Chapter 354: I Still Can’t Get on the Plane Back Home
After Shen Lanshu left, the VIP waiting room suddenly became quiet.
Zheng let out a long sigh and collapsed into the soft sofa.
Fu Linghe immediately came over like a large dog, and his silver hair rubbed her neck, making it itchy.
"Mrs. Fu," he said with a hint of mischief in his voice, "you were acting so conscientious in front of Mom just now."
Yun Zheng blushed and pushed him away, "Who's pretending? It's obviously you..."
Before she could finish her words, Fu Linghe had already lowered his head and sealed her lips.
The kiss was sudden and passionate, and Yun Zheng's hands unconsciously grabbed the front of his shirt, crumpling the expensive fabric into a ball.
Silver hair fell, forming a shining barrier between the two of them.
"Your lipstick is smudged again." When they separated, Fu Linghe rubbed her slightly swollen lower lip with his thumb, a triumphant smile in his eyes.
Yun Zheng angrily slapped his hand away, "Fu Linghe! This is a public place!"
"The VIP lounge is all private rooms, so how can it be public?" He leaned lazily on the armrest of the sofa, his silver hair gleaming coolly under the light. "Besides, is it illegal for me to kiss my own wife?"
Yun Zheng was about to retort when a uniformed flight attendant knocked on the glass door and walked in.
"Mrs. Fu, someone is looking for you in the VIP lounge next door."
Yun Zheng and Fu Linghe were both stunned. Fu Linghe raised an eyebrow and looked at his wife, "You have a date?"
"No." Yun Zheng shook her head in confusion, her fingers twisting unconsciously. In Country A, besides the Mo family, she knew almost no one.
Fu Linghe stood up, his silver hair swaying slightly as he moved. "Let's go take a look."
He held out his hand to her, palm up.
Yun Zheng hesitated for a moment, but still put her hand on it.
Fu Linghe's hands were warm and dry, easily wrapping around her slightly cold fingertips. This touch made her feel at ease.
The corridor was covered with thick carpet, completely absorbing the sound of footsteps.
Yun Zheng's heartbeat was getting faster and faster, like a restless deer running around in her chest.
She didn't know what she was nervous about, but this inexplicable premonition made her breathing quicken.
"Relax." Fu Linghe squeezed her hand, his eyes beneath his silver hair holding a soothing smile. "I'm here."
Yun Zheng forced a smile, but froze in place the moment she pushed open the door of the adjacent lounge.
Four familiar figures turned around at the same time.
Yun Zheng calmed down and looked up at them, "Why are you here?"
The first to speak was Old Man Mo, who was leaning on a cane. His mottled hands tightly gripped the dragon-headed cane in his hand. "Zheng Zheng, you two are going back. We're here to see you off."
Ning Zhi looked at her with red eyes, "I'll ask your dad..."
She paused, and seeing that Yun Zheng's mood hadn't changed, she continued, "I've prepared some local specialties. Take them back and try them to see if you like them."
After Ning Zhi finished speaking, the black-clad bodyguards behind him came forward dragging boxes, standing in a black mass, and each box was labeled with the contents inside.
Yun Zheng looked at the boxes piled up in front of her, her fingertips trembling slightly.
Fu Linghe noticed her abnormality, and a sharp glint flashed in his eyes under his silver hair, but he just took half a step forward calmly and held her in his arms.
Yun Zheng looked at the box in front of her, and suddenly there was a hint of bitterness in her eyes. Perhaps it was because she had not experienced the warmth of family love for too long.
"Thank you." She suppressed her sobs and turned to look at Fu Linghe, "Let them take it directly to the plane, husband."
When Fu Linghe heard the word "husband", his silver-gray eyes suddenly darkened and his hand around her waist tightened suddenly.
He looked down at her, his voice low and dangerous, "Scream again?"
Yun Zheng's ears turned slightly red, and she said, trying to hide her guilt, "Please take the things first."
Just as the assistants were about to move all the boxes away, Mr. Mo suddenly raised his hand and signaled them to stop.
He tremblingly took out a dark red brocade box from his arms. The surface of the box was embroidered with intricate dragon and phoenix patterns in gold thread. It was obviously an old object.
"Zheng Zheng." The old man's voice was hoarse, but very solemn. "This is the marriage certificate written by grandpa himself. Please accept it."
Yun Zheng was stunned, her fingertips curled up slightly, and she didn't reach out to take it immediately.
Mr. Mo sighed, his wrinkled hands gently stroking the brocade box. "We...don't know if we'll have the chance to attend your engagement party, so I'll give this to you first."
Fu Linghe noticed Yun Zheng's stiffness, reached out to take the brocade box, and with a flick of his fingertips, the lid opened.
Inside was a piece of yellowed rice paper with a wedding congratulation written in vigorous calligraphy, signed with Mr. Mo's signature and seal.
Yun Zheng stared at the paper, her throat slightly tightening.
Ning Zhi saw this and hurried forward, suppressing her emotions. "Zheng Zheng, there's a wedding dress in that box. I designed it myself. I don't know if you like it."
Before Yun Zheng could answer, Mo Chenfeng, who was standing beside her, suddenly spoke up, "I've also prepared a few sets of small jewelry. Go back and open them and take a look."
Yun Zheng looked at them in front of her, and her chest felt like being gently bumped by something, sour and unfamiliar.
Fu Linghe glanced at the Mo family, suddenly chuckled, and reached out to take the marriage certificate. His tone was lazy but unquestionable, "Thank you, I'll accept it for her."
He put his arm around Yun Zheng's waist and whispered in her ear, "Mrs. Fu, you have to say thank you for the gift, okay?"
Yun Zheng took a deep breath and finally looked up at the Mo family. Her voice was soft but clear, "Thank you."
Mr. Mo's eyes were slightly red, and he nodded heavily.
Ning Zhi covered her mouth and tears silently fell.
Fu Linghe didn't give them another chance to get sentimental. He simply embraced Yun Zheng and turned around, his voice low and smiling, "Let's go home."
Seeing this, Mr. Mo finally showed a trace of relief on his wrinkled face. He took a step forward with his cane and said in a hoarse voice, "Zheng Zheng, from now on... come back often."
Ning Zhi couldn't help but step forward, her eyes red, her fingers tightly clenched around her handkerchief. She seemed to want to say something, but was afraid of annoying her. In the end, she only whispered, "Be careful on the road..."
Yun Zheng's eyelashes trembled, her throat tightened slightly, and in the end she just nodded slightly.
Yun Zheng was led out by him, with the Mo family members watching silently behind her.
It was not until she walked out of the lounge that she breathed a sigh of relief, and her tense shoulders finally relaxed.
Fu Linghe glanced at her sideways, gently pinched the back of her neck with his fingertips, and said jokingly, "Why, are you touched?"
Yun Zheng pursed her lips and whispered, "I just didn't expect them to come."
When it was time to board the plane, the flight attendant came over to call them personally.
Yun Zheng's fingers twisted together unconsciously, and her knuckles turned white.
Fu Linghe gently squeezed her palm, his silver hair shining coldly under the bright lights of the airport.
"Let's go." He whispered, his voice firm and unyielding.
Yun Zheng nodded, but couldn't help but look back.
The Mo family stood not far from the boarding gate. Old Man Mo was leaning on a cane, Ning Zhi's eyes were as red as a rabbit, and Mo Chenfeng stood silently by.
Mo Shi'an didn't say anything, but his emotions were complicated when he looked at Yun Zheng, mostly reluctance.
"Zheng Zheng~" Ning Zhi took a small step forward, then stopped timidly, as if afraid of disturbing something.
Yun Zheng's throat tightened.
She forced herself to turn around and follow Fu Linghe towards the boarding gate.
The carpet under her feet was so soft that she could hardly stand. She turned back every three steps and met the eager gazes of the Mo family every time.
"Mrs. Fu." Fu Linghe whispered in her ear, his warm breath brushing her earlobe. "If you keep looking at me like this, I'll be jealous."
Yun Zheng forced a smile, but it looked uglier than crying.
She knew she should leave without looking back, but her legs felt as heavy as if they were filled with lead.
Those piles of gifts, that yellowed wedding certificate, the wedding dress designed by myself...
These things were like countless tiny hooks, hooking the softest part of her heart.
"I'm fine." She said softly, more like trying to convince herself.
At the end of the boarding passage, the flight attendants were waiting for them with a smile.
Yun Zheng took a deep breath and raised her foot to step into the cabin. At that moment, there was a sudden commotion behind her.
"Ning Zhi!"
"mom!"
"Call an ambulance!"
The scream pierced Yun Zheng's eardrums like a sharp arrow. She turned around suddenly and saw Ning Zhi slowly falling like a falling leaf, Mo Chenfeng and Old Man Mo frantically holding her up.
Ning Zhi's face was pale, and she leaned in Mo Chenfeng's arms like a broken porcelain doll, without a trace of life.
Yun Zheng's mind went blank.
By the time she reacted, she had already broken free from Fu Linghe's hand and ran towards Ning Zhi.
Her high heels tripped on the carpet and she almost fell, but she didn't care.
There were rapid breathing and heartbeats in my ears, and I couldn't tell whether they were my own or someone else's.
"Mom!" The word came out of her mouth, strange yet familiar.
Fu Linghe followed closely behind, his silver hair drawing a shining arc in the air.
He hurriedly supported Yun Zheng's shaky body steadily.
Yun Zheng herself didn't know how she walked to Ning Zhi's side, and she didn't even feel her knees hit the marble floor hard.
She trembled and grabbed Ning Zhi's cold wrist, the pulse under her fingertips so weak that it was almost undetectable.
"Mom...Mom!" Her voice was broken and tears fell on Ning Zhi's pale face.
Ning Zhi's eyelashes trembled slightly, but she couldn't open her eyes.
Fu Linghe half-knelt behind her, his silver hair hanging down on his shoulders. One hand firmly held her waist, and with the other hand he had already dialed the emergency number.
Yun Zheng seemed not to hear any sound and just stared at Ning Zhi's pale lips.
"Don't scare me..." She shook her head unconsciously, and her fingers stroked Ning Zhi's face in panic.
Perhaps it was due to her blood, but at this moment Yun Zheng's heart felt like it was being tightly grasped by an invisible big hand, causing her to feel so painful that she couldn't breathe.
It was exactly the same news she heard when Fu Linghe was in trouble.
Yun Zheng's throat tightened, but she didn't know what to say, so she just held Ning Zhi's hand tightly.
Her mind was blank now and she had no idea what to do.
