room."
"The new instructors have arrived. Everyone, go to the meeting room to get to know them."
In the meeting room, as the team leader, I had to show respect to the new instructor, so I personally poured him a glass of water and then introduced him to the team members.
After Huo Haocheng finished his introduction, Bai Sirui also introduced himself to everyone.
Because they were all around the same age and Bai Sirui sincerely wanted to get along well with everyone, they mingled together during lunch.
"Hey, Bai Sirui, I heard that Shao Ke and you are the closest in your military region. Is that true?" Ge Xiaotian asked Bai Sirui during the meal.
"Huh? Who told you that?" Bai Sirui didn't understand what he meant. In the army, everyone was a comrade-in-arms.
"Oh, it was Ruan Shaoke who said it. Just a couple of days ago, the captain said that your Air Force sent someone to train me. We were all guessing whether it would be an old man, but Ruan Shaoke said it was someone about our age. We were wondering why he was so sure. Then he said that since he was here, you, as his best friend, would definitely come to find him. So this morning, he went with Gu Jinghe to pick you up."
Ge Xiaotian didn't think that having a best friend in the army was something that couldn't be talked about. He also had good friends in his original unit, so what was wrong with that?
Upon hearing Ge Xiaotian's words, Bai Sirui glanced at the person sitting next to him, who was engrossed in eating.
At that moment, he was happy, because he was introducing himself to his friends in a place he didn't know about.
"Yes, we are best friends."
After dinner, he returned to his dormitory. Ruan Shaoke helped him put his luggage away.
Since their team consisted of only a few people, they lived in a dormitory room for six. Also, since Huo Haocheng and Gu Jinghe both lived at home, one of them was available for a separate room.
When the dormitories were being assigned, everyone knew Ruan Shaoke's personality, so they let him live in a room by himself. Now that Bai Sirui has arrived, the two of them are now in the same dormitory. This is convenient for both of them.
Since it was confirmed that Bai Sirui would be coming, Ruan Shaoke used his rest time to clean up his bed.
"It's still early, you can rest for a while. It's Mid-Autumn Festival today, and there's no training this afternoon, so I can show you around. Tonight we'll go to Huo Haocheng's house for dinner, and you can also meet me, Ruan Ruan."
"Don't rush this, I want to kiss you first." With that, Bai Sirui closed the dormitory door, then pulled her into his arms and pressed his head against hers.
After kissing for a while, Bai Sirui finally let go of her.
"I've been on the train for the past few days, and I smell terrible. Can you take me to take a shower?" If it weren't for the inappropriate timing, Bai Sirui really wouldn't want to let go of his wife.
However, he had all sorts of things on the train these past few days—smokers, various poultry—and with the hot weather, he himself felt like he was going to rot, let alone the clean-loving Ruan Shaoke.
