Lu Dahai greeted one of the strong men and then went inside.

Afraid of waking the villagers and causing trouble for Lu Dahai, Lu Qiqi held Lu Yao's hand and tried to walk as quietly as possible.

Lu Dahai stopped in his tracks. In the firelight of the distant bonfire, Lu Qiqi saw a woman holding a child of about three years old, gently patting and soothing him to sleep.

Lu Dahai whispered in the woman's ear, but Lu Qiqi couldn't hear him because they were too far away. She only felt Lu Yao tighten her grip on her hand.

She gently comforted her, "It's okay, your sister is here."
