“Your Majesty, should there be a next life, this concubine wishes to never have met you, and to never see each other for all eternity.”
Yu Jingchen hated her, yet the last thing she did i...
Nan Zhiyun remained silent, and Yu Jingchen, unsure of what to do, fell silent in the room. Yu Jingchen, who was never embarrassed in such situations, seemed genuinely at a loss for what to do.
"How about we eat something?" Yu Jingchen broke the silence, but his voice lacked confidence.
Nan Zhiyun didn't speak. Yu Jingchen breathed a sigh of relief and silently calmed himself down. "How about you eat something? You still need to take your medicine. Your health isn't good," Yu Jingchen said softly.
Nan Zhiyun remained silent. Yu Jingchen was at a loss. He paused for a moment before speaking, "There are many people in He'an Palace... People from the Imperial Kitchen and the Small Kitchen are also here. You probably don't want to involve innocent people, right?" His voice softened. Nan Zhiyun seemed surprised that Yu Jingchen would bring up such a matter. He was threatening her again.
Seeing the way Nan Zhiyun looked at him, Yu Jingchen felt bad, but he had no other choice but to resort to this method.
"You should know what kind of person I am, so don't test my patience with you, okay?" Yu Jingchen was colder than before.
Nan Zhiyun's eyes reddened, and tears fell. Yu Jingchen looked at her and reached out to wipe away the tears from the corners of her eyes.
"So, eat something and take your medicine obediently, okay?" Yu Jingchen asked her. How could Nan Zhiyun say no, but she couldn't bring herself to agree either.
Yu Jingchen didn't say anything to her, but instead called out to the people outside, "Serve the meal! Bring up Consort Shu's medicine as well."
Soon, the people outside brought out all the food. Nan Zhiyun looked at the table full of food but had no appetite at all; in fact, she felt a little nauseous.
"I've eaten. What do you want to eat?" Yu Jingchen asked, standing up as well.
Nan Zhiyun looked at him without answering. Yu Jingchen smiled and said, "It's okay if you don't speak, it's okay if you don't want to eat. If you don't eat today, it means you're not satisfied with these things. If you're not satisfied with these things, then the person who made them is useless." Yu Jingchen's voice was somewhat cold.
"Why..." Nan Zhiyun asked a question. Yu Jingchen smiled and replied, "Isn't your question a bit foolish? If we didn't do it this way, do you think you would obediently listen? Nan Zhiyun, I'm not trying to force you. I just talked to you nicely. But unfortunately, you didn't appreciate it and you didn't listen, did you?" Yu Jingchen said.
Nan Zhiyun felt helpless after hearing Yu Jingchen's words, but there was nothing she could do.
“Nan Zhiyun…some things are worth doing anything to achieve the goal. Since you don’t accept the method we just discussed, we have no choice but to use this one.” Yu Jingchen said. He himself was also willing to do this, but he had no other option.
"Now you should understand the importance of power and status. No matter how unwilling you are, you must do whatever I want you to do, or the consequences will be unacceptable to you. If you don't believe me, you can try it now." Yu Jingchen clearly had given up on communicating with Nan Zhiyun. If being gentle didn't work, then he would have to resort to force.
Nan Zhiyun was speechless at Yu Jingchen's words. In his eyes, she had always been a weakling, unable to do anything well or at all, a pitiful and pathetic person. As insignificant as an ant, she was nothing, just an eyesore. He would look at her when he remembered her, and discard her at will when he no longer thought of her or when she was in the way.
He does everything according to his own will, never considering his own feelings, because he is always the supreme emperor, whose word is law.
“Your Majesty…I truly regret falling in love with you…” Nan Zhiyun said.
Yu Jingchen felt a pang of pain in his heart, but he didn't show it on his face: "What's the use of regret? There's no medicine for regret in this world. Also, I don't want to hear such words. Don't force me to correct this problem for you, understand?" Yu Jingchen changed his self-reference back to his original form.
Nan Zhiyun didn't dare to challenge Yu Jingchen's bottom line. She did regret it, but that didn't mean she dared to be tough with Yu Jingchen.
"Let's eat." Yu Jingchen couldn't stand his expression, so he turned his head away.
Nan Zhiyun stood there stunned until Yu Jingchen said, "Do I need to repeat myself?"
Nan Zhiyun closed her eyes. In the end, she couldn't win against Yu Jingchen, so she finally made a move, got off the bed, and walked to the table. Yu Jingchen watched her movements and tried very hard to restrain himself from going up to her.
Nan Zhiyun had injured her foot, so her movements were a little unnatural. After walking over here, she sat down, but her seat was quite far from Yu Jingchen's.
"Sit over here," Yu Jingchen commanded.
"I don't want to," Nan Zhiyun replied, this was the first time she had refused so clearly and decisively.
Yu Jingchen should have been angry upon hearing this answer, but this time... he couldn't get angry. He stared at Nan Zhiyun, but Nan Zhiyun didn't give him a single look of reminiscence, so he finally gave up.
Yu Jingchen didn't insist any further. Instead, he sat down next to her. It was just a seat, wasn't it? He could sit anywhere, Yu Jingchen reassured himself.
"You haven't eaten anything, have a bowl of porridge first." Yu Jingchen personally served her a bowl.
"I don't want to drink it." Nan Zhiyun seemed to have lost her temper.
Yu Jingchen paused for a moment, but only for a second before ladling out another bowl and placing it next to Nan Zhiyun.
