“Swoosh—boom!!!”

The screams of death and the roars of destruction were the first cries of the bloody dawn tearing through the night. The scorching air waves, carrying gravel, twisted metal fragments, and choking smoke, swept in violently like lava erupting from hell.

Lu Chen's reaction was as fast as a ghost. As the explosion ripped through the darkness, he roared like a lion, his muscles tensing. Activating his body armor, he crushed Wen Shifei beneath him like a collapsing mountain! A miniature energy shield instantly deployed across his back, a faint blue halo flickering in the smoke and dust.

“Bang, bang, bang—!”

Debris and scorching metal debris slammed into the shield like hail, stirring up dense energy ripples and emitting a sharp explosion. The immense impact made Lu Cheneng groan, and a fishy-sweet taste surged in his throat. He clenched his teeth tightly, his broad back like the strongest barrier, completely enveloping Wen Shifei in his shadow.

"It's the 'Scavenger'! Lu Qiming... How could he be so fast?!" Wen Shifei's voice echoed from beneath Lu Chentang, tinged with shock, anger, and a barely perceptible tremor. Through the gap between Lu Chentang's shoulders, she saw the crimson scanning beams, like the tentacles of a hellish demon, piercing through the swirling smoke and accurately locking onto the wreckage of the barracks where they were hiding. The roar of engines approached from afar, heavy tracks crushing the bones of the ruins, a death-dealing drumbeat—it was the "Creation Technology" killing machine, the "Scorpion Crawler" assault armored platform! Their hideous outlines loomed in the flames, and the rotating energy cannons on their shoulders, the dark light of destruction gathering frantically!

The cold electronic synthesized voice pronounced without emotion:

"Target confirmed: Defector V-07, high-risk mutant. Execute Prime Directive: Eliminate."

"Erase!" Those two icy words declared the complete severance of the father-son bond, igniting the last shred of human warmth in Lu Chen's eyes. That warmth instantly froze and shattered, replaced by the abyssal, soul-shattering, absolute coldness and seething murderous intent! The shackles of the "cold-blooded heir" were completely broken, and the awakened beast opened its scarlet eyes in despair!

"Hold me tight!" Lu Chen's voice was as deep as the coldest ice, yet his breath was as hot as volcanic lava, spraying into Wen Shifei's ear. His left arm, muscular and knotted, tightly gripped Wen Shifei's waist. The energy pulse pistol in his right hand emitted a high-frequency humming sound, and dark blue arcs of electricity danced at the muzzle.

Wen Shifei hugged his sturdy waist without hesitation and pressed her face against his violently heaving back. She could clearly feel his heart beating wildly like a war drum, and the terrifying power hidden under his muscles that was about to explode.

"Zi-buzz!"

The dazzling energy beam tore through the air and came straight towards us with a breath of destruction!

“Go!” Lu Chen enraged, his legs suddenly exerting force! The muscle fibers strengthened after awakening burst out with inhuman strength. He hugged Wen Shifei and rushed towards a broken bunker behind him like a cannonball!

boom!!!

The place where they had been hiding was completely engulfed by the energy artillery fire, turning into a charred deep pit, and the scorching air waves chased after them.

"Bang, bang, bang!" The moment Lu Cheneng tumbled to the ground, his body twisted forcefully, almost defying the laws of physics. His arms remained steady as a rock, and he fired bursts of energy pulse pistols! Three dark blue beams accurately hit the compound eye sensor of a "Scorpion" armored platform!

"Swish!" Dazzling electric sparks exploded, and the armored platform instantly fell into chaos. The machine guns fired indiscriminately, which actually hindered the attack route of their companions.

"Cover me! Three seconds!" Wen Shifei's voice echoed from Lu Chentang's embrace, terrifyingly calm. She broke free from Lu Chentang's protection, rolled on the ground, and pounced on the portable analyzer that had been overturned by the blast but miraculously remained intact! Her "weapon"!

Lu Cheneng understood without hesitation. Like a ghost, he flashed from cover, dashing towards another Scorpion with astonishing speed and a strange, zigzagging trajectory! The energy pulse pistol in his hand became a scythe of death. His precise bursts of fire disrupted the cannon's charge and lock-on, drawing the vast majority of the incoming fire. Bullets and energy beams whizzed past him, sending debris flying. His armor rapidly depleted, a piercing alarm blaring.

"Hurry up!" Lu Chen enraged, feeling like he was dancing on the edge of a knife, every dodge a step closer to death. The tracks of a Scorpion had already crushed the bunker, the cold muzzle almost reaching him! The light from the energy muzzle stung his eyes, causing them to hurt!

A critical moment!

"Done!" Wen Shifei's fingertips swiped the last command on the broken screen of the analyzer! She suddenly aimed the analyzer at the "Scorpion" that was about to fire!

Buzz——!

At the top of the analyzer, the tiny transmitter port originally used to scan and decrypt data suddenly erupted with a blinding high-frequency pulse beam far beyond its design limits! This beam did not attack the armor, but like an invisible virus, instantly invading its external sensors and communication links!

The Scorpion armored platform suddenly froze, its crimson compound eyes flashing wildly. Its cannon charging was instantly interrupted, and the muzzle light flickered, as if it were suffering from epilepsy! It even spun uncontrollably in a circle, its barrel nearly hitting its companion!

"Now!" Wen Shifei shouted.

Lu Chen's eyes flashed with a fierce light! He gave up shooting and poured all his strength into his legs. Like a cheetah pouncing on its prey, he rushed towards the out-of-control "Scorpion" at a speed beyond his limit! The moment its gun barrel barely lit up again, he leaped into the air!
