Chapter 34: Screenwriter

Xu Zhaoyue's words made Xu Zhaohao think. Seeing that he started to ponder seriously, Xu Zhaoyue knew that he was not at the point where he absolutely needed money. If he liked creating, then it would be easy to resolve.

"Then I'll go write it now!" Xu Zhaohao nodded and was about to get up. Xu Zhaoyue quickly stopped him, "Hey, where are you going? Come back first. Do you even know how to write a good script?"

"I don't know." Xu Zhaohao shook his head.

"That settles it. You just said you didn't like the scripts those people gave you, which means they weren't that good. You haven't even read a good script, so how can you write a good one?"

"Here's what you should do: first enroll in a screenwriting program. The professors at the university are all professionals. If you learn from them and broaden your horizons, you'll definitely be able to write better stories."

Xu Zhaoyue's suggestion was unexpected. "Screenwriting major?" Xu Zhaohao was a little confused. It didn't seem to be his purpose for coming today, but what his sister said made a lot of sense.

“I was worried about what major you should study. I didn’t want to force you to study something you weren’t interested in. A major that you’re going to study for four years has to be something you want to study. Now I don’t have to worry anymore. Screenwriting is a good direction.”

"Haven't you noticed? You've never been so persistent about anything before, from childhood to adulthood. That's a good thing. I'm so glad you've found something you love." Xu Zhaoyue's words were full of deep affection, her tone brimming with the pride of seeing her son grow up.

Xu Zhaohao listened to her words and thought for a while. He realized that he had never run away from home for anything before. When he saw that a story could be turned into a movie, he felt excited and thrilled, a feeling he had never experienced before.

"Well... I've already promised them, it wouldn't be good to break my promise, would it?" Xu Zhaohao's voice was much softer, but he still said it. He couldn't go back on his word after making a promise.

When Xu Zhaoyue saw him ask this, a smile appeared on her face. "That's easy. Let Butler Xu take Xiaoshun to resolve it. There are many things to discuss when investing. It's not something that can be done just by offering money. Losing money is secondary if the investment doesn't go well. It would be bad if the case got involved because of contract issues."

"Huh? What kind of case could it be involved in?" Xu Zhaohao didn't expect that an investment would have so much to say. He had always thought that taking the money was all that mattered.

Xu Zhaoyue smiled slightly, "If the contract states that the investor is responsible for the filming of the movie, wouldn't someone be able to ask the investor for money if they are seriously injured on set? You know our family, we have so many people watching us. If any mishap occurs, it will be in all the newspapers."

Xu Zhaohao hadn't expected such serious consequences and was momentarily flustered.

"Alright, don't worry about me. Leave this to the staff. Just stay home and think about applying for your major. Write down the story you want to film and fill it in slowly. I look forward to your work."

Xu Zhaoyue told Xu Zhaohao to relax and simply stay home. Xu Zhaohao knew his sister meant well, so he naturally agreed.

So Xu Zhaohao, who had run away from home for a week, moved back to the Xu family mansion. However, compared to his previous aimlessness, he was now more purposeful and even read several books.

When Xu Guangcai learned of this, he even lamented to his steward how much effort Xiaoyue had put into caring for her younger brother, though he certainly couldn't have guessed what would happen next.

Xu Zhaohao had lunch with Xu Zhaoyue, and he recommended several restaurants to Xu Zhaoyue. "Sister, of all the ones I just mentioned, you must try that Jiangnan private kitchen. It's especially delicious."

“Okay, I’ll have Xiaonan buy it tomorrow. If you think it’s delicious, it can’t be bad.”

Xu Zhaohao chuckled, "Hehe, I'm definitely not as good as you, so I only dare to strongly recommend this one. By the way, it's best to eat at the restaurant; takeout isn't as good as freshly cooked food."

"Okay, I'll go sometime when I have time," Xu Zhaoyue replied.

After lunch, Xu Zhaohao went back, but he deliberately left through the back door, hoping to see if Yue Lanxing was there. However, Yue Lanxing had already hidden in the warehouse, and Xu Zhaohao left without seeing her.

Xu Zhaoyue spent the weekend playing with the dog and resting, and didn't even notice that Yue Lanxing had spent most of the past two days in the warehouse. When she saw Yue Lanxing come back while sitting on the swing at night, she thought he was working too hard and didn't dare to chat with him or disturb his rest.

Yue Lanxing didn't calm down until Monday when he was taking the young lady to work. He and the young lady had no relationship to begin with, and he just wanted to be a good subordinate. Why should he care about the young master's opinion?

Moreover, Yue Lanxing thought to herself, "What's more, it was something that was impossible to begin with."

When Xu Zhaoyue arrived on the second floor, she saw Yue Lanxing heading towards the duty room. She instinctively hummed in response, and then her eyes met Yue Lanxing's. He turned and followed her.

This was just a minor incident. Before Xu Zhaoyue could even react, she and Yue Lanxing had already arrived at the office. Because Yue Lanxing was walking behind her this time, she deliberately ran a few steps when she was about to open the door.

Xu Zhaoyue felt the wind brought by Yue Lanxing running past her, and then she suddenly realized that he didn't want to come with her just now, but wasn't he the one who stood guard in the morning before?

"Didn't you want to come and stand guard just now? If you're tired from training yesterday, you can go to the duty room to rest for a while. There's a single bed in my office, you can lie down for a bit." Xu Zhaoyue said and went into the room.

Having learned from her previous experience, Yue Lanxing followed her in as usual, took her coat and hung it on the hanger. "Alright, I'm going to get busy. You can make yourself at home in my office." Xu Zhaoyue said and left, leaving Yue Lanxing standing there, her mind racing.
