Chapter 44 Finally Awakening The clown appeared, and he…

The light spots began to surge back and forth in an unknown corner. Everything that was shining brightly in the world seemed to be guiding her. Enid finally opened her eyes, and after weakly and wearily recording the geographical coordinates, she transmitted them to the public channel.

Overusing power that wasn't her own left Enid somewhat exhausted, but she dared not rest at all. Instead, she began to use the remaining power to recover her strength. Divine power was constantly washing over her body, making her pale face look better.

Some divine power could make her feel better, but too much divine power made her feel worse. Enid smiled bitterly and roughly understood why. She seemed to sense the disapproval from her mother goddess. With slightly red eyes, she looked into the distance, where she could probably glimpse the appearance of her father and others, but she could only remain silent now.

"Miss Fia, are you feeling any better now?"

"It's alright, Afu, I'm fine now."

Enid came out, smiled at Afu, and said that her basic work was done. Now it was time to start monitoring the current situation of the Stormborn. She needed to be prepared.

After receiving Enid's coordinates, the others arrived at their respective locations one after another under Bruce's arrangement. Zatanna and Wonder Woman were also ready. Of course, Superman didn't come, after all, his magic resistance is well known, right?

It seemed not to have fully awakened in the storm, but such places could already be seen: ruins on the verge of collapse, the violent rain beginning its rampage, and the slow struggle of dead bodies.

Batman remained vigilant and concealed, not revealing his body. His opponent, seemingly unaware, brazenly displayed their appearance, revealing an inhuman physique somewhat resembling Red Storm, yet entirely different. Batman's tracking signal had already silently followed.

"This is bad news. The Gotham subway has been completely shut down."

The Jokers finally made their move. Just when everyone thought it was over, the Jokers, who had been hiding in the crowd, hijacked all the drivers. The subway came to a standstill, and countless Jokers hidden in the crowd revealed their ridiculous and despicable faces. An atmosphere of despair seemed to finally spread.

Although the breath of despair has been destroyed, despair will not; it will always rise again when hope is at its last glimmer.

"Red Robin, the Joker."

“The Joker is obviously still inside, it’s very quiet…” Tim had been monitoring the Joker’s movements and found it strange that he was acting strangely. “Maybe I need to go check on him.”

Tim planned to go directly to Arkham to take a look. Although various surveillance devices, and the ones that were added later, were all reporting that everything was safe, he was still worried. When he said this, he was almost there. And just as he thought, what was inside was not the Joker, but something similar to the Joker.

Just as he was about to arrive, Enid's message suddenly popped up, and at that moment, the Joker transformed into a brilliant firework, blasting the remaining part of Arkham to pieces.

Do you like Uncle Clown's gift?

A line of text appeared above: "Vital signs detection, other testing instruments, and even the naked eye all show no problems. However, that's not the Joker; it's magic." Tim pondered where the Joker might be heading while simultaneously updating all the information, while Bruce also used his clever mind to think.

Enid clicked on the video, and even through it, she seemed to sense a hint of madness.

What she sent to Tim was that the location where the Joker appeared also showed abnormal fluctuations.

"This joke doesn't seem very funny anymore."

Dick frowned and complained. All the abnormal coordinates that Enid sent out, when strung together, formed a clown's head, a hand-drawn chibi-style head that was not cute at all but rather disgusting. Was this the clown's purpose?

Of course, that's not all; the story seems to be getting more and more complicated.

Fortunately, one thing is certain: the Son of Storms has awakened.

"High Druid, have the coordinates of the Stormborn been determined?"

"Yes, we've located him. Although he's awake now, he's still scattered. It will take time for him to reassemble. We can't kill him during this period; we can only do so after he's reassembled."

Upon receiving Dick's message, Enid quickly sketched out several even stranger points based on the previous pattern. These were all locations where the Storm Child truly existed, but currently, he was in a brief period of invincibility during his resurrection. He could only be killed after this resurrection period had passed.

For some reason, Dick had a slight feeling that something was wrong. It was Enid's choice of words and the calmness on her face that he could read even though he couldn't see clearly. He keenly connected it with Bruce's unusual behavior recently, but now was not a good time to speak.

"Can you deduce where he will eventually be?"

“Me? Hmm…maybe we can have Red Robin take a look?” Enid paused, her words suddenly reminding Dick of Tim, so Dick softened his voice slightly: “Don’t worry, Archdruid, you should trust yourself.”

"Yes, you know that thing very well, don't you?"

Tim agreed with Dick and chimed in. Hearing this, Enid took a deep breath, drew a red circle around a spot, and said very seriously, "Here, he'll go here."

"good."

Bruce's voice suddenly came on the channel. They had already started arranging for people to ambush that place, while the rest continued to deal with the Joker. The Joker was indeed the Joker, putting on a show that you could never get tired of watching. His face was on the TV, and there was even a smug expression on his face about what he had just done.

"Did you enjoy the show the clown put on?! It was fantastic, wasn't it!"

The clown's voice rang out, a shrill sound filled with fear that extinguished any joy. At that moment, no one applauded or cheered; only terrified faces stared at each other.

"Is no one laughing? Are they unhappy?"

His question was more like the call of death. Caught off guard, a stench of bright red blood exploded nearby, followed by loud applause and laughter. Everyone was laughing, but it seemed like no one was truly laughing.

Wonder Woman and Zatanna were already on their way to the place where the Stormbringers were about to appear, while Bruce was going to see the Joker—it was his job, not the Justice League's. Enid watched the Joker on the TV show and saw the bright red dot on the coordinates, but she couldn't calm down and trembled.

She wasn't afraid; Enid wasn't actually afraid at all. She had been prepared all along.

“Miss Fia, you promised you wouldn’t go out, right?” Afu’s voice rang out at just the right time. Enid paused for a moment and then nodded, just like usual. Afu remained vigilant but didn’t say anything more.

The Bat Cave remained tense and silent, while the program's audio gradually shifted to another segment.

"I heard Batman has a new sidekick, um, Druid, right?" Enid's codename suddenly appeared in the Joker's mouth. Bruce's alarm was already turned up to the maximum. Others who were eager to make their move were also lying in ambush in the dark. As with every time he escaped, Bruce could still know his plan.

But this time, things are slightly different; the existence of the Storm Child is the biggest variable.

His records are all unclear, and his abilities are not very clear, but Bruce is never afraid. He is only worried about Gotham, about Nightwing, Red Hood, Red Robin, the orphan of Oracle, Robin, and... Enid, all of them.

"I can't wait to meet our new hero, right, Batman? You'll grant me that wish, won't you?"

“Penny one, keep going and don’t let the druid leave. We’ll deal with the clown.”

The Joker's urging continued, but Bruce calmly instructed Alfred as if he hadn't heard the Joker's voice. Although he didn't know the reason, no one objected to his decision at this moment. Instead, they continued to face the Joker's next attack according to the plan.

The lit torches begin to burn against each other, and dawn will rise before the ashes are blown out, without exception.

It's nighttime, but it seems to be glowing now; lightning has illuminated the entire sky.

"All the bombs here have been defused." The troublemaker clapped his hands and spoke into the channel, looking at a pile of defunct bombs. Then the voice of the orphan rang out, and one bomb after another was defused. The latest nitrous oxide had been transported to the laboratory, and research on an antidote was being accelerated.

"The antidote has been researched, but something is strange. This time, the nitrous oxide formula only has one more update... Perhaps we should consider the Storm Child."

Tim frowned at the newly developed nitrous oxide formula. He was clearly puzzled because the operation had gone too smoothly. Bruce glanced at the information and immediately said, "Compare the formula for Breath of Despair. Nightwing, check if there are any unusual movements from the Stormborn."

"No, the Sons of Storms are still rebuilding, and there have been no casualties."

Nightwing had been watching the situation closely and was surprised that there were no casualties. Then, just moments after he finished speaking, a huge explosion rang out from a corner. Red Hood was the closest to the explosion and went over. There was no smell of gunpowder or even blood.

"The coordinates have been destroyed." Jason noticed that this was the location Enid had marked as the site of the Stormborn fragments. It seemed they were planning to destroy every single one. Bruce noticed this and ordered them to prepare for action.

Finally, one section was stopped before the explosion, leaving behind light green rubble that resembled kryptonite, but was completely different; it was something else entirely, more like emerald… no, more like the color of Enid’s eyes.

Nightwing's voice rang out again. He saw the Stormborn's body slowly gathering together. He walked through the crowd, seemingly heading in the direction Enid was drawing circles in.

"The Son of the Storm has awakened."

"The Son of the Storm has awakened."

Enid's voice echoed inside the bat cave. Alfred quickly stepped forward, but the next second he could only see Enid disappear into the bat cave.

Outside the window, dawn was approaching, and a storm composed of abandoned old clouds was about to strike.
