Chapter 753: Junyao Cinnabar Red Glaze Halberd-Extruding Vase

A large blue and white dragon jar is in the center, and twelve flower god cups are arranged in a circle outside the blue and white dragon jar, quietly floating in the air. This scene actually looks very spectacular.

To be honest, Yang Jing was a little dissatisfied with this blue and white dragon jar at first. Although this dragon jar is the most precious blue and white dragon jar of Jiajing period, the shape of this dragon jar is really......

How should I put it? Yang Jing is not complaining. In his eyes, the shape of these dragon jars in the Ming Dynasty is really speechless. You say that this dragon jar is at least a toy used by the royal family, why can't you design it more beautifully?

Blue and white dragon jar, although the name sounds mighty and domineering, what is the shape of this dragon jar? I guess many people don’t know, after all, this kind of dragon jar is too rare.

But if you find one or two references to describe the shape of the dragon jar, I guess many people will know it. Let's put it this way, now almost every household in the countryside has a large water jar or a pickle jar for pickling pickles. If you have seen that kind of large water jar or pickle jar, then you know what the blue and white dragon jar is like...

Especially this Jiajing blue and white dragon jar, which is smaller than the ordinary dragon jars. To put it bluntly, if the outside of this dragon jar is covered with mud or painted dark brown or black, you will definitely think it is a pickle jar!

It is precisely for this reason that Yang Jing always felt that the shape of this blue and white dragon jar was really not that good.

But today, Yang Jing really likes this Jiajing blue and white dragon jar. If nothing else, just taking out the twelve flower god cups from the belly of this dragon jar, this dragon jar is enough to be called a "hero"! Now the more Yang Jing looks at this dragon jar, the more he likes it.

After playing with the Twelve Flower God Cups for a while, Yang Jing turned his attention to the remaining two large boxes.

Choosing between the two, Yang Jing did not hesitate at all and directly selected one of the boxes and opened it. As a result, the surprise this box brought to Yang Jing far exceeded the sum of the previous five boxes!

This may be a bit exaggerated, but that's what Yang Jing thought! Even though the treasures in the previous boxes had made Yang Jing a little numb, when he saw the treasure in this box, Yang Jing couldn't help but get excited...

Because the first treasure that Yang Jing found from the box made Yang Jing's eyes widen.

This is a porcelain, but its shape is very unique. It has a trumpet-shaped mouth, a flat drum-shaped belly, and a circle foot that is tilted outward. The neck, belly, and foot are all molded with strip-shaped square edges on all four sides, making it look like a bronze ware from the Shang and Zhou dynasties.

This type of porcelain is extremely rare, but Yang Jing recognized it at a glance. This is a halberd-shaped zun, imitating the bronze ware from the Shang and Zhou dynasties! There is a porcelain of this type in the collection of the Palace Museum, and Yang Jing has seen it before.

This jug with a protruding spear is about 25 cm high, 21 cm in diameter, and 16 cm in bottom diameter. It has a very simple and ancient shape!

In addition to this quaint shape, when Yang Jing looked at the bright cinnabar red and the legendary "earthworm pattern", he immediately realized that the first treasure that was revealed was definitely an extraordinary treasure.

Liu Zifen of the Republic of China wrote in "Zhuyuan Taoshuo" that "ancient porcelain did not emphasize color painting. All the utensils were pure colors, which people in the market called "one glaze."

Xu Zhiheng of the Republic of China wrote in Yinliuzhai's Porcelain: "Jun has been mispronounced as Jun for a long time. It has a fine body, is firm and slightly heavy. The glaze has five colors, is thick and moist, and has rabbit silk patterns. The red one like rouge and cinnabar is the best, and the green one like green onion and purple one like ink is the second best."

When seeing this plate, these two sentences naturally popped up in Yang Jing's mind. These two sentences were the key words mentioned in the learning materials given to Yang Jing by his fourth master Cai Yi, because they were used to illustrate the characteristics of "Jun Kiln" porcelain among the five famous kilns of the Northern Song Dynasty.

These two sentences are actually very simple. The former means that there are almost no painted porcelains in Song Dynasty porcelain. Most of the porcelains are monochrome, as if they were only covered with one layer of glaze.

As for what the latter said, it is the specific characteristics of Jun porcelain, from the glaze body to the glaze surface to the glaze color, especially pointing out that the bright red cinnabar color is the best color of Jun porcelain, and other colors are second!

Although this halberd-carrying urn has a simple shape, one can tell at a glance that it is an extremely valuable treasure. There is no need for identification or inspection. Even if this halberd-carrying urn is just placed there quietly, it can give people a wonderful feeling of "a peerless and independent beauty".

This feeling is very wonderful. Only this kind of handed-down treasure can give people such a wonderful feeling.

This cinnabar red, as bright as rouge, coupled with the unique earthworm pattern, is clearly a large-scale Jun kiln cinnabar red glaze halberd-shaped vase!

The porcelains from any of the five famous kilns of the Song Dynasty - Ru, Guan, Ge, Jun and Ding - are all masterpieces of Chinese porcelain.

Among the five famous kilns, Ru kiln mainly produces celadon, and pays attention to a "sky blue glaze", "crab claw pattern", "incense gray body" and "sesame nails"; Guan kiln also mainly produces celadon, and pays attention to a "purple mouth and iron foot"; Ge kiln also mainly produces celadon, and pays attention to "ice crack pattern", "fish roe pattern", "hundreds of broken pieces" and "gold wire and iron wire"; as for Ding kiln, it is mainly white porcelain.

Only Jun kiln porcelain is mainly celadon, but because Jun kiln has mastered the controllable kiln change technology and created the copper red glaze kiln change technology, Jun kiln porcelain is often colorful!

That’s right, the red glaze technology that was popular in the Ming and Qing Dynasties, its ancestor is Jun kiln porcelain!

Although Jun kiln porcelain is gorgeous and colorful, the saying "red as rouge and cinnabar are the best, green as green and purple as ink are the second best" is not said in vain. Even though green was the most valuable color in the Song Dynasty, only cinnabar red was the best color for Jun kiln porcelain!

"It is as red as the clouds after the rain, and it is even more red when it is fired. There is no cinnabar in the world that can compare to it, and it is hard to compare with the gems in the West."

Emperor Qianlong's poem "Appreciating Junhong" is enough to prove the status of cinnabar red in Jun kiln porcelain!

There are very few Jun kiln porcelains like this one with a protruding halberd. I am afraid that there are only a fistful of them in the whole world. In China, only a few top museums have them, but they are all treasures of the museum.

The Palace Museum and the Shanghai Museum each have a Jun kiln moon-white glaze jug with protruding spikes in their collection. As for the Taibei Palace Museum, there is a Jun kiln lilac-purple glaze jug with protruding spikes. In terms of value, the lilac-purple glaze jug in the Taibei Palace Museum should be higher than the two jugs in domestic collections. After all, red and purple are the most valuable colors of Jun kiln.

But in comparison, even the one in the Taibei Palace Museum is not as good as the cinnabar red glaze halberd-protruding vase in Yang Jing's hand. Cinnabar red is the top color in Jun kiln!
