Supreme Sacred Ring, Carefree Tycoon!
In the 80s, a good-quality old Hainan Huanghuali round-backed armchair from the Qing Dynasty could be yours for just twenty yuan. Now, two million yuan o...
After leaving the Basque Cart Sculpture, the convoy took a few minutes to reach the "Three Countries at a Glance" viewing platform at the westernmost end of Iguazú Avenue.
Most South American countries like to use a river as their national border. The Parana River and the Iguazú River are two of the more famous ones.
The Iguazú River, which flows from east to west, eventually merges into the Parana River, which runs from north to south, and forms a huge horizontal "T" shape here. The Parana River, which runs from north to south, is the horizontal part of the T, and the Iguazú River, which runs from east to west, is the vertical part.
What kind of scenery would be formed when two boundary rivers meet here? It's simple, that is, the borders of three countries meet here!
Paraguay to the east of the Paraná River, Brazil to the west of the Paraná River and north of the Iguazú River, and Argentina to the south of the Iguazú River.
Therefore, the people of Puerto Iguazú built a huge viewing platform at the confluence of the two rivers, from where one can see three different countries at a glance.
In fact, there are many places where three countries meet all over the world, and even places where four countries meet, such as Kazungula, a small town where Zambia, Namibia, Botswana and Zimbabwe meet in Africa.
However, the "Three Countries at a Glance" viewing platform in Puerto Iguazú is more famous.
There is a three-nation flag monument on this observation deck, with the flag of Argentina in the middle, the flag of Paraguay on the left, and the flag of Brazil on the right.
In fact, on the other side of the Iguazú River, there is also a similar "Three Countries at a Glance" viewing platform, but that is where you can enjoy the scenery of the three countries from the Brazilian side.
After staying here for about half an hour, the group found a restaurant in Porto Iguazu to have lunch, and then after lunch they prepared to set off for Iguazu Falls.
It takes nearly 20 kilometers to get from Puerto Iguazú to Iguazú Falls. Including the time spent leaving the city, the convoy arrived at the Iguazú National Park Visitor Center in about an hour.
There are two huge parking lots here, with dozens of buses parked on one side and a lot of private cars parked on the other side. Yang Jing and his team will naturally park here.
Private cars and tourist buses can only reach here. If you want to go further into the park, you have to take the unique train in the park.
We took the small train and soon arrived at the Iguazu Falls.
This waterfall covers a wide area, so it is not easy to get a glimpse of the whole picture.
It is now the flood season, so the flow of the waterfall is very large. The waterfall group that was "branched" during the dry season is now almost all connected together, forming the most spectacular Iguazu Falls.
The roaring Iguazu River makes a horseshoe-shaped bend here, and then the river water falls into a river channel more than 70 meters deep, forming a series of waterfalls. During the flood season, the Iguazu Falls will be connected to form a huge waterfall with a width of four kilometers.
Yang Jing and his companions came to admire the falls on the Argentine side, where they can appreciate the Devil's Throat up close. A trestle bridge several hundred meters long extends directly to the bottom of the Devil's Throat. Visitors can stand on the bridge and look up to fully feel the shock of the falls.
The Devil's Throat is the most majestic and spectacular section of the Iguazu Falls. Unlike the waterfall on the Brazilian side which is divided into two layers, the Devil's Throat on the Argentine side is where the river water falls directly into a river channel more than 80 meters deep, forming the most spectacular Devil's Throat among the Iguazu Falls.
The local Indians believed that there was a devil living behind this waterfall, so it was called Devil's Throat.
The Devil's Throat is even more shocking than the flood discharge from the Itaipu Dam that I saw yesterday. During the flood season, the flow of this waterfall exceeds 12,000 cubic meters per second, which is far beyond the flood discharge from the Itaipu Dam.
A huge curtain of water falls from a cliff more than 80 meters high, making a thunderous roar, and the splashing water mist rises hundreds of meters into the sky, forming a thick mist above the waterfall.
Yang Jing and his group were all shocked by the spectacular scenery. If you don’t experience it up close, you can’t understand how strong the shock is.
Yang Jing prided himself on being knowledgeable and experienced, but today, in front of this miracle of nature, he still felt his own insignificance.
In Brazil, opposite the Devil's Throat, a vertical elevator is built against the cliff. This elevator is the Devil's Throat Elevator. From the observation deck at the top of the elevator, you can clearly see the Devil's Throat on the Brazilian side. However, the effect is far less than the close-up view of the Devil's Throat on the trestle bridge on the Argentine side.
They stayed at the Devil's Throat for about half an hour, and everyone's clothes were soaked by the mist. Yang Jing and his friends left reluctantly.
After seeing the spectacular Devil's Throat, you also need to see the second-tier waterfall.
The most spectacular section of the Iguazu Falls is the Devil's Throat, but the second-tier waterfalls on the Brazilian side are also very beautiful.
The river channel here is divided into two layers, like steps. The rolling Iguazu River water falls more than 30 meters from the first layer of the river channel into the second layer of the river channel, and then flows forward for more than 100 meters, and finally falls into the last layer of the river channel, forming a spectacular two-layer waterfall here.
At this moment, in the lowest level of the waterfall, there are several speedboats carrying dozens of people, playing "waterfall rush"!
The so-called waterfall rushing means that tourists sit on the speedboat, and the driver drives the speedboat close to the waterfall. From a distance, this action looks like hitting the waterfall, so it is called waterfall rushing.
But in fact, it is absolutely impossible for a speedboat to really hit the waterfall. With the flow of Iguazu Falls, let alone a small speedboat, even a destroyer would probably be directly washed away by the waterfall in a few minutes.
So this kind of activity actually allows tourists to get close to the waterfall.
There are similar activities in Niagara Falls in North America, which are very popular among tourists.
"Do you want to take a shower too?" Yang Jing hugged the wet Gege and asked softly in her ear.
"No, it looks scary. If the speedboat really hits the waterfall, it will capsize immediately."
Comrade Xiao Wang at the side said: "Sister-in-law, if you don't go to the waterfall, you can take a helicopter to enjoy the waterfall from high above. There are tourist helicopters in Brazil, and there are also helicopters in Argentina."
"Take a helicopter?" Gege seemed interested.
Xiao Wang said: "It is indeed a different experience to take this helicopter to enjoy the scenery from high in the sky, but the price is a bit expensive. A six-seater helicopter costs 180 US dollars to fly for ten minutes, and 500 US dollars to fly for half an hour!"
This price is not bad! Anyway, Yang Jing didn't think it was that expensive. So after a discussion, Yang Jing took Gege with him and chartered a helicopter - first flew for two hours...
