Chapter 68 New Clues: The Remnants of the Storm, what exactly...?

"Oh, our little workaholic is coming out from inside?"

Jason looked up and saw Enid walking out of the alchemy room in high spirits. Her demeanor and state were completely different from the previous two days.

“I have a clue. According to the ancient texts, by using the connection between redstone, moonstone and sunstone can be added to form a perfect link. This link can enhance Lyra’s ability to explore specific items within a certain range.”

Enid then pulled out her notebook and ancient texts. All the translated runes had been removed from the ancient texts, and her notebook contained her understanding of her previous ideas. Although they seemed somewhat unfamiliar to Jason, they sounded quite feasible.

"Sounds good, is there a problem?"

“Hmm… the problem is, Redstone.” Enid paused. “Well, actually the original wasn’t called Redstone, but the substance mentioned here… this is probably the only analogy I can think of.”

Jason glanced at the original text, realizing something, but didn't actually see any resemblance to Redstone. However, since Enid had said so, he knew what Redstone was, and couldn't help but chuckle. He took out his phone, scrolled through it for a while, and then handed her an encyclopedia page.

“The location of the redstone is actually there.” He shrugged, his tone relaxed.

Enid glanced over with ecstatic joy, then froze. Above was an introduction to redstone from the Minecraft game, along with a general overview of how redstone veins are generated.

"I probably don't have the supernatural powers to go directly to this world and get it. How about the great Red Hood think of a way?"

“I can send it to you,” Jason paused, “Do you want the Bedrock Edition or the Java Edition?”

Enid raised her hand and made a big X in front of her chest to show her serious refusal. However, Jason's words still gave her inspiration. In fact, Enid couldn't deny that she also thought of Redstone because of Minecraft. It wasn't difficult to replicate this substance because the content written in the ancient books was, to be honest, not very suitable.

“I already have it. I’ll send it to you in advance next time and send me another game in return. I don’t need it right now. I haven’t finished several games on the Switch yet, and I haven’t rescued the princess. But I think I know how to get the red stone now.”

"Sounds good. Good luck! Maybe we can recreate something else next time. Who taught you how to play this game?"

Jason was actually a little curious. Who had managed to get a druid who knew nothing about high-tech gadgets to now be playing Minecraft and even know about redstone? This was the first time he'd ever heard of this. There was no accusation in his voice; he was simply curious. Enid paused slightly, then smiled.

“Initially, Damian, Timmy, and I all knew how to play. Don’t forget ‘Princess Tranquility’, so if we played that, we must know those too. Barbara also told me a lot.”

Becoming an internet addict only requires a mobile phone and a bank card, but she is clearly very good at controlling herself.

"Just say you need help."

Without dwelling on the game topic any further, Jason simply stated his position, and Enid nodded without hesitation, indicating that there was currently no need for her help. After finishing her chat with Jason, Enid ate dinner and, following Tim's schedule, went to the study to review her entrance coursework and other required courses (required for Archdruids).

As Enid was reading, she yawned for some reason and felt sleepy. It was rare for Enid to feel sleepy. She thought about it for a while, then looked at the timetable and thought about it again. The entrance exam was coming soon. During the hesitation, she finally buried herself in her book again, but for some reason, the sleepiness that came over her was a bit too much. She was so sleepy that she couldn't keep her eyes open.

"Dick...are you busy?"

"Hmm, you just finished working for a little while, and you missed me?"

Having just finished a short patrol, Dick was resting and taking the opportunity to investigate some recent events in Brudhaven, as well as some strange smugglers who seemed to be preparing something. While checking, he asked Nightwing to check on them later. Receiving a call from Enid, he couldn't help but chuckle at the obvious weariness in her voice.

I miss you. Is it convenient for me to come over?

“I’m in my apartment, which is convenient.” Dick paused. “But I’d rather you go and rest now; you sound very tired.”

She shook her head in surprise, then instantly teleported to Dick's apartment. As soon as she arrived, she threw herself into his arms, sat on his lap, and buried her head in his neck. Dick's hand suddenly stiffened for a moment, then he gently patted her back. Enid in his arms was a little too soft, and he could even smell the sweet citrus tea in her breath.

“I’m not sleepy anymore. I guess I’m lacking a bit of Grayson energy.” Enid joked a little. “Actually, I think sleepiness is a warning sign. Maybe I can’t just sit here and wait to die. I need to take the initiative, so I decided to come and see what you’re planning to do next.”

Enid nuzzled Dick's cheek, then gently kissed him on the lips, before pulling herself into his arms. The warmth of their skin touching and the excessive softness under his hands dispelled Dick's slight fatigue.

“Great, I happen to need a bit of Enid energy.” Dick returned her kiss. “Actually, I’ve been looking into smugglers lately, and they’re acting a bit strange. Looks like they have what you need?”

She nodded. Strangely enough, she had almost fallen asleep just now, but when she arrived in Brudhaven, Enid felt completely awake. It was as if she had only hoped to fall asleep and have a dream, but now she didn't need a dream anymore.

Perhaps she isn't completely lacking in divination talent, right?

“I think it’s like this, you know what I’ve been working on lately, and now I need materials to synthesize redstone. The Sacred Grove might have some, but if there’s any more… I guess it’s here.”

Redstone—Dick instantly knew what it was: something from Minecraft, a very mysterious mineral. He didn't doubt Enid's ability to replicate, but Dick thought much more than Enid did. He suspected that the smugglers were also acting on someone else's orders. He hadn't forgotten the books about the Stormborn that Tim had found before, not to mention that the Stormborn originally appeared on the border between Brudhaven and Gotham.

"Looks like you'll need to stay here tonight."

“Great, I don’t mind if you hold me tonight. By the way, I bought a new nightgown, it’s very pretty.”

Enid nuzzled Dick's neck; her soft hair fell on him, the ends tickling his skin. Dick remained silent, knowing Enid meant no harm, so he simply patted her hair.

“I’d be happy to be the first to appreciate it.” After saying that, Dick quickly changed the subject. Even though he was now Enid’s boyfriend, he was just being respectful and restrained himself. “Do you need to rest for a while? I’ll go tidy up a bit. Um, I admit it’s a bit messy.”

Enid noticed this as well; it wasn't her first time there. After kissing Dick's cheek, she stood up, and Dick felt a sudden emptiness in his arms. He couldn't deny feeling a little disappointed.

"It's okay, I'm not sleepy anymore. It's all settled. I'll go with you then, and we'll see how long it takes."

"OK, I'm letting you know in advance. You can rest for a while, I'm going to work now."

Enid nodded, and Dick sent her the information he had just found about the smugglers. After receiving the message, Enid opened it and looked at the somewhat familiar information. She paused for a moment, her intuition telling her that there was no mistake, this was what she needed, but this was very… wrong!

"No, this thing is definitely not what it appears to be."

Enid rejected the information about the material, and Dick nodded in agreement. In fact, he thought so too. Through various channels, they found that the material did not actually need to be smuggled, because although the customs duties in its country of origin, China, were relatively high, it was also produced in small quantities in other countries at a lower price.

At least in their own country, they can buy relatively cheap and stable goods, so there is no need to take such a big risk by smuggling, especially since this ship will not pass through China.

Remembering what Jason had said he could help, and thinking about Jason's connections in the underworld, Enid messaged Jason. It was obvious that Jason also had relevant information.

Jason: I asked around, and some guy recently made a fortune by transporting these things. Is this stuff related to redstone crafting?

Enid: No, the material is irrelevant; it's the transportation that's relevant.

After confirming that Jason would also be taking action that night, Enid spoke to Dick, whose expression turned slightly serious.

"It seems they're just using the transportation of this material as an excuse."

“That’s right,” Enid pulled up her search history on Amazon. “I checked the approximate prices and information of the materials I bought online, and this isn’t what I’m looking for. The one they shipped is the one. Only this can be reforged into redstone at high temperatures with another material, but I’m not sure if it has any other uses.”

Dick has informed Bruce that Bruce will inspect Gotham's ports, including those near Jason's Hood gang's area and others, while Bruce Haven's portion will be his responsibility.

"Then send it back to the bat cave for testing later."

Enid agreed. Suddenly, she thought of something and moved closer to Dick, her beautiful eyes looking at him, making his heart race.

"That's right. Does Nightwing need a druid to come with them tonight?"

Yes, I need you.

Author's Note: The Stormbringer is indeed dead! But he definitely has remnants, and they're very well hidden. (Nods)

There's no plot to resurrect him, but there will be remnants who make such efforts, and there are others in the other world too.

I still need to write some plot details. After I finish this plot, it will be around Big Red and Stephanie's birthday! After their birthdays, the second instance will begin!
