Crazy Stockpiling at the End of Days

Orphaned and working tirelessly for three years, I finally bought my own house only to face the apocalypse. For the second time, I must endure the same catastrophic disaster.

But this time I ...

Chapter 90 Marine Aquaculture Base 2

"What's there to get excited about? In the apocalypse, we can't even get enough to eat. Who would buy sea cucumbers from you?" Xu Lin poured cold water on the idea.

"I can eat it myself even if no one buys it, it's very nutritious!"

"Although sea cucumbers are very nutritious, you can't eat them in this weather; you have to eat them in autumn and winter." Dr. Dai arrived at some point.

"It's 2 o'clock now, and we have to leave at 4:30. Let's hurry up and make as much money as possible," Xu Lin finally decided.

The group stopped fishing and focused on catching sea cucumbers and abalone. Doctor Dai and Wang Jing posted photos of them, while Xu Lin and Zhou Pin took the opportunity to collect a lot of them in their spatial storage.

Around 4 PM, with only about ten pools left, a few people finished work and had to rush back to rejoin the main group. Looking at the several large bags full of their harvest, the sweat they shed was worth it. They had replenished their fluids with salt water and Huoxiang Zhengqi Water several times during the trip, otherwise they would have definitely suffered from heatstroke.

The seafood was divided among the people. Xu Lin and Zhou Pin received two portions each. Zheng Ming and Dr. Dai's car was already full of luggage, so they had to make room for the seafood.

Ten minutes before 5 o'clock, a few people returned to the group, only to hear people in the car next to them say that they wouldn't be setting off tonight, but would depart tomorrow morning, because Young Master Fang had a bit of heatstroke and felt nauseous on the bus.

This was good news for them; they could collect all the remaining pools.

"No rush, let's eat first, otherwise people around will notice we're up to something." Xu Lin quickly stopped Zheng Ming as he turned to head towards the breeding base.

The three cars drove to a place away from the crowd, forming a triangle to block the view from outside, and then began to eat.

We had seafood porridge and fish cakes for dinner. The veterinarian had prepared them at the aquaculture base beforehand, as we were worried about not having enough time to prepare food for the journey. Now we can enjoy them at our leisure.

As they ate, the group praised Dr. Dai, especially Xu Lin, who loved seafood and found it so delicious that she almost ate her own food.

After finishing their meal, everyone packed up and drove back to the breeding base to continue harvesting.

"Let's finish harvesting before it gets completely dark, and then go check out the seafood processing plant," Zhou Pin said.

"Where is the processing plant?" Zheng Ming asked.

"It's located northwest of the breeding base, it's marked on the map, but I don't know if there's anything inside."

"Whether it's there or not, it's not much trouble to go."

The group chatted as they worked. It was much cooler in the evening than at noon, but that was relative; it was probably around 28 or 29 degrees Celsius now.

“This pool is full of conch and scallops, and we don’t have the tools to molt them, so let’s not collect them,” said Dr. Dai.

"We had to give up. The shell takes up too much space, and our car is already full," Wang Jing said regretfully.

"I'll go catch a few; I love seafood." How could Xu Lin possibly let several tanks of seafood go to waste? She has plenty of room in her spatial dimension!

So while everyone went to other ponds to fish, Xu Lin and Zhou Pin ransacked several conch and scallop ponds. On the surface, they only fished in each pond for a while, but in reality, they didn't miss a single one.

Around 8 PM, all the seafood was collected, and Dr. Dai started a fire to dry most of the fish until they were half-dry.

"Those that aren't completely dry, tie them to the roof of the car tomorrow and let them dry in the sun. They'll definitely be completely dry in two days," Dr. Dai said.

The group drove non-stop to the seafood processing plant, but unfortunately the building was not sturdy and had collapsed, burying all the food underneath. Manual digging was not feasible, so they had to go back to rest and continue their journey.

"You guys go back first, we'll just wander around the neighborhood," Xu Lin said.
