Chapter Three: Shopping Spree

The warehouse was rented on the way here. It's in the suburbs and is about 100 square meters in size. There are warehouses of all sizes around there. People drive around and no one cares what you're transporting every day or when it's being moved. It's much more convenient to put things in the warehouse.

Afterwards, I went to the grocery store and bought salt, sugar, light soy sauce, dark soy sauce, oyster sauce, vinegar, cooking wine, star anise, cinnamon, cumin, salt and pepper, chili powder, hot pot base, pickled fish packets, various vegetable packets, barbecue seasoning, broad bean paste, beef sauce, chili sauce, tomato sauce, sesame paste, and other seasonings. Seasonings are scarce in the post-apocalyptic world. Since the factories have all stopped production, they are being used up little by little. In the end, I also asked for the owner's contact information so that I could buy from him again next time.

These items aren't as bulky as rice and oil, and since I bought a small amount, I could just put them in the car. The car is designed to prevent peeping, so people inside can see outside, but people outside can't see inside. So once I got into the car, I put everything inside the storage space.

After finishing, I checked the time and drove to the warehouse. The warehouse was rented and a manager was hired to manage the unloading every day. This way, I didn't have to rush to unload the goods every day. I just needed to go there in the evening to put the things into my space. As for the things not being there the next day, I could just say that I had someone take them away in the middle of the night. Most people wouldn't notice that.

On the way there, I ate a few steamed buns that I had bought earlier. When I arrived at the warehouse, the truck was still unloading, but it was almost done. I just had to wait a little while.

It was already 8:30 p.m. when all the goods were unloaded. After settling the wages with the drivers and unloading workers and the payment with the grain and oil shop owner, everyone left. Jiang Li waited for another half hour before going into the warehouse.

Because you have to touch the items to put them into the storage space, it took a long time to finish putting them all away.

I still need to order a few more shelves tomorrow; that way, it will be much easier to find things when organizing and tidying up.

After leaving the warehouse, Jiang Li didn't plan to go home. Instead, he went to a relatively large night market not far from the city. He had only eaten a few steamed buns during the day, so now he was going to treat himself properly.

It was already 9:30 when Jiang Li arrived at the night market. The streets were bustling with people, filled with laughter and chatter. This vibrant scene made Jiang Li feel a little dazed. He hadn't experienced such a scene in a long time, and he knew that he wouldn't see it again in another six months. At least, he hadn't seen it before he died in his previous life.

Coming to her senses, Jiang Li looked at the dazzling array of food and smelled the various aromas in the air. She felt her mouth watering and couldn't wait to go inside.

Barbecue, cold noodles, stinky tofu, grilled squid, takoyaki, fried potatoes, roujiamo (Chinese hamburger)... Jiang Li bought everything from start to finish, basically buying two portions of everything from each stall. He ate one portion and secretly put the other into his spatial storage. Only after he was full did he slowly head home.

After getting home and quickly washing up, I took out the paper I printed yesterday and checked off the items I bought today, then added a few more things.

Looking at the bank card balance sent to my phone, I spent a total of 500,000 today and still have 1.3 million left in the card. I decided to order shelves first and then buy a few water containers tomorrow. Water resources will be very scarce in the future, so of course I need to prepare more. I need to buy the essentials first.

There's a large farmers' market about half an hour's drive from the apartment. It has a wide variety of vegetables and meats, and everything you need is there. I plan to go there tomorrow to shop, and I can also buy some seeds and seedlings to plant in my space.

Jiang Li had tried it; animals could survive in the space on the right, but unfortunately, humans couldn't go in.

I dug several large pits in the space on the right and filled them with water to put live shrimp, fish and the like in tomorrow. The shrimp are too small and I'm worried they'll eat the fish if we keep them together. Since the middle is already like this, I might as well raise them separately.

Then I cleared a few more plots of land to plant some trees and seeds tomorrow. It's really convenient to control with my mind in this space. I don't know how long it would take if I did it myself.

Before going to sleep, Jiang Li organized the supplies in her space. After organizing them and looking at the supplies, Jiang Li finally felt a little safe. At least in this life, she wouldn't have to worry about food like she did in her previous life.
