Chapter 126 Decisions in Doubt, Proving Their Rightness

"Prepare for battle." These five simple words carried Ning Yu's unwavering resolve. He turned to face Mu Xue, his eyes unwavering, as if none of the doubts, confusion, or worries could stir any ripples in his heart.

"Do you really think those people are wrong?" Mu Xue walked to his side, her tone probing.

“I never said they were wrong,” Ning Yu walked to the table, picked up a stone he had brought back from the resource point, and examined it carefully by the light. “It’s just that some things have to be done by someone.”

This stone looked ordinary, but it emitted a faint light. It was this light that gave Ning Yu hope and a direction for the future.

He gathered some of his trusted members and showed them the stone.

"What is this? A broken rock?" a burly man asked dismissively, his tone full of doubt.

“No, this is no ordinary stone,” Ning Yu placed the stone on the table. “It contains enormous energy, enough to give us greater power, and could even change the entire course of the battle!”

The group exchanged bewildered glances, clearly skeptical of Ning Yu's words.

Ning Yu ignored their doubts and continued to explain, "I know many of you are dissatisfied with my previous decision and think I was too risky, but please believe me, everything I did was for the future of all of us. If we can successfully acquire more of these resources, we will have enough strength to resist any threat and even rebuild our homes!"

His tone was firm, and his eyes were full of confidence, as if he could already see the dawn of victory. His words carried a powerful appeal, causing everyone present to seriously consider what he had said.

Silence spread through the room, and the expressions on everyone's faces gradually became serious.

"Tick-tock, tick-tock..." Suddenly, a rapid alarm sounded in the room.

Ning Yu's expression changed, and he quickly walked to the communicator and grabbed the microphone.

"Reporting, leader, we're under attack! It's those monsters, and their numbers are staggering..."

The voice on the other end of the microphone abruptly stopped, leaving only a chilling scream. "Damn it!" Ning Yu threw the microphone back into the communicator, grabbed his coat from the table, and said coldly, "Everyone, come with me immediately!"

The siren shattered the tranquility of the night sky within Ning Yu's territory. In the distance, flames soared into the sky, illuminating half the heavens—the direction of a small village on the outskirts of his territory.

"Chief, those monsters seem to be targeting the outer villages. Should we change our defense strategy?" a squad leader asked anxiously, following behind Ning Yu.

"It's too late! They're too fast. We have to stop them before they cause more damage!" Ning Yu replied as he ran, his tone firm. He had already learned from previous intelligence that these mysterious creatures were cunning and unpredictable in their attacks, and extremely fast, making conventional defensive measures ineffective.

"Pass on my order: all combat personnel, abandon the original defense plan and immediately proceed to provide support! All logistics personnel, immediately organize the evacuation of the villagers!" Ning Yu calmly issued the orders while running quickly.

By the time they reached the outskirts of the village, the battle had reached a fever pitch. The number of monsters was far greater than expected; their appearances were ferocious and terrifying, and they emitted chilling roars as they frantically attacked the village's fortifications.

The villagers retreated in an orderly manner under the organization of the gang members, but some people who were unable to evacuate in time were still trapped in the village.

"Leader, what should we do?" A young team member looked at the horrific scene before him, somewhat at a loss.

"Don't panic. Follow the plan and suppress their attack with heavy firepower!" Ning Yu calmly commanded the battle while constantly scanning the battlefield, looking for a breakthrough.

The roar of heavy weapons echoed through the night sky, and the flashes of explosions engulfed the monsters' figures. But soon, more monsters poured out of the darkness, rushing towards the village one after another.

"This can't go on. Their defenses are too strong, and our firepower can only do so much damage!" an old soldier said anxiously, his face covered in sweat and blood.

“I know,” Ning Yu said softly, his gaze fixed on the stone in his hand. He knew it was time.

"Everyone, cover me!" Ning Yu shouted, then charged into the center of the battlefield without hesitation.

The monsters spotted Ning Yu and roared excitedly as they swarmed him. Ning Yu neither dodged nor evaded, letting the monsters' attacks fall on him unscathed.

"Now!" Ning Yu's eyes flashed, and the stone in his hand suddenly burst forth with dazzling light. He raised the stone high, and a powerful energy wave spread rapidly outwards from him.

With a deafening roar, the ground trembled violently, and wherever the energy surged, all the monsters were thrown to the ground, emitting painful howls.

"This is..." Everyone who witnessed this scene was stunned; they had never seen such power before.

"This is our new hope!" Ning Yu's voice rang out across the battlefield, firm and full of power. "We will definitely defeat them and rebuild our homes!"

Suddenly, a violent coughing sound came from the crowd. Ning Yu turned around sharply and saw Mu Xue standing in the crowd, clutching her chest and looking pale.

"Why are you here? Your injuries haven't healed yet!" Ning Yu rushed to Mu Xue's side, his voice filled with worry.

Mu Xue grabbed Ning Yu's arm and said weakly, "Don't worry about me, I'm fine... cough cough... I want to fight alongside you!"
