Chapter 255: Brother! Hold on!

Thick smoke mixed with the smell of blood filled Room 101.

Staying here is waiting for death. Although the alarms are blaring outside, the agents on the street seem to have not reacted yet.

We must take this opportunity and rush out.

Reeves picked up his gun and strode out of the room.

The agent who had just arrived outside the door only saw a flash of a figure before being knocked down by the precise burst of gunfire that followed.

Ribbs fired as he moved, leaving scarlet footprints in the pool of blood with every step he took.

Blood had already soaked through his tattered and filthy maid costume, turning it into an even more grotesque and terrifying battle robe.

"Target breakthrough! Target breakthrough! Repeat, the target is moving east in the corridor of Area A!"

"Seal Door B! Team C flank him! Don't let him enter the office area!"

"He has heavy weapons! Repeat, the target is holding an M4A1 carbine!"

Shouts, the whistling of bullets, and the collision of equipment were intertwined.

The entire IRS building was in an uproar.

The elites of the Secret Service, the NYPD SWAT officers who arrived, and even the building's own armed security guards, rushed in from all directions and every conceivable exit like a school of sharks smelling blood.

Ribs's brain was unusually cold and clear. [Physical Fitness] not only brought him strength, but also an extraordinary reaction speed under high stress.

He didn't care about the route at all, he only followed one principle: go out as fast as possible! Away from the center of the storm, the IRS!

While engaging in a firefight with the enemy, Ribs moved at high speed between the intricate office areas.

When faced with fire suppression, he instantly lay down and rolled over, and the flames from the muzzle of his gun reaped the advancing enemies.

Time lost its meaning, only the roar of adrenaline and the continued accumulation of physical wear and tear. He had lost count of how many magazines he had emptied, and the spare rifle and pistol magazines in his [Quick Inventory] were dwindling.

Any threat that appeared within his sight was instantly struck down. His right arm was numb and swollen from the continuous firing and recoil, and the excruciating pain from his old left shoulder injury began to pierce his heart like a venomous snake bite. The wound on his cheek, grazed by a bullet, opened again, and blood mixed with sweat and dirt flowed down.

Under heavy siege, Ribs held on for more than two hours.

Finally, during a break in the firing, Ribbs rushed to the back door of the IRS - a heavy fire door covered with bulletproof steel plates.

The door is mechanically locked from the inside and needs to be opened via the control panel next to it or by internal command.

However, he could see swaying figures and flashing police lights outside through the narrow bulletproof glass observation window.

There were more enemies outside the door, and behind him, the footsteps and shouts of the pursuers were getting closer and closer, like rolling stones through the corridor.

There's no time.

The bullets were almost exhausted - there was only half a magazine left in the M4A1, and there were three bullets left in the pistol.

Reeves's eyes sharpened. He took a few steps back, gripping the M4A1 with both hands, and fired wildly at the area near the door lock structure!

Dadadadada——!!!

The last half of the magazine's bullets emptied like a flood, blasting into the door lock and hinges! Sparks flew, denting and deforming the thick steel! Bullets tore through the metal structure.

Snap! A sharp, tooth-grinding sound! One of the most important mechanical locks was shattered by the dense barrage of bullets!

Ribs threw away the smoking, scalding M4A1 and sprinted towards the heavy fire door! He used all his strength, unleashing the terrifying power accumulated from [Body Strengthening] without reservation!

“Ugh—Ahhh!!!”

With a beast-like roar, he used his shoulder to violently slam the heavy fire door open!

He squeezed out from the gap like a fish!

The blinding white light made his eyes pale—the searchlights of several police cars were locked on him!

"The target is out!" "Free fire! Kill him!" "Watch out! He's out!"

The police and agents waiting outside immediately raised their guns! The black muzzles of the guns were densely packed!

Reeves subconsciously flew towards the nearest police car. When he rushed into the driver's seat, he felt as if he was hit by several sledgehammers at the same time.

The warm and sticky liquid quickly spread across the chest and abdomen. The severe pain delayed for half a second before sweeping through the nerves like a tsunami, and every cell was screaming.

"Ah!" He groaned, his teeth almost breaking.

My vision instantly blurred and then forced into focus, distorting what was before my eyes into a bizarre display of neon lights and flashing police lights.

Da da da da da! Another string of bullets rained down on the rear of the car, blowing half of the trunk lid off and sending glass shards and debris flying.

Finally, when Ribs used up his last bit of strength to turn the key, the engine roared angrily!

"Charge!" A flash of blood appeared in Reeves' eyes. He used his knees to support the bottom of the steering wheel to stabilize the direction, and stepped hard on the accelerator!

The battered police car suddenly lunged forward, its front end violently smashing through the makeshift roadblock formed by several police cars in front of it.

Reeves forced himself to stay conscious and maneuver the police car, which could fall apart at any time, through the complex streets.

He pushed [Body Fitness] to the limit, barely maintaining control of the steering wheel to avoid the oncoming vehicles and the horrified gazes of passers-by.

One hour.

It seemed like a century. The sirens of pursuit drifted closer and farther through the city's steel jungle, and the huge beams of light from helicopters in the sky scanned the ground like shadows.

The cold feeling caused by excessive blood loss began to spread from the limbs to the torso, the eyelids felt like they were filled with lead, and every blink felt like falling into eternal darkness.
