Chapter 449 Another Tyrant

Todd's golden dragon eyes looked at Scáthach, and he asked again, "Dead or alive?"

The latter nodded expressionlessly, turned around, and left the hall with heavy steps.

Following Meredith, Todd crawled out of the temple on all fours and couldn't help but ask, "What happened to Cú Chulainn?"

Meredith stepped out of the door of the temple's back corridor and said softly, "Do you remember the tyrant's fate I mentioned to you?"

"Are you referring to that choice between being human or a monster?"

“Those who come to the Land of Shadows and pass the three trials will receive the Tyrant’s gift and become demigods.” Meredith walked forward with his head down: “Demigods will need to make a final choice about their fate on their journey ahead.”

"Either relinquish the power of the tyrant and live as a human...or accept the final baptism, become an eternal monster, and step into the holy realm of the gods."

Meredith stopped and said to Todd with a sigh, "Cú Chulainn is wavering between these two paths. He wants power, but he is also afraid of the unknown."

Todd straightened up and shook his slightly stiff dragon tail: "Let me guess, Cú Chulainn initially said he needed to consider his next move, just like me. But he didn't return for a long time, and he kept using the Tyrant's power. So, in the end, his power got out of control, and he became a monster who lost his mind?"

Meredith leaned against a broken stone pillar, looking up at the southern sky: “Things haven’t gotten that bad yet, but they’re not far off… I heard that he has now returned to his homeland—the Kingdom of Ulster—and met with King Conchierber.”

Todd spread his dragon wings and said in a deep voice, "If that's the case, then I can't ignore his situation even more. Please tell Scáthach that I will complete her mission as soon as possible."

As soon as he finished speaking, Todd flapped his dragon wings and rose into the air, flying rapidly towards Froststone City.

Froststone City came into Todd's view on the morning of the second day.

The city's residents emerged from the buildings of varying heights, stretching and carrying their tools, ready to begin their busy day.

The enormous figure blocked out the sunlight, causing everyone to look up.

"Son of the Gods!"

As the black dragon swept swiftly across the city, large numbers of believers knelt on the ground, and prayers and hymns echoed throughout the city.

Flying over the central basin of Froststone City, Todd slowly landed on the open ground behind the temple, adjusted his posture, and folded his dragon wings.

Recalling his conversation with Leviathan about the 'Seed of Souls', Todd turned his gaze to the wide, flat ground in front of him and let out a clear, resonant dragon roar towards the sky.

The old woman Minnie led the shamans out of the temple gates, knelt before the black dragon, and bowed her head.

Todd said to the shamans in front of him, "Immediately organize people to build a pilgrimage site on this flat land."

“A pilgrimage site?” Minnie asked, puzzled. “Child of the gods, what is this building for? Are there any requirements for its construction and decoration?”

After a moment's thought, Todd said, "The sanctuary is the gateway to the sacred realms of the gods, and the only path into the kingdom of Asgard. Only the most devout and virtuous believers are permitted to enter this building..."

The black dragon's words thrilled the shamans, one of them beaming with excitement, exclaiming, "Great Son of the Gods! This sanctuary will be the pinnacle of the world! To be able to step into this place will be the highest reward the divine realm can bestow upon mortals!"

Todd turned to Minnie: "I allow you to use all the resources in the city to build this sanctuary. The entire project can be completed in phases; initially, only one enclosed room needs to be built."

After discussing the requirements of the pilgrimage site with the shamans for a while, as well as the recent events in Froststone, Todd indicated that the men could begin construction.

Immediately afterwards, Todd summoned Evie, who was in charge of external combat reconnaissance, to his side in the soul space.

"Has the Griffin reconnaissance team received any news from the front lines recently?"

Ivy was a little puzzled as to why Todd would suddenly ask such questions, so she replied, "The Froststone City warband has already reached the gates of Ulster's capital and is currently cutting down trees to manufacture siege weapons. I estimate that the battle report of the fall of the Kingdom of Ulster will arrive in the next few days."

Seeing Todd remain silent, Ivy inquired, "Are you worried about the outcome of this war? In my opinion, victory is a foregone conclusion. Before the war even began, we had already scouted every corner of Ulster's capital, and the chapter commanders of Froststone City had already devised the best attack plan based on the city's defenses, troop strength, and terrain. As for those Connaughts, they're cowering in their homes, too afraid to even send scouts to the battlefield."

Todd looked down at the Valkyrie: "I know an experienced and shrewd general who once told me this: In war, nothing is immutable. Plans that are well-planned in the early stages are often disrupted by unexpected factors and become impossible to execute."

Ivy lowered her head and pondered for a moment before saying, "I will send another team of Griffin Valkyries to the front lines again."

Todd nodded and said, "I hope my worries are unnecessary."

Seven days later, Todd's worst fears came true.

A battle report stained with blood was presented to him, which read as follows:
