Lu Chenen shook his head, his voice hoarse but gentle: "It's okay, continue."
Wen Shifei stopped talking and continued bandaging him. The only sounds between them were the soft breathing and the occasional rustling of fabric. When the bandage was complete, Wen Shifei took a step back, admiring his "masterpiece."
Lu Chensheng moved his shoulder. Although it still hurt, it was no longer a problem. He looked up at Wen Shifei, a complex expression flashing in his eyes. "I've been wondering, why are we fighting so hard?"
Wen Shifei was stunned for a moment, then said softly, "For freedom, for those who cannot breathe freely."
Lu Cheneng was silent for a moment, then asked, "Then what should we do next?"
Wen Shifei walked to the window, looked at the twinkling stars in the night sky, and said in a low and firm voice: "Keep fighting until everyone can breathe freely."
Lu Chensheng walked over to her side, stood shoulder to shoulder with her, and stared at the starry sky outside the window together. At this moment, their hearts connected, and they were full of firm faith in the future.
"What did we just go through?" Lu Chensheng broke the silence softly, with a hint of fatigue in his voice.
Wen Shifei smiled slightly: "It was a storm, but we all survived it."
Lu Cheneng nodded: "Yes, we all made it through."
The two were silent for a moment, and Lu Cheneng said softly: "Next, we have to go to the lighthouse. There are our allies and our hope."
Wen Shifei nodded: "I know that the lighthouse is the starting point of our new journey."
Just as they were about to leave the substation and continue toward the lighthouse, the substation door was suddenly and violently thrown open. Lu Cheneng and Wen Shifei immediately became alert, quickly turning around, their hands subconsciously reaching for their weapons.
Marcus of the Black Snake Gang stood at the doorway. His massive frame looked particularly ferocious in the dim light, and the scar on his face shone coldly under the lamplight. Behind him followed several heavily armed gang members, each with a fierce look on their face.
"I finally found you two traitors." Marcus' voice was low and hoarse, full of unquestionable threat.
Lu Chen's pupils narrowed slightly as he quickly assessed the situation. Wen Shifei followed closely behind him, the two of them standing back to back, watching the Black Snake Gang with vigilance.
Marcus slowly walked into the substation. His eyes swept over Lu Chenhang and Wen Shifei, finally stopping at the bandage on Lu Chenhang's shoulder. "Are you injured? It seems your escape wasn't smooth."
Lu Chen's Adam's apple rolled, and his voice was low and firm: "You shouldn't come to us again."
Wen Shifei's hand quietly reached for the weapon behind her back, her eyes gleaming coldly in the dim light. Marcus's laughter interrupted her movements: "Where do you think you can escape to? The entire Sky City is looking for you."
Lu Cheneng was silent for a moment, then suddenly asked, "What do you want?"
Marcus was stunned for a moment, then sneered: "What do we want? We want your life, Lu Cheneng. The bounty offered by the chaebol is enough for us to enjoy for a lifetime."
Lu Chen's eyes swept over the Black Snake Gang and he noticed a door behind them that led to the basement. A plan gradually formed in his mind.
"Are you ready?" Lu Chenshang's voice suddenly became high-pitched, with a hint of provocation.
Marcus was enraged by Lu Chen's attitude. He roared, "Go!"
The Black Snake Gang quickly surrounded them, weapons flashing coldly. Lu Cheneng and Wen Shifei stood back to back, forming a defensive circle. Lu Cheneng's dagger gleamed coldly, while Wen Shifei's electronic staff glowed brightly blue. There was no fear in their eyes, only determination to fight.
The Black Snake Gang members took the lead, brandishing their weapons and charging at Lu Cheneng and Wen Shifei. Lu Cheneng's dagger sliced through the air with pinpoint accuracy, each swing striking the enemy's vital points. Wen Shifei's electronic baton was no slouch either. Wherever the blue light flashed, Black Snake Gang members fell to the ground.
Lu Chentang searched for opportunities during the fight, his eyes constantly scanning the door to the basement. Finally, during a close combat, he took advantage of the Black Snake Gang's unpreparedness and shoved a member towards the basement door. The man stumbled a few steps and broke open the basement door.
Lu Cheneng seized the opportunity and shouted, "Shi Fei, hurry!"
Wen Shifei understood what he meant, and she quickly knocked down a member of the Black Snake Gang, then rushed to the basement with Lu Chensheng. Marcus reacted and tried to intercept them, but was forced back by Lu Chensheng's dagger.
The two rushed into the basement and quickly closed the door. It was pitch black inside. Lu Chenen quickly turned on his flashlight, sweeping the beam around. It was a small, secret room with a console in the center. The walls were covered with various circuit diagrams and equipment.
"This is the backup control room of the substation." Lu Chen's voice echoed in the darkness. "We can use the equipment here to create a small explosion and delay them."
Wen Shifei nodded, her fingers moving rapidly on the console, starting the explosion countdown. Lu Cheneng checked the various devices to ensure everything was in place.
"Countdown three minutes." Wen Shifei said softly.
Lu Chensheng nodded, and the two of them quickly retreated deeper into the basement. They passed through a narrow passage and came to a relatively safe corner. Lu Chensheng held Wen Shifei's hand tightly, protecting her behind him.
Time passed minute by minute, and finally, with a deafening explosion, the substation basement was completely destroyed. Lu Cheneng and Wen Shifei clung to each other in the shockwave, waiting for the danger to pass.
When everything calmed down, the two walked out of the ruins, and the night was still dark.
