In "Skyreach City", a futuristic metropolis ruled by four major financial magnates, Lu Chenshen, a cold-blooded heir to one of the magnates, is implanted with the "Scarlet Code" by hacker girl Wen Shifei after a data invasion, gradually breaking free from the shackles of his emotional suppression chip.

The two go from enemies to collaborators, uncovering the dark truth behind the magnates' "gene optimization" programatterms: the "Subject Zero" experiment and the mind control project. In this war of data and genes, they are both each other's salvation and the spark to overturn the old world.
