Meredith was completely bewildered by Todd's explanation: "You mean... the superpowers come from these microorganisms called bacteria and viruses...?"
“That’s right. Through the soul materialization skill, I can use the dark matter in my body to synthesize bacteria and viruses, and thereby gain corresponding superpowers. Moreover, I only need to create a small cluster of microorganisms, and they can complete self-replication in my body and eventually reach the corresponding concentration for the use of superpowers.” Todd opened his mouth, gesturing for Meredith to notice the flickering flames in his mouth.
"For example, the Flame Breath ability. I didn't have this ability in my body before. But through books and microscopes, I have clearly understood the structure of Flame Breath bacteria. So, using the ability of soul materialization, I can create a small number of Flame Breath bacteria in my body using dark matter and let them reproduce on their own."
Meredith closed his eyes and kept waving his right hand at Todd: "Stop, stop! I don't understand what you're talking about at all! This explanation ends here, let's go see my master."
Seeing the other person's distressed expression, Todd shrugged helplessly: "Okay."
Following Meredith, Todd crouched low and squeezed into the temple's hall, where he saw Scáthach standing before the statue.
The latter's face betrayed neither joy nor sorrow; he simply said quietly, "Todd, I need your help with something."
Todd lay prone on the ground, trying his best to keep his tail and dragon wings from hitting the temple pillars, and whispered, "Please tell me, and if I can do it, I will do my best to accomplish it."
Scáthach looked at the broken statue and said, "As the first creations of the Crystal Constellation—the Forerunners—we cannot directly interfere with this world; we can only indirectly influence everything through a third party."
Todd nodded. "I understand."
Scáthach turned around, her long purple hair swaying gently in the breeze. Looking into Todd's eyes, she slowly said, "Not long ago, one of my apprentices left the Shadow Kingdom before completing his training. Now, I want you to bring him back to the Shadow Kingdom..."
The image of the man he had fought with flashed through Todd's mind: "Was it Cú Chulainn? Where is he now?"
Meredith said, "He is currently in the Kingdom of Ulster..."
Scáthach's next words startled Todd: "Todd, bring Cú Chulainn to me... dead or alive..."
