Chapter 11 Trainee's First Day① (2/2)

The weight of the cell phone in his backpack reminded him that the only things he could rely on now were the two distant numbers in his address book.

"It's just around the corner." Li Jae-hoon said with his head down. The sunlight shone from behind him, casting a long shadow on the ground.

Ouyang Guang stared at the vague outline and suddenly remembered that his father had his back to him in the elevator this morning. His broad shoulders blocked most of the light but could not block the continuously jumping "1" of the floor number.

The cherry blossom trees below the residential building have passed their blooming period, leaving only lush green leaves rustling in the wind.

An early-withered leaf fell on Ouyangguang's shoulder. When he reached out to brush it, he seemed to smell his mother's jasmine scent lingering on his fingertips.

From now on, he will really be left alone in this strange country.

"Oh my god," Li Jae-hoon suddenly asked him, "Did your parents board the plane?"

"Not yet. Their flight is at three in the afternoon." Ouyang Guang looked at the flight path that was gradually disappearing in the clouds in the distance, his Adam's apple rolling slightly.

When he left in the morning, his mother repeatedly reminded him, "Remember to eat on time and don't be picky about food," and his father stuffed a credit card into his pocket, saying, "Tell me if it's not enough."

Chen Zheng sent a long string of "envy, jealousy and hatred" messages on QQ, He Zilin only sent two words: "Keep it up", but He Ziqi attached a secretly taken photo of him playing drums, with the caption "I'll be your supporter when you form a group."

Li Jae-hoon stopped in an alley with neat Korean houses on both sides. The dormitory was in an apartment building that looked quite old and even older than he had imagined.

Ouyang Guang followed Li Jae-hoon through the narrow corridor. There were faded advertising posters on the walls with curled and yellowed corners. It could be vaguely seen that they were promotional posters for an idol group a few years ago.

Li Zaixun swiped the electronic lock and walked into the elevator with Ouyang Guang: "The dormitory arranged by the company for trainees is not top-notch, but it is convenient."

The elevator door opened with a ding, and a subtle smell of disinfectant mixed with kimchi wafted into my face, like some kind of welcome ceremony with H country characteristics.

The elevator groaned as it was overloaded. When Lee Jae-hoon made his third trip to carry the luggage, Ouyang Guang noticed that the back of his suit was soaked.

"This building is mostly occupied by people who are practicing and young artists who have just debuted." Lee Jae-hoon dragged his suitcase in, and the cuffs of his suit jacket rubbed against the dust on the wall. "The soundproofing is not very good. You may hear the dance practice next door at night."

"The dormitory is only ten minutes' walk from the company, which is convenient for your training."

Pushing open the door, the living room was not bright, but at least clean. Two old sofas were placed facing each other, and on the coffee table in the middle were a few old Korean entertainment magazines, with idols whose names Ouyangguang could not remember on the cover. In the corner stood a water dispenser that looked like it had not been used for a long time, with a thin layer of dust on the top.

The suite has two bedrooms, a living room, a utility room, a separate bathroom and a kitchenette.

"You live in the room on the left." Li Zaixun pointed to one of the doors. "Next to you is Park Junhao. He has been training for three years and is also an A-level trainee."

Ouyangguang put down his backpack and glanced across the closed bedroom door: "Is he here now?"

Li Zaixun walked over and knocked on the door, but there was no response. He shrugged and said, "Maybe he just woke up, or he's doing morning exercises."

Four suitcases were still piled up in the entrance. Li Jae-hoon wiped the sweat from his forehead and took out his cell phone: "I'll ask him to come down and help move them."

After the call was connected, he spoke briefly in Korean, and after hanging up, he explained to Ouyang Guang: "He is in the shop downstairs and will be here soon."

While waiting, Ouyang Guang pushed open the door of his bedroom. The room was not big, but the lighting was good. There was a single bed, a wardrobe, a desk, and a note on the wall left by the previous resident, which read "Come on" in Korean. From the window, he could see the back door of the company, and several teenagers in training uniforms were rushing in, as if they were rushing to class.

A few minutes later, footsteps were heard outside the door, followed by the sound of keys turning.

When Park Junhao pushed the door open, he was holding a bag of triangular rice balls and iced coffee in his hands. His hair was messy, as if he had just woken up. He was wearing a loose black T-shirt and sweatpants, and a pair of old sneakers on his feet, with the shoelaces tied loosely. When he saw Ouyang Guang, his eyes were cold, he raised his eyebrows, and said in Korean: "Who are you from?"

"Hello, I'm Ouyangguang, from Shenzhen City, Country Z." Ouyangguang greeted in English, deliberately slowing down his speech.

The man was stunned for a moment before he answered in unfluent Chinese: "Park Junhao." After he said that, he walked to the kitchen and started cooking ramen.

Li Jae-hoon nodded and pointed at the luggage: "Can you help me move it?"

Park Junhao stared at the water in the pot, and said in Korean with a bad face, "Another Z countryman." The tone was so impatient that Ouyang Guang only understood the two words "Z country".

Park Junhao made a "tsk" sound and walked over to pick up a box. He paused, looked him up and down, his eyes stayed on the blond hair for two more seconds, and then said something in Korean English:

"Hope you can last longer than three months."

Before Ouyang Guang could react, Park Junhao had already entered the room carrying a suitcase. Li Zaixun coughed awkwardly twice: "Junhao's personality is like this, it will be fine once we get to know each other. Come on, I'll take you around the company."

Ouyang Guang didn't say anything, but just picked up the remaining luggage silently.

From today on, this is his "home".
