Late at night, after drinking heavily, Chu Rou fell asleep with the pinnacle of the human world! When entanglements arose, Young Master Mo stepped in to smooth things over. When company performance...

Mr. Li chuckled, "How is it a demotion? It's just a temporary assignment. Your salary will remain the same, and your position here will still be reserved for you."

"Fine!" Chu Rou had no choice but to accept the work arrangement, even though she was unwilling.

Chu Rou returned to her office, found a box, packed all her frequently used items inside, and then carried the box to the sales department.

She found a table to put down the box she was carrying, and then walked to the sales director's office and knocked on the door.

"Please come in!"

Chu Rou pushed open the door and went in.

A man in his early thirties, rather thin, sat behind the desk. He looked refined and cultured.

When Mo Xing'an saw Chu Rou enter, a glint flashed in his eyes, and a slight smile appeared on his lips.

Chu Rou introduced herself: "Hello, Mr. Mo, I am Chu Rou from the R&D department. I will be assisting you in the sales department during this period."

Mo Xing'an nodded slightly, "Then I'll trouble Manager Chu. I'll have someone arrange an office seat for you."

Chu Rou agreed and left Mo Xing'an's office.

Mo Xing'an watched Chu Rou's departing figure, stroked his chin, and seemed to be deep in thought.

Like a new broom sweeping clean, Mo Xing'an made sure the entire sales department worked overtime on his first day at work.

Chu Rou was in the sales department and could only accompany him to work overtime.

She took out her phone, pulled Shen Luo and Mo Chi together, and created a small group chat.

Chu Rou: [My dear brothers, I have to work overtime today and can't come home to cook dinner for you. You should eat out!]

Ink Pond: [Is your work efficiency too low? Why are you working overtime?]

Chu Rou rolled her eyes when she saw Mo Chi's reply; this younger brother was not cute at all.

Chu Rou: [I was seconded to the sales department, and all the sales staff worked overtime with the new sales director.]

By the way, the new sales director shares your last name!

Mo Chi: [What's his name, Mo?]

Chu Rou: [His name seems to be Mo Xing'an.]

After Chu Rou sent this message, there was no further activity in the group.

After waiting until eight o'clock, Mo Xing'an finally let everyone go home.

Chu Rou picked up her bag and prepared to leave.

"Manager Chu!" Mo Xing'an called out to Chu Rou.

Damn it, don't make her prepare any more documents, she wants to go home!

Chu Rou silently cursed Mo Xing'an in her heart, but turned around with a smile and asked, "Is there anything else you need, Mr. Mo?"

"It's getting late, do you need me to take you home?" Mo Xing'an asked casually.

Chu Rou looked flattered and said, "No need, Mr. Mo, I'll drive myself. Please drive carefully tonight. I'll be going now."

Chu Rou turned around, her smile fading. She rubbed her stiff face with her hand, feeling tired after pretending all day.

Chu Rou got into the car and sent a message in their small group chat.

Chu Rou: [My sister's off work!]

Unfortunately, no one paid any attention to her.

Chu Rou pouted. Those two little ingrates didn't care about her at all.

There was no traffic congestion on the road at night, and Chu Rou drove to the residential area in twenty minutes.

She parked the car, turned off the engine, and got out.

Perhaps because of the low temperature today, no one came out for a stroll in the neighborhood. It was quiet. A cool breeze blew by, the treetops swayed, and the shadows cast on the ground by the leaves, which blocked the moonlight, moved erratically.

Chu Rou shrank her neck, feeling a chill run down her spine, and involuntarily shivered.

Chu Rou usually loves watching horror movies. She's the kind of person who's timid but also curious. After watching them, she's afraid to go out at night or go to the bathroom, always feeling like something is watching her from behind.

In the past, when she worked overtime, He Wei would walk her upstairs before leaving, but now she can only rely on her younger brother.

She took out her phone to call Shen Luo and ask him to come downstairs to pick her up.

Suddenly, a large hand patted Chu Rou on the shoulder.

"Ah!" Chu Rou screamed, dropping her phone to the ground.

"Were you scared?"

Chu Rou heard a familiar voice and only then did she dare to turn around.

Tears welled up in her eyes, and she clenched her small fist and punched Mo Chi's chest. "You're so scary, you scared me to death!"

Mo Chi picked up the phone from the ground, checked it, and found it wasn't broken. He glanced at Chu Rou and said, "If you're easily scared, don't watch horror movies in the future."

Chu Rou snatched back her phone. "Who's the coward? It's always you who scares me. What are you doing out so late?"

Mo Chi was carrying a plastic bag. "I was hungry, so I came out to buy instant noodles."

"You didn't have dinner?" Chu Rou asked in surprise.

“No,” Mo Chi said, placing his hand naturally on Chu Rou’s shoulder. “Let’s go upstairs first; it’s too cold outside.”

Chu Rou wrapped her coat tighter and followed Mo Chi upstairs.

Entering the house, Chu Rou peeked inside but didn't see Shen Luo. "Isn't Xiao Luo home?"

Mo Chi gave a faint "hmm," and said, "He went on a date."

"Huh? A date?" Chu Rou's eyes widened. "Xiao Luo is dating?"

"I guess so. He's still pursuing her. Today, the girl agreed to go out to dinner and a movie with him."

Chu Rou exclaimed, "That blockhead Xiao Luo actually knows how to chase girls!"

After saying that, Chu Rou glanced at Mo Chi and asked, "Mo Baobao, don't you have a girl you like at school?"

"No!"

Mo Chi took the instant noodles out of the plastic bag, preparing to tear them open.

Chu Rou hung up her coat and, seeing Mo Chi's actions, quickly stopped him, saying, "Mo baby, don't eat instant noodles anymore. Let me make you some braised noodles, it'll be quick."

Mo Chi obediently stopped what he was doing and sat down at the dining table to wait.

"I'll go change my clothes and I'll do it right away."

Chu Rou went back to her room to change into her pajamas, then went to the kitchen, found a handful of noodles, rummaged through the refrigerator for two tomatoes, and took out a few eggs, preparing to make tomato-based noodles.

Twenty minutes later, Chu Rou came out carrying two bowls of noodles, one large and one small.

She placed the large bowl in front of Mo Chi and handed him chopsticks, saying, "Eat up."

Mo Chi took the chopsticks and saw that Chu Rou had also served herself a small bowl of noodles. He asked, "Doesn't the company provide dinner?"

Chu Rou pouted, "The boxed lunches I bought were awful, not even half as good as the ones I make."

Mo Chi didn't say anything more and ate his noodles in big mouthfuls; he was really hungry.

Chu Rou wasn't there, nor was Shen Luo. He was too lazy to move until he saw Chu Rou's message saying she was off work. Only then did he go out to buy instant noodles and wait for Chu Rou to come upstairs together.

After eating her fill, Chu Rou patted her stomach contentedly, "My cooking is still the best."

Mo Chi graciously hummed in agreement.

The door opened, and Shen Luo walked in whistling.

Chu Rou looked over and teased, "Oh my, the couple is back? Did you hold their hand or kiss them?"

Shen Luo blushed and said, "Sis, can you be serious? He hasn't even agreed to be my girlfriend yet!"

Chu Rou glared at Chen Luo, "She went on a date with you, which means she's interested in you. If you don't take the initiative, are you just waiting for her to force herself on you?"

Mo Chi tapped his fingers on the dining table, pondering the meaning behind Chu Rou's words.
