Chapter 6: A failed escape

The moon and stars are sparse.

The cold night was silent, with the occasional rustling of strange sounds, and the interweaving of black tree shadows, like a lurking dark monster.

Si Tang ran hard through the jungle, relying on his memory to find the direction to the shore.

More than half an hour later, the sea level finally appeared before Si Tang's eyes. Looking closely, he saw a ship with lights on in the distance.

Si Tang squatted down excitedly to look for dead wood to start a fire. The salty sea breeze blew her clothes and there was a momentary tinnitus in her ears.

She was so excited that she didn't notice the approaching danger.

“Rustle—rustle—”

An unknown voice sounded quietly behind her.

The sea breeze was fierce, but Si Tang didn't notice it. His entire attention was drawn to the wood that was about to be ignited by drilling and the ship approaching in the distance.

“Rustle—rustle—”

Something was closer.

Perhaps it was a belated sixth sense, but Si Tang felt a chill down his spine for a moment, and his heart even stopped for a few seconds.

She held her breath and slowly looked back. The next moment, a wild beast suddenly jumped out from the bushes behind her, staring at her with its green eyes, opening its bloody mouth and biting Si Tang's neck fiercely.

Si Tang screamed in fear and felt a strong wind coming towards him.

She subconsciously closed her eyes, and at the moment of death, she inexplicably remembered Fan Yi's warning.

If you leave here, you will either starve to death or die of thirst.

He omitted one way to die, which was being eaten by wild beasts.

Si Tang knelt on the ground, cold sweat covering his whole body. Facing the giant beast, he was like a lamb to be slaughtered.

But the next second, the feeling of death pain did not come, but warm liquid splashed on the face, accompanied by a disgusting and strong smell of blood.

This was followed by a sneer in the suddenly dead air.

"Very courageous."

Si Tang opened his eyes tremblingly. In the dark night, the shadows of the trees made the man's figure look tall and slender.

Fan Yi, trident in hand, gazed down at her expressionlessly. Moonlight stained his snowy eyelashes, leaving them spotless. His deep blue pupils were like scythes in the cold night. Not far away, the blood-stained bushes formed a dense spiderweb.

The beast's body had already been chopped into pieces and scattered around, revealing the cruel killing desire of the person in front of him at the moment.

It was as if the person before his eyes was not a god, but a ghost.

The smell of blood made him look extremely bloodthirsty.

A sense of oppression even stronger than the fear of approaching death came over me.

Fan Yi released the trident and slowly approached her, his voice icy, "Why are you running away?"

Until the hem of the black robe stopped in front of her, Fan Yi's gaze fell on her as if it were real. Si Tang truly felt the murderous intent before her.

Si Tang's face was pale, even more pale than the snow, and an unknown fear swept over her. Her lips trembled slightly, and her almond-shaped eyes, once as bright as glass, were now filled with endless fear.

Time seemed to have frozen. The air around them was unusually heavy, oppressive, and almost impossible to breathe.

Amidst the strange confrontation, the sound of a ship's whistle suddenly came from a distance.

Fan Yi raised his eyes slightly, glancing at the ship gradually becoming clearer on the horizon. A vague, dangerous smile suddenly formed at the corner of his lips, and a light voice slowly emerged from his throat.

"I underestimated humanity."

He could use strange tools to open stone doors weighing hundreds of pounds. He was just one step away from escaping the island.

But she was still too naive. Didn't she really know that the entire Atlantic Ocean could not escape his eyes?

Or do you know that there is little hope, but still insist on trying?

"I really find the people in this world more and more interesting."

There was a hint of joy in his voice, and the unhappiness on his face gradually dissipated, as if he had found a toy that really pleased him.

What could be more interesting than capturing one alive and taking it back for research?

Si Tang was still immersed in desperate fear, but the next second he felt his body floating in the air and a cold touch on his wrist.

The next second, Fan Yi took her into the air.

Si Tang opened her eyes wide and could only watch as Fan used magic to erase all traces of her presence on the island.

Ten minutes later, the ship docked at the shore of the island, and the search and rescue team immediately went down to look for any signs of survival.

But what surprised them was that there were no dead trees that had just burned out on the shore.

Several people were still discussing whether they had seen it wrong during the day.

Si Tang refused to give up. Seeing his hope of leaving here dashed, he desperately slapped the invisible barrier under his feet and shouted for help.

There seemed to be a playful chuckle in my ears.

"I used a barrier. They can't hear or see you."

As he spoke, he watched her reaction. The way she seemed to be struggling in despair made him sigh in confusion.

"Strange, you know you can't escape, yet you still struggle in vain."

Si Tang ignored him, her eyes fixed on the ground below.

Time passed minute by minute, and the search and rescue team was busy searching below, but found nothing.

Two hours later, the members of the search and rescue team began to pack up their tools and prepare to leave the place.

Si Tang bit her lips tightly, her heart filled with great loss and despair. This feeling was like a heavy mountain pressing on her heart, making it almost impossible for her to breathe.

She could only watch hope disappear from her sight bit by bit, but she was powerless to do anything.

Fan Yi stood aside with great interest, quietly observing her expression. However, he did not notice the dark fire burning deep in Si Tang's eyes.

Finally, the ship slowly sailed out of the sea area and disappeared at the end of the sea level.

The search and rescue team left.

Fan Yi took her back to the cave.

Si Tang leaned against the stone bench, looking depressed, like a defeated stray cat. He watched him scan the cave from head to toe as if he were inspecting a prison.

It seemed that the stone door could not reassure him. He simply moved the stone door away and set up a barrier.

Si Tang now actually had the mind to analyze what his barrier looked like.

A silver-white light shield.

She clearly sensed that he didn't want to eat her now, he just wanted to kill her.

A god without emotions. No, a madman.

When Fan Yi was finally satisfied, he left a word before leaving.

"Extremely weak pets should stay in cages."

Si Tang gritted his teeth and stared at his departing back, comforting himself.

He doesn't want to eat her for the time being. As long as there is green mountain, there will be no shortage of firewood. One day, she will escape from here, definitely!
