An associate professor in life engineering travels to a medieval European fantasy world. Using modern biochemistry, he discovers that viruses, bacteria, and parasites extinct in human history are a...
Evie: "It sounds very simple."
Rachel: "If all goes well."
Ivy breathed a sigh of relief: "Then what are we waiting for? Let's begin!"
Suddenly, Rachel took something out of her bosom and put it into Ivy's hand.
Evie looked closely and saw that it was a sealed glass tube containing a light blue liquid—the raw vaccine solution for the necromantic virus.
Rachel: "Take this with you."
After hesitating for a moment, Evie finally put the vial of vaccine away.
A few minutes later, Ivy and Hyatt, wearing dragon bone armor, were instantly transported into the sea at the stern of the ship amidst a spatial distortion.
Evie struggled to find her way amidst the murky seawater and the remains of the undead.
Before she could find the propeller, Aisha's urgent shouts suddenly came from inside the hive.
"That guy, it's back!"
Evie: "What did you say?"
Aisha: "That giant undead that attacked us is now two kilometers directly below us and is rising! You need to hurry!"
Evie: "Damn it!"
Evie quickened her pace, groping along the keel deck at the stern, and finally found the propeller.
The four propellers were so entangled by the remains of the undead parasites that the blades were almost invisible. From a distance, they looked like a pile of knotted ropes.
Ivy drew her sword and used all her strength to hack at the undead remains wrapped around the propeller.
Hyatt also pulled out a prepared dagger to help with the cleanup.
The limbs of the necromantic parasite fell off one after another, like rain.
Aisha's voice in the hive grew increasingly urgent: "That big guy is still 1,500 meters away from you, and it's followed by a large horde of undead!"
Evie quickened her pace, cutting away one parasite fragment after another that was wrapped around the propeller bearing.
After some effort, the first propeller was finally cleaned up.
Aisha urged, "Hurry up! The undead are less than a kilometer away!"
Evie continued working, then shouted angrily, "I'm already fast!"
It took Evie and Hyatt another minute or so to finally clean the second propeller.
Just as she swam toward the third propeller, a tuna covered in parasites rammed straight into Ivy.
With a backhand slash, Ivy cut the undead fish in two.
However, out of the corner of her eye, Ivy noticed that more and more undead were swimming rapidly toward her in the distant sea.
Ivy contacted the warship: "We've cleared both propellers. Can the ship move now?"
Aisha: "The ship can move forward at half speed, but that speed is not enough to shake off the undead. We must clear out at least one more propeller!"
Seeing the growing number of undead in front of her, Ivy drew the folded spear from her back. Holding the spear in one hand and a sword in the other, she shouted to Hyatt through the Hive, "You go and clear out the last propeller. I'll hold them off!"
A sea serpent infected by necromancy swam toward Ivy.
With the ability to slow down time, Ivy shifted her mind, and everything around her seemed to be playing in slow motion. She seized the opportunity and thrust her spear forward.
The spear tip pierced the sea serpent's head, and with a twist of the elbow, the entire snake was instantly torn to pieces, its parasitic limbs scattering apart.
Evie's spear and dagger danced incessantly, and hundreds of undead came before her, shattering into fragments like mud and rocks hitting a sturdy shield, falling into the deep sea like snowflakes.
Suddenly, countless enormous undead parasitic limbs rushed out from the dark depths of the sea.
Evie cut some off, but quite a few still slipped through the net.
The enormous parasitic limbs coiled around Hyatt, who was cleaning the propeller with a dagger, and dragged him into the deep sea.
Aisha's voice came from inside the hive: "Watch out! That big guy is coming!"
Evie rushed into the deep sea, trying to rescue Hyatt. After swimming some distance, she finally saw the "big guy" that Aisha had mentioned.
It was a whale covered in giant undead parasites.
